That's very interesting Tete. I wasn't aware of that either. I have to be careful with calcium so don't have the 2nd HEA very often, usually if I want some cheese for a meal. Hopefully once I've had my operation next month I'll be able to make more use of the 2nd HEA!

    Today's plan:

    B - scrambled eggs & spinach on toast - P; S; HEB
    L - chicken, boiled eggs, salad - P; S
    D - poached fish; chips; peas; salad - P; F; S

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
Syns - rum x 3? with diet ginger beer

Thanks for that tete. I suppose that people who've joined SW recently would accept 2 HEAs as a matter of course. Like you, I avoid having them regularly. Because I don't measure my milk :o , like you I see it as a bit of leeway and only list it on my food diary if it's a second HEA like Parmesan on Bolognese. I'm not overly concerned about calcium as I eat a couple of pots of cottage cheese every week, some yogurt, lots of veg like kale and broccoli and you've just reminded me I haven't had sardines for ages. :D

Will post menu later after I've done my plan and shop.:)
  • Hi, I’m a bit late on parade today. Very pleased to report another -1.5LBS. I’m a lot closer to top of range now but it will still take me a couple of weeks I’m afraid. We are going out tonight to a local bistro. I will have no control over the food as it is a tasting menu (7 courses of yummy sounding stuff) the only choice was carnivore or plant based. We are going with several friends so I imagine the wine will flow until the wee small hours too. Ah well, you only live once!
We’ve a really busy weekend so I might not be back until Monday.

Enjoy your meal out MM. The only thing with tasting menus is that the courses are all very small so you probably won't be very full at the end of it and feel like you need a chicken kebab, LOL! The biggest problem will probably be the amount of oil, butter & cream they use!

Well done on your loss midge.:T

Eating out can be difficult but you'll get there provided you get back on the wagon ASAP. It just takes longer.:(

Yes, it's like the TV chefs. They're always glugging the oil onto everything. I don't know if anyone's been watching the latest Tom Kerridge programme. He's doing another on losing weight as he lost loads by cutting out carbs but now he's gone back to more normal eating he's putting some back on. So this series is more about healthy food and exercise. He made a lamb curry that looked good this week although the lamb fillet he used isn't very mse.:(

I was initially pleased to see that the lamb Rogan Josh was back in Aldi as for months they've only had one with rice that was high syn (14.5 per pack). Fortunately though I checked with syns online before buying it and it's returned as a 6.5 syn pack while the old one was only half a syn IIRC. Shame.:(

I've done my meal plan and shop this afternoon so all good to go for the week. My next meal out is after WI next Thursday so I really want to get that half pound (or more) off.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, baked beans (F), fried egg, bacon (P), HEB toast, HEA milk
L: veggie omelette (P,S), beetroot (S), ham, cottage cheese (P)
D: baked haddock (P), SW chips (F), roast veg (S)
Syns: 0 (if I can resist wine and put the weekend off until tomorrow;))
