I think if you add two zeros 1JMD equals .0057p
$100 JMD will get you .29p to.35p depends where you change it up .

    NBLondon, you have wonderful wombles!
For me, only a 2-cent coin roadkill. It's sad, my wombles have never been this low.
Ooh, almost forgot: 2 small toothpastes from when dds went to the dentist: €1.
    Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.59
  • I've never really looked at the Coin changer machines.  Always seems to be someone standing near-by or a little too prominent to look stealthily.  Same with vending machines.
Most self-service tills seem to be card only at present.

20 Euro cents found on the ground this week, plus a few nice receipts I could add points / claim cashback from.  No idea what will happen if a lockdown occurs with regards to wombling other than opportunities will drop to practically zero.

We are currently self-isolating/lockdown-light (Belgium), so the wombles are low. The only one I found was the online speedtyping course I registered DD1 for had a €20 discount for registering before a certain date, and another €20 discount for a certain affiliated membership. So, €40 wombled in total.
The primary school offered a speedtyping course for €250, which I thought was a bit steep. Other parents told me that most secondary schools require a speedtyping course during the first year, for a similar price, so when this course given good credentials by some parents with kids already in secondary school, I took the chance, paying 'just' €119. DD1 has no distractions at the moment, so I think she will actually finish and benefit.

Are you sure?   https://www.xe.com/currencyconverter/convert/?Amount=100&From=JMD&To=GBP  right now says 100 JMD = 0.615312GBP   so the single dollar is worth a bit more than 6 tenths of a penny.   Even with the difference in living costs a coin worth 6 thousandths of a penny would be unfeasible.
I need to think of something new here...

Not been good since we headed for lockdown - A dime yesterday was the first in a week.  Picked it up in gloved hand and washed it as soon as I got home.

That might be me    I don't actually hang around.  If I walk in and see someone pouring change in; I check on the way out again.  If I see them on the way out then it would be too obvious to stand around pretending to look at my phone until they have finished.  But I might go to the cash point or something and look again as I come back

XE,com will lead you to believe your getting more than the Fourx exchange reality when exchanging foreign coins .
100 Jamaican dollars in 5 x £20 coins will get you in total .35p or one $20JMD coin that resembles a pound will get you .07p

I know the Fourex rates are different - but not by a factor of 100!
Fourex website right now says 100 Jamaican dollars = £0.35   XE.com  says £0.60     So the single dollar is worth about 6/10 of a penny but Fourex exchange at approx half that if I get a lot more of them.

Which is moot since a) Fourex machines are currently only accepting €, $ and £  and b) I'm not likely to be near a Fourex machine in the next 12 weeks :cold_sweat:

All you can get is the fourx exchange rate when the machine works   or Left over currency which is a worse rate on JMD and more differcult for some to use .
XE.com rates  were never in the picture at all since they dont change coins
As you say none of it matters much now  I hope my posts havent marred your thread at all .
My whole point was only the fourx rates really matter if anyone wants to unload foreign coins .
A couple of other places exist but fourx is easy in london .

I have a whole shoebox full of coins ...now sorted out which took some work I must say  .
So its a shame to hear fourx is not taking all currencys at the moment
The whole foreign coin exchange thing is more work and less return  than I first thought .
Thats why only the rate you can relistically get in your location is all that matters .
