  • Sorry to hear your mum is unwell. I know you’re desperate to get a place of your own, but how would she cope without you, would you find somewhere close by so you could keep an eye on her?

Sorry to read about your mum.
    Live lessons sond dire.
She has become ill because she can't have her regular treatment and I am hoping that once she can she will improve again. I would either buy here nearby but that will only work if housing market crashes and burns... or I would buy very cheaply some where else - up north near my best friend and either rent it (so buy to let mortgage - may be difficult) or just have a low mortgage.
It depends how covid plays out but I would like to change my job either to a better school or do "something else" BUT saying that the new management seem normal, not great but normal levels of work and more importantly more support so may not. Covid has massively changed my perspective on so much. I feel the same but different.
It is all bit dire Beanie. Tho I recorded myself today and am getting the hang of it! Still feel like a tit but hey ho!
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Just to say I have kept up with my French, and since the first of January have done 30 minutes of activity each - previously nothing! ;0) and done over 5000 steps. Which I know isn't a lot but it is a good start for me.
    Nevertheless she persisted.

  • That's a good amount of steps. 30 minutes if French is also really good. I've sadly forgotten mostly what I knew x

  • Ok Friday of the first week. It has been a bit of a disaster. Kids have work and Mum is still live. I am wrecked and drowning in marking and e mails but it is ok, I don't have it as hard as other people plus it is almost three o clock and so I am "going home" today. I will work again tomorrow with just marking as it is getting crazy.
The house bunny needs a second operation and I have decided after YEARS of looking at my fish tank, it reminding me of an ex boyfriend and being technically too small for my fish that I am going to buy a new one. It will cost about 500 pounds. I can use up my emergency fund OR I can borrow on a 0% card for 18 months. I think I might do the card. The Op is an emergency but the fish tank is an indulgence really. But I am sick of waiting for something good to happen. I am going to make it happen!

  • Take care Buffster. I know school is mental at the moment for all of us. You're telling me to take a break - make sure that you take one too. :kissing:

I'm sorry that you are drowning in marking and emails. It isn't easy being in a school at the minute. Hopefully you will get some relax time this morning. x
