Edit because i lost half my post grrrr.
Hope everyone is doing ok in this unprecidented situation.
Yesterday at work was worse than any christmas I have done in 15 years and today doing my own food shop made me feel very sad at how selfish some people seem to be
Don't understand the soap running out. Surely it's a household staple that everyone had in already but clearly not
Anxiety has been a bit all over the place with it but odd as it seems now it is getting worse I am quite calm. Just keep telling myself that there is nothing more I can do for myself. I work with the public every day I can't control their actions so whilst I can do my best for me that's all I can do. Do still worry as there are two family members especially who I think it would affect very seriously if they were to contract it.
Just hope people try and help each other if needed.£2 Savers Club for 2022 #126 -

How is everyone holding up? I’ll admit to be struggling a bit with it all. I’m in the same boat as most of us. Worried about my dad on his own. He had chemo a couple of years back and has other heart issues. But really feel for him on his own. He has the kids Easter eggs and I can’t get them from him. It’s normal things like this that hurt my heart.
I work in a school. The kids I work with are additional needs and a lot are really tactile. They love hugging us, or just small touches on our arms. We all feel bad trying to get the kids to stop. We are opting for funny elbow and foot shakes and funny dances.
I ended up with a panic attack on Sunday. My chest is so tight all them time. It’s worry about the unknown.
My only positive is that I have stocked up on craft supplies. Water colours, acrylics, brushes, canvasses, sewing kits and new knitting needles and wool. Hoping to do some things with the kids when they are finally off. Teach them to knit, sew on buttons, take up hems, bake etc. Planning these things is keeping my mind of the rest of panic. Might do some Christmas crafts too.

nic2075 could your dad put the kids eggs out by his front door for you to collect? At least they'd have them then. Is he online? Perhaps you could skype or facetime him in when they open them or at least send a short video if he's on email?
For the kids you're teaching could you look for different cultures and how they greet each other to learn about (like in Japan...I'd prob steer clear of the Frence and Eskimos for the time being!)
Saw stories from the US that people are now stockpiling guns! Utterly bonkers!!!Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

VULPIX that’s awful, what a stupid man and KERRI is right, that’s unacceptable behaviour at any time. I’m not surprised your friend swore at him, he should count himself lucky she didn’t deck him. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :5

Sadly our fears have been realised and mum’s nursing home has been on lockdown since Monday. I can’t even begin to describe how I feel. Sadly she’s unable to use a phone so we’re just left phoning the home each day to check how she is. I can honestly say that it has never occurred to me before that anyone could stop us seeing our own mum.NIC I’m sorry to hear about your dad. I’m normally very capable and practical but I’m actually finding myself feeling really anxious at the moment. I’m trying to focus on other things so I don’t have room in my mind for anything else.In that vein I did buy a silver diamonique necklace on QVC tonight, it’s a dog paw print and I thought it would be lovely for my sister for her birthday - it’s not til January though so my main problem will be remembering where I put it when the time comes.
DH has a hospital appointment tomorrow so unless they cancel in the morning we’ll be going. It’s his first check up after having his ICD fitted so I figure the risk of going is less than the risk of it not being checked.
Stay safe everyone. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :5 -
Thanks Kerri, some good ideas. I do want to try and see him just once before we are all locked down. I’d be sensible though and try and even meet outside and walk apart. He lives on the beach front, so even a 10 minute walk along the beach and just chat face to face (at a 2 metre distance :-( ) would make me feel better knowing he is ok. But I won’t be selfish, if he doesn’t want to do that just incase, Skype will need to do.
peppapig , so sorry to hear about your mum in her care home. It’s so hard just not to be able to speak in person. Not when you are used to seeing them every week at least. At least you have comfort in knowing she is in the safest place she can be during this nightmare. X:santa2::xmastree::santa2:5 -
Gosh, very stressful times for everyone of late.

Had a strange day yesterday took the pooch to the vet because he had a lump apparently it’s just fat although I have to keep and eye on it but it was a new vet and he matter of fact mentioned his cataracts! Erm what ? He has significant cataracts in both eyes. That would explain why he can’t find things directly in front of himself but a huge shock to us . If anyone is advised to try a new combo of flea and internal parasite meds they made poochie unwell for hours and at £38 &. £8 hurt my purse significantly lol . This was a vet we hadn’t seen before and unfortunately his focus was more on upwelling than anything else .
Has everyone managed to get what they need at the shops ? We went out to get dog food and had to go to multiple shops before we managed to get what we needed .
Hows everyone coping with the impending school closures ? I work in non food retail and we have been heaving I think people might be getting all their diy stuff so that they can get household jobs done while in lockdown.

I am a bit stressed and scared as I have a long term health condition but don’t meet guidelines. I’m on steroids but they aren’t classed as a steroid as such it’s all a bit confusing where I stand. Luckily I don’t use public transport, don’t socialise as I hate crowds anyway.
My grandparents are in isolation and I can’t see my gran on her birthday this year which feels weird.
Shopping was a nightmare on Monday and I couldn’t get my essentials in. So I’ve been going to local small independent shops. Went into my loose tea shop today and stocked up on herbal teas and chocolates. Couldn’t find milk anywhere or powdered milk so I’ve gone for dried coconut milk powder hope it tastes ok.
I bought my Father’s Day gift early just in case I can’t get out, got him a reusable aromatherapy car air freshener kit. I’m just thinking whether I should buy a few more for my brothers xmas present and my grandads.£2 savers club 2025 #2= £484
