Hope the washer/dryer holds up.
You sound like you have it all under control.
Great taking the long walk with your friend. 6.9 miles is more than I've done for ages...
On the subject of cakes a home-baked one will always be less processed and healthier, especially if you don't overload it with sugar...
Hope your weekend is going well.

Thanks DIA . Welcome back 😼
All the cake 🍰stuff arrived yesterday . In theory, I should start that tomorrow.2 things regarding myself in this flat have come up again . I'll start with the bad first ;
On Friday afternoon around 3.45pm I received a knock on my front door . Not the communal one . Bear🐻 in mind I was expecting Amazon delivery .
Anyhow, I didn't open the door . The conversation : Me : 'who is it ?' ' It's me upstairs '
me: ' who's me ?' "It's xxxxxx" " Have you got the key ?" I pretended to look and said ,' no , I've sent off for one ' The person upstairs is the druggie . As I've mentioned before , I made the mistake of being neighbourly before I found out what he is . I can't repeat what he is on this forum . So , what springs to mind 1) he hasn't lost his key and is trying to ask me to do something .perhaps he wants to party again etc 2) maybe he had to renew his tenancy and found out I complained to all and sundry . So, I'm not getting involved with him or the other undesireable if I can help it . I nearly forgot to mention ..the key is to the riser cupboard where you get access to read your electric meters . I had to pay £10 to the managing agents , and they were sheepish when I told them that the other 2 flats should have their keys and I'm not dealing with above tenants anymore .The things I do have to mention though, is that both occupants of that flat do work thankfully 🤞and that they have improved their behaviour since getting complaint last year
I do occasionally see him doing his wheeling and dealing outside my bedroom window .
The other neighbours? ( only here a couple of months ) . Very good . I actually don't know who they are or what they look like . They do have a shouty toddler who is onky here a couple of times a week and no problem .That's the thing with converted flats. Then again , look at the housing board on here and it is not just flats. I'll say no more on that for now .The other thing; The overgrown Buddleia . It is so overgrown that it is blocking the signal from my sky dish . I've had no signal since Friday evening . Yes , I've had lots of rain 💧💧☁️, but looking on the Internet that horrendous monstrosity is to blame .
So I sent an email with attachments to the managing agents , bssically castigating the gardeners and telling them to get their green fingers out . I also suggested getting rid of them altogether and replacing them with something that attracts birds 🦆.
This Buddleia is more suited to Africa 🇿🇦 And Asia 🌏and not outside my widows blocking light and my skydish . One thing to mention , is that I haven't missed much tv as I have no interest in most of it anymore . However, it would be nice to be able to record the usual bits ( including meridian news ) so that I can skip over the adverts and all of the news that doesn't matter .I have to admit that I'm a bit of a Pansy when it comes to plants, but I now know a monstrosity when I have to look at it . The other plant I detest is lleylandi ( not sure of spelling ) . I hate that , and reading other posts regarding plants 🌱I'm not alone .
Other than that , things are more or less as usual .The sun is shining ☀️I'll leave it there ...2 -
I think you are doing the right thing regarding the key AC, they need to organise their own key. You could always blame Covid for not lending the key out.
Good luck with your baking. What are you aiming for first? Don't forget you can always freeze portions. I often make a Victoria sponge (very easy to start with). Once I've filled it with jam I then cut it in half and freeze half for another time. You could freeze a quarter if its easier. That way I don't eat it all at onceLet us know how you get on.

Thanks mrs p 😼
I'm just wondering why the slimeball wanted the key . He was trying to be pally .
" it's me upstairs " etc. Hopefully he has got the message and I'm not accosted anymore .
A bridge I'll have to cross as and when I guess ..
Great tips for the cakes 🍰. When I do start freezing🥶 , I must make sure to thaw first .
I'll let you know obviously as I go along . Not sure how long a cake lasts after cooking .
2Days ?One thing I never do (and won't ) , is watch those celebrity baking programmes.Sky dish still not working . Good job I only watch freesat . Or is it treesat ?🌲
I'll leave it there ☀️💧💧...2 -
AC you need an airtight plastic tin to keep it in. I use tupperware or I have some old sweet tubs saved from last Christmas. Only takes a few hours to thaw out. A cake will probably keep 4 or 5 days in the airtight tin.Debt free and Keeping on Track2

Wow!4 or 5 days . That is good news . No need to make a pig of myself within 2 days 🐷
I have a few metal biscuit tins in the fridge . These store green and blacks and club biscuits etc 🍪
Not sure I could put cakes in there though ..1 -
AC , yes of course you can put cakes in tins. As long as its airtight. I wouldn't keep the cakes in the fridge though, unless you have fresh cream as a fillingDebt free and Keeping on Track2

It's funny really . I always put chocolate 🍫and bread 🥖in the fridge .There's me thinking things put in the fridge are fresher last longer etc
interesting cake 🍰times ahead ..2 -
This morning feeling rough / tired after waking up far too early .Not in the mood for baking cakes just yet 🍰. Maybe tomorrow
I'm annoyed at the managing agents regarding the overgrown monstrosity ouside my windows .I received an unsympathetic response basically telling me that the directors have decided to side with the garden co and that the Buddleia won't be cut until he spring .
so basically they don't care about my freesat not being able to pick up a signal and I'm without tv/ radio etc .
I replied voicing my displeasure and lack of concern with all involved in the decision .
Awaiting reply
However, I decided to knock on one of the directors next door asking him to come around and look . I was telling him I want someone on my side ( wrong wording but I was cross )
and told him that I can't see out of my windows / pollen making me cough as I can't open air vents in the window etc
He agreed . He offered to get the secateurs and cut today or tomorrow .
When asked how much should be cut , I pointed to the other shrubs and want 5he same height . I said it shouldn't be him doing it and that the gardeners should do their job .
I pointed out that when I asked for the height to be cut down, they did it the following week and what has changed etc.
He will be contacting them today/ tomorrow and hopefully it will get done .
I told him that they are the worst gardeners so far .
I wouldn't have knocked on his door at all, but that insensitive email annoyed me
One thing to mention is that when I knocked on 5he directors door , he was getting his washer dryer fixed
Anyway , I'll leave it there ...☁️💧2 -
What a strange morning ...
Yet another morning of waking up way too early ( 2.30 am ) 🛌and feeling rubbish and tired at 7.30 . Still I got out of it , straight to the shower and then was having porridge 🥣and black coffee ☕️As I was finishing the breakfast around 9am the team of gardeners arrived. They used lots of different tools and made a big difference . There are two parts which I will reduce further in height bit by bit over the next few weeks . I'll definitely need a saw and possibly loppers . At least now I can actually see out of all windows including the bench and postbox from my bedroom ..and the sky 🌕
The satellite dish is still not giving me any signal at all . I'm trying to find the cheapest option of getting it looked at .Sun blaring brightly ☀️. I just came back from a walk 🐾
It's the first time I feel more mobile for almost a week .
I’ve just had a call from the specialist at st Thomas’s. Great dr/ nice chat ..another appointment in 6 months
I'll leave it there ☀️..1
