Cheapskate said:Morning everyone, please can I join in again? Been MIA for a few months, but slowly getting back to OS ways.
Quick question: how do I find the forum tools? I want to change how many replies per page I see, like you could with the old forum, but can't find it. TIA in advance for your help.
I'm currently trying to MMM in every area of our lives, just a bit rusty!

I believe 10 posts per page is a deliberate non changeable decision ☹️ Doesn’t appear we are trusted with anything 😠 as you can tell I am not a fan ☹️Be Kind. Stay Safe. Break the Chain. Save Lives. ⭐️2025 Savings Pot Challenge: As a monthly amount, running total = £469.00

Afternoon all!
Finally found some time to sit down and update on MMM activities this week - don’t think I’ve been doing too badly!
Make do:-- Changed meal plan today from lasagne to pasta bolognese after realising I didn’t have enough butter to make a cheese sauce. Main shop is tomorrow so most of the weekend has been ‘making do’ with stores rather than being tempted to pop to the shops.
- Used a mason jar as a vase for some daffodils gifted by MIL as none of our vases were a suitable size. Actually think I prefer how it looks
- Had thought about getting NOW TV to replace Sky, but decided with DH that we would make do with Netflix and catch-up apps.
Mend:-- Have been keeping my sewing kit busy with mending clothes. Mended a bra (the wire no longer sticks out and pokes me in the armpit!), a pair of DD1s trousers with a hole in the knee and darned THREE holes in my favourite cardigan. I’ve had it for years and bought it from a charity shop (label says originally lambswool from M&S), but it is soooo comfy that I can’t bear to part with it!
- Repaired an ornament that DS managed to get hold of and break. A bit of superglue and it looks like new!
Minimise:-- Packed up a bag of too small children’s clothes for the charity shop.
- Cleared out some old baby bottles that have seen better days.
- More non-recyclable plastic made into eco-bricks.
Beware of little expenses. A small leak will sink a great ship.

Good Afternoon Folks,
Make do: I have made washing gloop this morning, so, no shop bought washing powder required 😎 It will last about a month, and cost about £1. Yay!
Mend: DH has sewn a button on to his shirt.
Minimise: 2 bags for the charity shop are waiting by the door, and 21 items listed on EBay.
A good start for the half term hols.

DH has been so intrigued by the idea though that he’s thinking of continuing to make them after the school project, with plans to build an outdoor playhouse for the kids. It’s been great in helping to teach them about their environmental impact and the steps they could take to minimise this.

Hope everyone has had a good weekend.
Did the food shop yesterday after doing a meal plan. Cooked gammon in the slow cooker which we had with mash and cauliflower cheese, purposefully did double quantities of the tatties and cauliflower so a nice easy tea for tomorrow. Some of the gammon has been sliced to use in sandwiches this week and the rest has been popped in the freezer for another day.

It sounds interesting and I'm sick of standing in the washing powder aisle trying to work out which is most eco friendly, cost effective, least waste, best for recycling etc
Thank you

Been hard at MMM recently and storming through a number of things on my 'to-do' list for AGES!!!
Mend: Pair of DH work pants split the crotch; resewn buttons on a coat; skirt project abandoned for now but buttons retained
Minimise: Sent some things to the local auction house and some have soldMore things to the charity shop and my bro wants the vinyl records when I've finished with them
Make do: Lots of freezer diving to use up old bits of stuff lurking - 'steak' turned out to be duck breast, 'falafels' turned out to be HM burgers - must get DH to use the perment marker when puttiing stuff in the freezer! Was all very yummy though

Still getting used to the new format - I like it but am a slow learner these days! Am a bit sad that other posters think JackieO has dropped off.
Anyway, am delighted to have remade old, long curtains from DiL's childhood into new ones for DGS. Left over fabric + scraps has recovered 2 old cushions for his lovely room. He also got sock puppets as I decided that a pair of DH's were beyong mending!13 -
Make Do: Various Los from freezer used to make soup - delicious 🤤 + still using up wool supplies for scarves
Mend: nothing
Minimise: Various kitchen utensils into CS bag

Make do:Waterproof jacket lost it's waterproofing and fabric was 'wetting out'. Some Water Repellant Spray was purchased (on offer at a local outdoor pusuits place so sort of MSE-ish)Stale bread in fridge is now a delicious Bread and Butter Pudding!Mend:A pair of ankle boots which I wear absolutely everywhere developed a split in the sole where the foot bends and lets in water so I had one dry and one wet foot. (fairly new and previous versions of this brand have not done that before). So I got some half soles, used contact cement and sealed/covered the bottom before cutting and sanding the edges flush with edge of the shoe.Minimise: Bag of clothes to donate.Do not make any sudden moves.15
