Hello everyone, love this thread, and I've only lurked, but you are such an inspiring group.
I've made a good start to Make do, Mend, and Minimise,as I've had the sitting room redecorated.
No,I didn't do it ,but the paper was good enough to be emulsioned, patch where the radiator had been has been sorted. Books and DVDs to CS,bags of yarn behind the sofa will be utilised in the summer yarn bombing project. Sofa and 2 armchairs are going for recovering tomorrow, they'll be on holiday for 4 weeks!!
Keeping the carpet,so that's a good make-do,and I'll give it a clean whilst the room is empty..

oh and a quiche made for a village do this evening from leftovers and bits already in the house, -following browneyed girl’s example! Beetroot and feta quiche.. I feel terribly responsible now. That quiche sounds lovely though iamsalt
As for the challenge today...
Make do:-- All food from stores today, including HM soup again for lunch. Sunday is often a day of using up odd bits and pieces before weekly shop on Monday. Dinner is curry to which I’ve added all the leftover (and slightly sad-looking) veg from the bottom of the fridge.
- Had to package a few returns to send to Amazon. Original packaging not in the best condition, but made do with some I had kept from previous deliveries. Can’t remember when I last spent money on packaging. I save as many boxes, envelopes, pieces of bubble wrap etc. as I possibly can from deliveries we receive - comes in particularly handy around Xmas
Mend:-- Not my achievement, but DH rather heroically fixed our washer-dryer. Had a panic this morning when opening the door to find the water hadn’t drained and there was an error message on the panel. Cue DH spending the next two hours taking bits apart, eventually finding the source of the problem - a blockage in the outflow pipe, now successfully cleared and machine back to working perfectly.
- Making further progress with my mending pile, this time sewing pockets back on to trousers belonging to DD1 and DD2. Not sure what they were doing to manage it, but the tears were practically identical...
Minimise:-- More non-recyclable plastic minimised into the eco bricks.
- Packed up some toys the kids no longer use. Will ask DD3’s pre-school if they have any use for them, otherwise will take them to a charity shop.
- Managed to minimise most of a packet of chocolate biscuits...oops. Blame a rough week managing four children all with chickenpox! Doesn’t look like I’ll be writing about minimising my waistline anytime soon...
Beware of little expenses. A small leak will sink a great ship.

Eeek - how do I do a quote now? Maybe the old-fashioned way will have to suffice?
"Sunday is often a day of using up odd bits and pieces before weekly shop on Monday." We do the same thing on a Thursday; Thursday dinner is always either baked potatoes with whatever sauces & veg are left over, or pies, mostly made with leftover sauces. Which neatly clears the fridge before refilling on a Friday at the local market; anything still left over after that goes to the chickens. Who never seem to object to a "leftovers" breakfast (though D£FRA might)( or stale cake, come to that) any more than to their twice weekly cooked-up cores & peelings!
Not much achieved here this weekend: I've minimised a big bag of computer cables (all duplicates) and a box of surplus kitchen equipment via TrashNothing, though they haven't actually left the premises yet, and I shall darn yet another hole in my leggings shortly, after I've walked my neighbour's dog. Must get on & do the landing curtains this week; I've cut down a large rescued curtain into two long curtains and a short one to cover the cat litter tray, which lives on the bottom shelf of a cupboard at the top of the stairs, but haven't got round to stitching them yet. I know it'll only take a couple of hours, and clear quite a bit of space by my sewing machine, but I can't seem to get started!

I have had a few issues with my account following the relaunch so I created another account (I was previously Crafty Lisa Hampshire). I have to say I am struggling to read the messages on the thread as there seems to be overlay of the signatures as much as anything else. Not sure whether this is the settings on my computer or whether this is a wider issue. How does everyone read the different entries?
Anyway my successes since my last post have been:
Minimise
- Did casserole using up lots of veg and a casserole sauce pack as well as finishing two nearly finished bottles of oil.
- Gave unopened jar of Nutella to food bank.
- Gave hula hoop, storage containers and shoe storage to my Mum.
- Gave some disposable gloves to my brother.
Made Do
- Made two laundry bags out of old pillow cases so my small "things" don't get caught in the washing machine door during a washing cycle.
Mend
- Stitched up a hole in a pair of tights.
- Dad did a repair to the greenhouse which thankfully only had a little bit of damage after the storms.
I better have a look around this new set up and familiarise myself with it.

Morning everyone, please can I join in again? Been MIA for a few months, but slowly getting back to OS ways.
Quick question: how do I find the forum tools? I want to change how many replies per page I see, like you could with the old forum, but can't find it. TIA in advance for your help.
I'm currently trying to MMM in every area of our lives, just a bit rusty!
