  • I think you are wise not to undertake a long train journey at the moment AC.  There are things I want to do, but am being cautious.   I will wait it out another year I think and then I am hopeful that things will be much better, then we can spend money and not feel worried :)
    Thanks mrs p 😼
I received a text from my brother telling me that it's pouring down 💦☔️, and his garden party sounds soggy .

    I think you're right about  waiting till next year. A couple of things come to mind ;
    1) After getting emails regarding priority slots coming to an end from Asda etc , I then get a message saying that they are keeping slots for a few months .
    2) I have mixed feelings about the so called "freedom day " a couple of weeks ago, plus what will probably happen when parliament reyurns after their school holidays .
I think that if " freedom day " was cancelled , there would have been riots and there wouldn't have been enough sources to contain them . Plus I think another announcement will happen in sept regarding another lockdown/ yet another jab  etc .

    That's only imho though .

    Another update ..
Flat decluttering finally done ! *

I was questioned from one of my sisters as to why I decided not to go to my brothers bash . Long story short ( ish) Sisters had daughters and grandchildren staying in travelbodges  which was done last minute . They didn't get to my brothers till around 7 pm , plus there were arounf 150 people in marquees in garden . I did the right thing .

4 of us were going to meet up in Brockenhurst tomorrow . Well, we were ..but one of my friends has to isolate for 10 days as he has Covid 😷
I will be having a couple of Guinness's 🍻tomortpw with local friend so not too sad .

Local friend came over yesterday , and thought I made good job of flat .

Chap came to see me yesterday , and he bought the bass guitar I had for sale 🎸£200

On the health side / well being ..Ive been overdoing it on 5he kettle chips .
I haven't told mr trainer 🏋️‍♂️But will be cutting down everywhere in sept as he is giving out to me about the bread 🥖 weight has been put on , but I'm using 😷as a lame excuse
My speech was all over the place yesterday .

    * Boiler needs to be boxed in 🗃/ carpet needs shampoo / 🧴/ possible shelf put up / holes in floorboard by boiler 🕳
I'm in a slight quandary as to whether James will be interested or possibky get someone else as these are small jobs .

One other thing I've been doing is trying to clean rims of toilet 🚽
Ive tried various things and avoiding blue stuff as that stains bowl apparently .
    Any ideas welcome .

    I'll leave it there ..🌥

Well done on the flat decluttering.  I think it might be worth asking James about those small jobs - he could probably do them in one morning or afternoon.  If he can't then see if he knows anyone who can.  I say that because I know you were pleased with the work he has already done for you.

Regarding cleaning the toilets.  Have you tried Mr. Muscle and using one of those scouring pads and good old elbow grease?  Its a nasty job I know - tbh DH ususally does ours :)

Reading about your brothers party I think you definitely did the right thing there.  When things have settled down, you can always visit him and go out for a few drinks.

    Thanks mrs p 😼
The good thing is that nothing is urgent anymore . I did buy some expanding foam for holes , but if James is free ( and is interested ) then that would be a job for him .

As for the toilet 🤮🚽 it just seems to have come on all of a shot . Maybe because I live in a hard water area . I have purchased a few accessories ( that come in one pack) that attach to a cordless drill . I also chucked a detergent capsule into the bowl. An improvement , but not much . Domestos always . I'm still looking ..

Ah yes hard water - when we lived in London we always had that issue with the toilet rims and also clinkers in the kettle.  Now in Cornwall we don't have that at all!  Descaling products might be the way to go....

Soak kitchen towels in white vinegar and push inside rim. Leave overnight, remove (don't flush kitchen towels away, bin them) and then scrub well with loo brush.

    Hello pollie😼
    Thanks for stopping by .
Thanks also for great advice which I will try.  I used white vinegar with bleach earlier , but your suggestion sounds better ,

    Another update :
I received a  text message from universal credit , advising me that I need to sign into my journal . It turned out that it was nothing to worry about just yet. Just another security measure that so many websites are doing , which is annoying 😾. It seems that whatever I tap into it's accepting cookies 🍪, or basically everything . If they were proper cookies🍪, it wouldn't be so bad , but it's just marketing junk and everybody wanting to track me .
The extra £86 ends on October 4th for me .

