Hi all, I hope you all managed to have a good day yesterday despite all of the different circumstances, I was hoping to pop on to say Merry Christmas but I literally didn't get a chance! I think it's the first time nobody has posted on here on Christmas Day! The boys were excited and wild, Wiggle was awake for 2 hours in the night and I got hardly any sleep so yesterday was tough going, especially with no one coming over to share in entertaining them! But we did manage to have a lovely day. I did have a moment of sadness when we sat down for Christmas dinner and no one was there to join us especially as the boys were tired and playing up - I was sat at the table eating on my own at one point. Definitely a different year! I had to try not to torture myself thinking about all of the people with their families! As I said before i'm just looking ahead to future Christmasses when things are back to normal and thinking about how amazing they will be. I remind myself constantly we are lucky in so many ways.
I would definitely like this thread to continue, I know it hasn't been the same in the last year or two and I miss some oldies too, but we've got some lovely people on here and it's always nice to be able to come back to this thread even if it's a bit quiet at times. I believe it might have been like old times this year if it wasn't for covid trying to take the joy out of everything! I for one would definitely miss it.
3forholidays if you are happy to do it then I would definitely appreciate it, or if you're fed up with always doing it I would be happy to do it too. Also, I just realised I missed your birthday, I do hope you managed to have a good day!
Mrs Ryan I'm really sorry to hear about your OH's stepmum, I do hope she is ok and treatment is kind. Putting together the care package was a lovely thing to do.
vulpix sorry to hear about your DS, I do hope he recovers soon!
Sorry I haven't had a chance to fully read back, I hope everyone is ok. xx8 -
Hi everyone! Have a lovely Boxing Day. Storm Bella means that the weather is terrible for Scotland today and all of mainland Scotland is in Tier 4 restrictions for the next three weeks (at least).
PK - Glad that you had a lovely Christmas Day.

What about "stay another day" for a new thread title?1

GIAYD I like the idea of that as we're talking about staying it not, but I think it's always a good idea to reference Christmas in the title so people know what we're about and can avoid us nuts if they don't want to talk about it at any other time of the year!

PK - We could use ‘Stay Another Day’ as it will be followed by ‘It’s the 2021 Christmas Chatter Thread’. Hopefully that should be enough for the non Christmas lovers to know to avoid the thread.

I hope everyone had a good Christmas in these circumstances. This thread has kept my spirits up when I’ve felt low. Your all like a virtual family to me, we’ve been through highs and lows together through the years. I hope that everyone is ok.Notonthehighstreet and Etsy has a winter sale on, there are some nice bits very cheap that can be put in stockings next year. Or as gifts throughout year for occasions. They are also on topcashback too.£2 savers club 2025 #2= £486

A bit late, but popping on to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. I had a lovely time the last few days. We went visiting on Christmas morning to drop off presents. We took blankets and hot water bottles and sat outside for a bit. It was different, but we all got to see each other open presents. We had a nice Christmas dinner. I tried to make it special and went over the top decorating the dining room. The kids said they loved the whole day. So as long as they were happy, then I am. We had a board game day yesterday with cheese and crackers and leftovers.Mrs Ryan, I’m sorry to hear about your OH stepmom, hope she will be ok x
Peppa, hope you had a lovely day in the end.
I love this thread. I’ve been here since the first one years ago. It’s not the same as it was and no where as busy as it used to be. But it’s still a lovely thread that keeps me going all year. I love seeing how everyone is getting on. It’s been a rough year, I wouldn’t want to lose it now.I like ‘it’s a wonderful Christmastime’ thanks 3forholidays x:santa2::xmastree::santa2:6 -
3forholidays I would like to see the thread continue too so it would be much appreciated if you were willing to continue or hand it over to Princesskitty (thanks for offering) if you don't have time
A couple of suggestions for a thread title esp after this tough year- I believe in Christmas / December will be magic again

MrsRyan sorry to hear about your Oh stepmum the care package sounded lovely
Vulpix wishing your ds a speedy recovery
Princesskitty - Glad you had a lovely day despite everything
Its def harder when the kids don't sleep taz was up a 1am and we ended up doing presents at 5am that's the earliest ever I normally have to drag them out of bed but otherwise we actually had a really good day with lots of laughs and yummy food.this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk5
