Well on my make do and mend hit list was some water damaged wallpaper and a small coving repair. I didn’t feel that by the time ld paid my insurance excess it would be worth claiming so ...... first stop the room of doom to see if l had any paper. Jackpot l had some but not enough to decorate the whole wall so in for a penny in for a pound l spliced sections in. I matched the pattern perfectly (if l say so myself) and you really cannot tell.lm so pleased with my little self as the room hadn’t been long finished. Even the paste was some l had left along with white emulsion for the covering borrowed. All free bar my time xCount down to retirement 20235

very impressive - what a win!!!3 -
Nearly finished the bedroom, just got bedside cabinets and curtains to get, and those aren't as time-sensitive.
Make do: Had lunch at home (with my home-made challah rolls) rather than lunch out.
Mend: not done a lot, tbh, but took up a hem on one of my velvet tops
Minimise: 2 drawers-full of miscellaneous underwear sorted out, I can now actually open the drawers without a full-on battle - the discards either CS or going to be used to pad my footrest. Also, 1 bedframe promised to a friend so presently up in the loft.2024 Fashion on the Ration - 10/66 coupons used

Lovely post!
Make do: I used an old sheet to make reusable kitchen towels.
Mend: Had my first go at using the sewing machine a couple days ago, still on the learning curve!
Minimise: we are trying to reduce waste by meal prepping and going on a "nobuy" year for new clothes and shoes!5 -
We've decided that we will only buy environmentally sound new clothes. This means that we're going to have to keep the ones we already have in reasonable nick and not replace them until we really, really need to. At least we have plenty of stuff - I'm a bit of a 'sales' buyer of cheap stuff - but no more.

Well I have finished this thread so will go and have a read of the 2019 thread. This is so me at the moment. I always start off the year with a declutter going through a room a week. I still have the kitchen to do which I am aiming to get done this weekend. So far this year I have:
Made Do -
Finished painting my craft cupboard I have been building using some old paint my Dad had in his shed.
Made a fabric notice board using some mdf, wadding, fabric, ribbon and buttons that I already had for the craft cupboard.
Made a cushion to finish an upcycled wicker chair using some fabric in my stash and the stuffing from an old pillow that was past using.
Minimised -
Took two bags of stuff to the charity shops after decluttering the lounge and bedroom.
Mend -
I am currently taking up a summer dress so that I can wear it more frequently than just at special occasions.Lisa x

Took down the old garden fence last week and was planning to take it to the tip along with some other items but my neighbour asked if she could take it. Not sure what she is planning to do with it as it's pretty rusty but glad that someone is getting use of it. Took a kettle, toaster, DVD player and lawn mower to the tip.
Made peach and cherry crumble yesterday from some fruit that had gone very soft, was yummy and leftovers for pudding tonight. Got some very ripe bananas which will be turned into banana loaf tomorrow. While making potato wedges for tea tonight, I roasted the rest of a butternut squash that has been in the fridge for a while. Don't need it for the meal plan this week so will pop it in the freezer for another time.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.9.25 - £105,664.31
