  • Well on my make do and mend hit list was some water damaged wallpaper and a small coving repair. I didn’t feel that by the time ld paid my insurance excess it would be worth claiming so ...... first stop the room of doom to see if l had any paper. Jackpot l had some but not enough to decorate the whole wall so in for a penny in for a pound l spliced sections in. I matched the pattern perfectly (if l say so myself) and you really cannot tell.lm so pleased with my little self as the room hadn’t been long finished. Even the paste was some l had left along with white emulsion for the covering borrowed. All free bar my time x

very impressive - what a win!!!

We've decided that we will only buy environmentally sound new clothes. This means that we're going to have to keep the ones we already have in reasonable nick and not replace them until we really, really need to. At least we have plenty of stuff - I'm a bit of a 'sales' buyer of cheap stuff - but no more.

Been to Rapanui who will take back worn out stuff to recycle.

Took down the old garden fence last week and was planning to take it to the tip along with some other items but my neighbour asked if she could take it. Not sure what she is planning to do with it as it's pretty rusty but glad that someone is getting use of it. Took a kettle, toaster, DVD player and lawn mower to the tip.

Made peach and cherry crumble yesterday from some fruit that had gone very soft, was yummy and leftovers for pudding tonight. Got some very ripe bananas which will be turned into banana loaf tomorrow. While making potato wedges for tea tonight, I roasted the rest of a butternut squash that has been in the fridge for a while. Don't need it for the meal plan this week so will pop it in the freezer for another time.
