I also have a mum who I live with and whose health needs have meant that I've taken on the role as carer , for what we now know to be a terminal illness. i'm not qualified or a natural at non vocational roles and its taken some time to adjust , some of which has a detrimental affect on my own health.
Without wishing to sound critical , as I'm not , I'm trying to be helpful , I don't think the to do lists are helping you make time for yourself which is so so important when your day is spent considering other peoples needs before your own. Please have a lovely birthday but take your foot of the gas and breath and allow some time just to sit , chill and do whatever you want to do at that point - not to do with the house , the animals , your work etc. Trust me you will burn yourself out as I recognise I have recently trying to carry everything on my own shoulders.
I understand you have sisters , get on the phone to them and tell them you can't do it all yourself and if you do the household will end up in crisis and they need to step in and help even if only a few hours a week to give you some time to do you - I've learnt family members are quite happy to let you get on with it whilst they believe you are coping and its much easier for them to convince themselves you are to take the pressure of themselves when they could be doing more. its so much harder to deal with when you live with the person needing support
Finally I hope you had that afternoon tea , and I hope you have had a lovely day on your birthday and embraced another year on this planet x

Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I am lucky to have people both in the real world and on here who care XX
I have managed to do some house stuff and cook an amazing dinner. Although I do get I need some time to myself I know the house is getting me down. Like really getting me down. So I am going to work really hard this break to sort it out. That way once I am back at work I won't have the weight of the mess hanging over me. SO much of it can just go in the BIN it is unbelievable.
and I have had Bailey's so am off to bed! XXXXXNevertheless she persisted.5 -
With all your words echoing in my mind, I had my scones with jam and clotted cream. AND so did Mum, and she ate it all.
I have had a lazy day, but must do my amazon returns, pick a prescription and do my walk.

What can I do with the rest of the clotted cream? I think shall google.
I didn't sleep well and have had a wreck of a day, I managed to do some washing, must move it all round, need to mop the floor again. I paid a cheque in, bought some ingredients for soup, did a 45 minute walk. I have my pre period headache. Back to the hospital tomorrow with Mum for another test.
She has had to have a clear liquid diet and is really ill with it. Scary.
I am so tired! XXXNevertheless she persisted.4 -
Happy belated birthday bufster - just caught up so sorry I missed it. Glad you got your scones in the end. Sending strength for tomorrow (now today as it is 240am) xx1

Re clotted cream - great in rice pudding, with Christmas pudding, should you have one lurking in your cupboards or failing that bake some more scones 😋.
