Hello
I'm not sure I visited you lovelies last year, it was a bit of a turbulent year. I'm not sure I logged into MSE at all!! But I'm back, I'm back to budgeting, planning, decluttering, and trying to save a bit more money.
I hope you all had the most lovely of Christmasses, mine was interesting... I have usually finished craft fairs mid December at the latest, last year I was taking part in one in Birmingham right up to the 22nd. My boyfriends parents kindly let me stay at their house as they live much closer, so I basically lived there for half a month, I didn't come home until Christmas eve. So it was suddenly Chirstmas, and I felt I hadn't been ChristmassyThough I did dye my hair green so I could wear red bows in it like a Chirstmas tree!
I didn't even get chance to write Christmas cards for anyone! I did buy a load from the other makers at craft fayres though so at least I'm sorted for next year!
I've had most of Jan off, other than a custom order, and the dreaded tax return, I've just been a bit lazy. 2020 is starting in Feb for me.
I have bought a couple of bits in the sales for friends I have 2 guineapig obsessed friends and I found some guineapig salt and pepper shakers in Sainsburys so that's a couple of birthday bits sorted. Other than that I think it's been bits for me
3forholidays could I be added to the instagram list pleaseI'm @PaperInkAlchemy
Looking forward to joining you all again this yearx
I hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.
even when it feels like your not....2 -
Happy birthday Clumsy and abbafan. Hope you both had a good day.
I’ve been having a good year so far (touch wood it stays that way) Feeling positive. My job is emotionally and physically draining, but it’s far more challenging and exciting. I’ve lost nearly a stone, I’ve managed to put some money away and get some saving going. I’ve managed to declutter a lot, sell stuff on fb marketplace, and give loads to charity and the dump. So my house feels a nicer place to be.
My girls got guinea pigs, we are loving having them in the family.
I’ll see how long this lasts. I was having a few very dark months at the later end of last year. I hate to jinx myself.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:3 -
Managed to get myself a free box of quite expensive crackers! Ordered them from House of Fraser with some other bits, got the crackers but nothing else, delivery note said they were in package. Sent email to HoF to check, they not sure, but refunded the whole lot! Think I will give the cost of the crackers to the charity I am involved in, at least then I will have paid for themA smile costs little but creates much2

I managed to get another couple of presents in the Debenhams sale so that is my Godson and his brother sorted. Although I always lull myself into a false sense of security as I tend to pick up some bits and bobs earlier in the year and feel like I’m really organised, but I still end up in a bit of a panic mid-December! :rotfl: Maybe this will be the year that doesn’t happen, we’ll see shall we.
We’re having a fairly quiet weekend here, it’s one of the few weekends we’ve got that Wiggle hasn’t got a party to go to. I thought people were exaggerating when they said they took their children to a party every weekend but it would seem not! Although I don’t mind really as it’s nice for him, I’ve just had to reduce the present budget as it gets expensive.
_party_ Happy belated birthday Clumsy and Abbafan! _party_ I hope you had a lovely day.
Welcome back pixtotts! It sounds like you had a busy December, I hope the craft fairs went well for you. I'm hoping to get to those a bit more this year.
Killielila I hope you’re feeling better now.
Redrobin oh no what a nightmare! It can be so disruptive having these things done, but as you say a good opportunity for a good clear out. I hope it all goes well and is done quickly.
nic I’m glad everything is going well for you at the moment and long may it continue.
GTQ that’s a bonus with the crackers!5 -

Yay I’m in too. I’m not keen on change though so I’ll have to get used to the look of the
new forum - I was still on the original format before. Not sure what’s happening with the spacing, looks odd on the preview so fingers crossed it’s ok when it’s posted. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :5 -
Hi all, if it's ok to join you all .. never thought much about xmas until October but thought this might get me better prepared.
I put money away each month for it but still come up short.
I don't send any xmas cards at all and just donate straw to the Donkey sanctuary instead. \
I wish I could find really good quality wrapping ideas that are not made of the shiny stuff, most of my wrapping this year ended up with holes in.
Right off to mow the grass before the storm comes in !!!5
