  • Well all our rising damp repairs are complete but oh my word waiting for plaster to dry is beyond frustrating ! Hoping to crack on with Dds bedroom tomorrow as her new carpet is coming in less that two weeks .

Looks like hubby will be losing his job we will find out next week , financially we are ok and there shouldn’t be an issue getting another but he’s going to take a month or so before he starts looking .

I have started saving again on my Asda savings card for Christmas and I’ve picked up a few bits for Dd but I’m determined to reduce what I buy .

I sincerely hope those in the flooded areas are ok .

Hi all, the sun is well and truly shining here, a nice way to start March. Gosh I can’t believe it’s March already! Hopefully better weather is on the horizon. I’ve got my mum’s birthday and Mother’s Day this month, so I’m just planning what to do for both events. I’m hoping to see her at some point (they live 100 miles away) so need to organise that.

DH and I went to see Michael McIntyre on Friday night, we were really lucky as a few weeks ago he booked a warm up gig in a nearby town so it was a small venue and we were seven rows from the front! He was soooo funny. I’ve given up on going to the big arenas, I found I was always paying a lot of money to look at a screen as I was so far away, not to mention the hassle of getting to these places. Because of that I thought I’d never see Michael McIntyre so I’m super happy as he’s my favourite comedian!

Anyway I’m just enjoying a little lie in this morning, hopefully a relaxing start before taking Wiggle to a birthday party this afternoon.

vulpix your story about eye spy with your first husband had me laughing! Oh I miss the old emoticons – I would put the laughing one here now!  :D

pixtotts I really hope the flooding didn’t get any worse where you are.

Redrobin Glad to hear everything will still be ok after DH loses his job, I hope you enjoy some time together inbetween getting another.

I’m having a few hours peace tonight as hubby and Dd have gone to see Cirque du soleil .

Hubby did end up losing his job but at least all my decorating is getting done !

Got my car insurance renewal through £569 eek a few minutes online and got it elsewhere for £220 .No idea why Tesco insurance think I will pay an extra £245 this year , I’m a 50+ female driving a C3 not a bloody boy racer in a hot hatch !!
  • Red robin, sorry to hear your husband lost his job, it’s tough times.
Has as anyone else found it hard to get on this forum, I haven’t been able to access the pages?
Got my grandmas birthday this month and mother’s day. I managed to get both presents sorted this week. Just got my brothers birthday in May then nothing till October.

Went into a village yesterday and bought some napkins for my gran for Christmas. She loves gin and they had quotes on them about gin. £1.25 they are now in the gift box under the bed.

I have decided I’m not going to buy much in the way of sweets and crisps this Christmas as I am still eating it all now.

    Hope everyone is ok x

I went to see 'Friends: The Musical Parody' at the theatre yesterday afternoon, it was really fun! I loved Friends back in the day so it was great to relive some of the storylines and funny moments. Just having a lie in this morning, DH had his yesterday. I've got a cross stitch project i'd really like to start and have ready for Christmas as it's called 'Christmas Cottage' and I love it, but i'm not so keen on my big frame anymore so will have to look out for another one. No major plans here today, just getting through with two young children and a DH who seems to be doing a lot of moaning from what I hear downstairs!  :D

Redrobin there's always a silver lining!  :D  I hope he manages to find something else without too much trouble.

Treasurequeen oh I know what you mean we've got stacks of chocolate here (mostly given as presents) and Easter is just around the corner!  :o

So quiet on here I thought I’d say something even though I’ve not really got much to say  :)
REDREDROBIN as PK says, every cloud and all that. I hope he finds something work wise just as all the jobs that need doing at home are finished.
PRINCESSKITTY I still love watching Friends, it just doesn’t date (apart from one or two of the cultural references lol). I too miss the old emojis and I’m still not really liking the new layout. Apart from the standard smiley face whichever one I choose comes up as something different.
Sadly there hasn’t been any Christmas chocolate hanging around here since about 1st Jan.

Nothing festive to report. My focus has switched to the garden in anticipation of spring and some sunshine although we’re still trying to sort out the new kitchen and I really also want acrylic panels in the shower as I hate the way tile grout goes after a while even though I Karcher the tiles every time we use it. I think I might have to start doing the lottery or sell a kidney.

Hope everyone is ok and anyone affected by flooding is starting to see signs of normality returning. Is anyone else amazed at the number of people who don’t seem to wash their hands? As there’s no hand soap to be had and usually there’s plenty I can only assume that an awful lot of people have only just discovered that it’s important to wash your hands more than once a day. And don’t even get me started on the panic buying of toilet roll. (Please imagine a rolling eyes emoji here).

It's the most wonderful timeof the year :
  • Well hubby knows what he wants to do job wise and it’s completely different to what he has done his entire adult life but it is a perfect fit for him if it comes off .

Dd’s room will be finished today it looks like someone has exploded a Ribena bottle in it as it’s various shades of purple .

They loved seeing Cirque du soleil apparently it was magical , I enjoyed the five hours peace lol.

Hopefully everyone is avoiding the virus and are well x
