A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

I echo what Nic and Mandco have said, it has been a difficult year for many of us for one reason or another, but- we have come through it and I think most of us have come out much stronger in many many ways. Im hoping that 2021 will be a better year for everyone, healthier, happier and able to enjoy what we have.
Is anyone else feeling a bit emotional about this New Years Eve? We have never really celebrated it other than with a drink and hug at midnight and a quick phone call to my Mom and Sister (providing the networks aren't swamped). This year its a Chinese take away, a family Face Time, an early toast and then probably bed for me and OH (very rock and roll).
I want to wish everyone a very Happy and Healthy New Year- roll on 2021 and roll out the vaccine so we can all try and get back to what passes for 'normal' in these circumstances.
lovin' this site!

Hi first time back on because my PC had problems, which turned out to be the hard drive (13 month old computer, sure electronics have a self destruct button shortly after any warranty runs out). Fortunately computer student son was home and could fix. It did mean passwords were lost though, so have only just sorted out,
The students came to us over Christmas. I know in my last post I was concerned we'd break rules and I was perhaps thought of being OTT in trying to make sure we didn't. The reasons for this were simple, though at the time we and they lived in 2 separate Tier3 areas, there was a Tier2 area in between that needed driving through/close to, one where the police had been out in force fining people. Add in a next door neighbour we've not been on speaking terms with for the past decade, who twice had PCSOs come round because she's complained she'd heard my son then aged 17 swearing in the garden (whilst playing a computer game, not at anyone!) and maybe it's understandable why I wanted to avoid any issues.
As it happened though I didn't see till Christmas eve, students were allowed to return (just once during their Uni hols) not just to their home address but instead to a 'vacation home' This meant they could stay as long as they liked until term resumed. As it happened they wanted to go back on Monday, but it was lovely to have them.
Thought since I'd been MIA I'df update here before moving on to the new thread.

Have thought of you a lot over the festive period and wondered what you ended up doing. Glad it all worked out for you and the students Spendless, and in a way that wasn't stressful for you. Neighbour sounds 'delightful' - clearly someone with way too much time on their hands.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