On Thursday I had my 6 monthly dental checkup 🦷 . This comprised of deep clean , polish and X-ray . No charge as I pay just over £20 pm into dental plan . Next appointment is 5 months ?! No I'm leaving it till the usual 6 . You have to watch these charlatans 😾
I sorted out the toilet🚽 problem thanks to @Pollie. I did it slightly unorthodox though by using flash wipes . Looks like new .
Regarding all things domestic , I did purchase a drill attachment thingy that does a multitude of jobs . I used it to clean the carpet .  I purchased carpet cleaner at the same time ,so I was all set this afternoon . An improvement , but will repeat the process a couple more times this week . I'm not moving furniture everywhere , but if I can improve from what it was then it's a success . I will do behind chairs 🪑💺etc so it could possibly be the mse solution to the carpet clean I've been going on about .

I obviously did use the Dyson first . Having said that , the bin broke 😾. Expecting the worst  case scenario, I contacted dyson and am glad I did . They are sending me a new container for £22 . I did put sellotape on the bottom , but I'll get the replacement part within 5 working days . Although expensive , I must say hats off 🎩🎩to them for being able to replace the whole part and not leaving me shouting obscenities everywhere 🗣

Training with mr trainer 🏋️‍♂️is still going on . Tomorrow will be tough, and he will be coming down heavy on my bread intake probably next week 🥖😾
Having said that , I'm off the crisps for 8 days now . I had an old electric juicer lying around ,and have been making fresh orange 🍊juice daily .

Healthwise ,it's a bit of a mish mash . Speech is slurry or worse . Motor neurone side of things aren't the greatest , but if I keep ontop of things with  mr trainer 🏋️‍♂️the struggles should be more manageable .

In terms of decluttering , I still have to dispose of 2 kitchen bins somehow .
The boiler needs boxing in 🥊. I still have holes in floor by boiler that need doing .
Need mirror and framed pics but place looks better . I have to keep ontop of things .

Online food shopping 🛒has been awkward at times .  my card takes ages to verify on Waitrose . Then  the Ocado robots cannit deliver . Plus there are very few times when I receive what I ordered in full with substitutions or nothing at all .
I can't use Tesco anymore , as they deliver everything loose . Ignorant imbeciles .

    I'll leave it there ...🌥

You've been almost as quiet as I have AC...

My Dyson also had a issue with the plastic dust collector. For the money I think they should be made of sturdier stuff, but hey ho, it seems to be the way these days.

The training you do is great as usual and the flat sounds under control.

    All sounding good AC :)

  • Good to hear from you again DIA 😼
It's funny really . A couple of other diaries I've been following are still quiet and so I guess that makes me  a bit quieter too  I guess .

Yesterday , my friend and myself caught up on our weekly catch-up with 4 xGuinness 🍺🍺🍺🍺 and not coffee ☕️. Oh, well 😼

A new notification from universal credit advising me that job centres are open  .
This may mean a face to face appointment very soon 😷😷. Hopefully not .
Telephone appointments are still going on , but the preference now seems to be for offfiice appointments . We'll see ..
A strange situation for myself : they will ask for another fit note at some stage . That won't happen until mrs. Doctor 🩺is next available .

I have been contacted by nhs regarding jab no.3 🥊🥊🥊. Plus a flu jab
Apparently , the council may be able to arrange a collection for me to and from the practice ( not surgery ) . It cost a fair bit on 2 occasions and all of a sudden the council advised us in our weekly email . Typical😾.

Flat is more or less there now , except the last bits mentioned above .

I came up with a brainwave yesterday . I moved a couple of framed pictures into my bedroom from the " home office / musicroom " .
I have 2 long mirrors purchased from wilko for about £5 each a couple of years ago.
what I did , wad to remove the cheap cardboard at the back of one of them and hang 5h3 mirror on one wall of the " home office " and it was the finishing touch along with moving my ottoman from my bedroom into "home office ".
Once the boiler is boxed in 🥊home office finished 🎹🎺🖥🖨

my memory is still not in a good way , and I am blaming that on the 2nd jab 😷🥊
    side effects .

One of my friends phoned yesterday advising me he  is now Covid free 😷
He didn't find it too uncomfortable as he had 2 jabs previously 🥊
This means that In theory , the 4 of us should be able to meet up in nee forest in a fortnight

    I'll leave it there ...🌞
