    Hi Frank
just been catching up on your diary, I must admit I've not been on the forum so much since it changed. I've found it harder to navigate and not been able to find my fave diaries lol.

You sounds like you're doing great and sticking to plan. Well done in also paying your car insurance in full. I have also went with Sheilas wheels lol.

I'm impressed at your gym going and good for you going to legs bums and tums with your other half! I go to some female dominated classes but one or two men will attend from time to time and they seem to enjoy them.

    Hi Poppy,

How have you been? No, I am not a fan of this new style but hey ho I think it is because I am a creature of habit and do not like change! I'm sure I will get used to it.

Oh waw my core has been in bits since that LBT class. Had another class tonight, Synergy power which was set up a bit like a circuit style class but using all sorts of equipment such as kettle bells etc. Half an hour and I was out of there. The weight is starting to come off too without me really changing anything. Don't get me wrong, when I need to turn it on and lose the weight I am like a regimental Sargent! But at the moment I am just enjoying getting back into the swing of things (No pun).

I've been ok thank you, I'm just plodding in no real news really. Still aiming to get down to that £15,000 mark thats my next goal as such. I'm back at the gym regular so feeling happy with myself about that. I've been reading SSDD23's diary and she's doing the 30 day shred dvd and reading about it is motivating me to ratch my dvd our and start doing that at home too. I'd like to do it before work but I'm a real night owl and not a morning person at all so don't think I'm going to be able to do that.

    Poppy
Glad you're back to the gym regularly. Do you think it has helped with your well being? I am definitely feeling the benefits of being back on the health wagon :) I go before work and I feel like I have got some much more energy throughout the day. Plus I know no matter how hard a day I have had, the evening is mine to relax and unwind and not have to worry about a busy gym at peak time.
  • Happy Friday Y'all

It has been a mixed week for me. My routine has been exactly the same but OH has been diagnosed with mumps. She had been feeling unwell for a couple of days and then the swelling came out. Bless her it has knocked her for six! I am trying my best to keep my distance, been in the spare room for the last few nights. Doc says she will be contagious until at least Tuesday of next week.

On a positive note, I have been to the gym every day this week  mainly because I did not want to be in the house. Uni went well today, given our first assignment which isn't due until May but just like my finances, I am going to be organised and set aside time to chip away at it! Back when I was in my teen and even early 20's it was always last minute finishing off essays...not this time!

It was payday for me yesterday so I have sent all the money I need to into their separate pots according to spreadsheet. I am really enjoying it.

Plan for tomorrow is to pick up brake pads & discs from Euro car parts before my gym class at 9am. It is a 45 minute circuit style class. I'll then shower in the gym and then head up to work to change my brakes because I have got all the tools in work and it is nice and warm & dry in the workshop. I can put the heater and the radio on and chip away at it slowly. Looking forward to doing it knowing I am going to save myself over £100 in labour costs.

Sadly won't be seeing DD this weekend, I just didn't think it was worth it with the whole mumps situation. Even though DD has had her MMR, OH also had hers and recently had a booster when she was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis, but still managed to catch it. So I don't want to risk DD catching it if I am contagious. I feel fine but got everything crossed that I don't pick it up.

  • Evening all,

Well that was a long boring weekend!

Had a mare yesterday, picked up the brake parts. Drove up to work to change them, started on the first wheel and couldn’t get the locknut off! I tried absolutely everything. If I’d gone any further trying to get it lose I would’ve snapped the bit, so I bailed on the job and cleans the car within and inch of its life inside and out while I was there. Whoever put the wheel on the last time I had my tyre done did it way too tight with their torque gun!

OH still suffering with mumps but is getting a little better each day. Still got a face like a chipmunk with the swelling but I’m reassuring she is still beautiful... inside ha!

Went to the gym yesterday & today which I enjoyed, the body fat is slowly melting away. Meals prepped for work lunched this week.

  • Hi all,

Been a good week so far. Work is going well, gym is going great and I am generally in a good place. OH is getting there now after mumps and is nearly back to full health.
Had a default notice letter through today from one of my creditors so it looks like things are finally going to start happening.
Car is going into the garage tomorrow to have all the work done. Seems like I have been talking about this work getting done for like forever, but it is just because I have been budgeting for it happening which is a positive.

Today I have also signed up to YNAB :) too many posts on this forum raving about it and the curiosity got the better of me. So I am currently on the 34 day free trial, but get this.... I emailed them saying I was a student and they have replied saying that I can get a FREE FULL YEAR!! Super happy with that. I have inputted all my numbers into the spreadsheet on YNAB, I just need to start reading/watching info on how to use it to it's full potential. Any hints & tips will be appreciated greatly!

    Morning all,

So this weekend was all about having the work on the car done. It turned out to be more hassle than I was expecting. Long story short, was meant to have the car back before they closed at 2pm on Saturday. I hadn’t heard from them after our gym class which finished at 11am so I gave the garage a call only to be told that they had forgotten to do the MOT!!

So I kicked up a big fuss and in the end they got someone in yesterday to do it so that I could have the car back ready for work today. I think me threatening to send them the bill of a hire car did the trick! Final bill was £554.24 so I have split that into 4 interest free payments until June.

No other news really. We made Welsh cakes with DD this weekend for St David’s day. Still trying to get my head around YNAB! I’m finding it more difficult because I get paid on 20th of month yet some of my bills go out on the 1st which is a new calendar month but still within my pay month if that makes sense. Think I’m going to change the dates of my DD so they all fall around the 20th.

Meal plan for the week is done. All shopping is in so I don’t have to spend anything else on food this week. Should have quite a few NSD’s.

Hope you all have a great week.

Thank you. It has been frustrating so far waiting to start my DMP but will be worth it knowing that I have a little stash behind me when I do.

I think I have cracked it. I hadn't budgeted my pots from Monzo on YNBA so the balances were not matching it. Now I have done that it is showing exact matches to all my accounts. I think this is going to be a very powerful tool for me going forward.

It took me a while to get it and watching many u-tube vids later I have managed to get into it, I read you were getting a year free as a student too so that is an added bonus. I really do like how it works and for how simple it makes my budgeting its worth the cost. Monzo is also something else I couldn't be without despite having some reservations a few weeks back

I support Leeds ( not sure that is safe admitting haha) I have followed them since I was literally old enough to walk. Its always been in the family and i wouldn't have it any other way hehe. Do you follow football or sport in general?
