Right. Mum ate yesterday, I essentially lost my rag with her in the morning. I am not proud of it, but it had the desired affect, when we got back from the hospital I just went out as I couldn't stand sitting here watching her. So off I went to buy diarolyte and plain chicken and have a walk.

I dropped meds off at my sisters and told her what was going on. She was good, has obviously had experience of getting ill people to eat!! By the time I got home Mum had decided to eat and then went to bed for a few hours, then woke up and had beans on toast. SO that was a big relief.

Last night the weather forecast was for rain, but it isn't now. So I am going to work in the garden today...... All being well XX
    Nevertheless she persisted.

Why is she refusing to eat or drink? Is it because it's making her feel worse or she just doesn't want to?  I think it's time to ask social services for help when you're back at work.  Not just for care but for the help they can give in seeing other services she may need going forwards.

Or if she is eating for your sister, is she just doing it to control you?
  • She wasn't eating cos it makes her feel worse, she has been really ill this morning after eating yesterday and not had anything bar a cup of tea earlier... IT has been awful.  I did ring the doctors Friday and they have the district nurse coming on Monday to see her. It is to do a blood test but am hoping she will check things like blood pressure?

Also the doctor will ring on Monday too. I won't be here but it is the best I can do. She won't help herself, she won't drink anything or cooperate with me re phoning anyone today. She is cold all the time and says she is not hungry. It is all horrible all the time.

The rest of the weekend is going to spent cleaning - I started out in the garden but decided it doesn't need it as much as the house does. done the living room, now on to the kitchen and the hall.

    Nevertheless she persisted.

No, my sister has ideas about this because she looks after her partner, who is a pain re food etc (3 strokes so fair play!). Mum will listen to both my sisters far more than me as I am the youngest but it isn't a control thing. It is just I will always be the baby.

  • I have emptied the under the stairs cupboard.

    Pray for me.

    Seriously.

The stuff is EVERY freaking where.

I have an under stairs cupboard like that. Total nightmare 😩
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • So many plastic bags. SO many. (recycled now)

SO many shopping bags. (sorted into two piles for the cars)

And a million tonnes of crap.

Also keep your eyes on your potatoes. You do NOT want to "lose" half a bag under the stairs.

I am deeply traumatised by the whole experience.

Today I moved a cupboard, (emptied and refilled) hoovered under things, did washing, cleaned the kitchen, cleaned the living room, need to finish off stuff in the kitchen...

Mum ate dinner and looks better. I could murder a vodka. Am so tired....
    Nevertheless she persisted.
