Its a difficult one AC, but I think this is always going to be an on-going problem when you live in a flat, especially if other flats are rented  out.  Over 30 years ago I lived in a flat in London, none were rented out, all owners, but I made the decision and it was "never again".  The neighbours were great, I was lucky, but I could still hear "stuff" and I myself, was very conscious of any noise I made.
Having said that, you can still have troublesome neighbours if you have a house.  I have to say that touch wood, I have always had good neighbours.
    Thanks mrs p 😼
I think that I made the mistake of buying the ground floor flat ( nothing else at the time ) as I was very ill . Shame really , as the building I am in is nice ,but I got the short straw being the only tenant / homeowner who has 2 flats above me . One of the directors opposite has ( only )one tenant above her . The only good thing I guess, is that owning my flat I can sell it to a BTL investor so the issues raised last year about the druggies won't matter to them imho . The next move ( if successful ) will be a top floor flat . Can't afford anything else 😿
I have a lot to consider regarding my universal credit situation , and need to keep that .
They allow for moves etc .
Mr trainer gave me advice , advising me that despite my size I'm " vulnerable " plus he also mentioned me doing BTL on my home here .🙀
Lots to consider , and I may have to see if citizens advice can help ..
It's true also what you say regarding houses .
My friend in Farnham for example lives in a nice cottage , but next door has recently been let out.
Plus you see the issues in the house buying forum here 🙀😺

Also with the rise in AirB&B you never know what might happen to the house/cottage/flat next door!

    This is true also 😼
james the builder used to let out his house to Air B&B and go to similar in the states .

Having had a chat with mr trainer 🏋️‍♀️After a good workout 🥵I took down the sign
It seems my best option is to move . Having been here 4 years already 🙀, I'll have to weigh up options as to what way to proceed .
    I'll leave it there ..⛅️
Sorry to say AC, but I and others tried to counsel you against a leasehold flat 4 years or more ago, having said that good luck with whatever you decide to do.
    This is true harz 😼
Most people said the same thing , but I went for the " better " , more pricier area and compromise had to be made . Having said that , most of the time things haven't been too bad , and I think I have to be more realistic and not wait for things to happen which I tend to do a lot . There have been pluses such as well as minuses , and if I keep my fingers crossed 🤞 things may not be as bad as they seem .
One good thing though, is that despite your reluctance to embrace the new style mse you still follow me and pop in here now and again .
Thanks for the good wishes, and keep it up 😺

It is the luck of the draw. As you say people with houses have issues too.
We all have to make compromises (well most of us do)...
I'm probably going for a house.  I'm being careful as the areas I am looking at attract tourists and I really want to be part of a community and not living next door to a holiday let or second home if at all possible.
I agree with you about prioritising location and a better area.
I hope things settle down for you.
    Keep going :)

    Thanks DIA 😼
you'll find your right home eventually .
Strange day and mixed thoughts , but not too much in a bad way .
I went for a walk this morning in the hilly part 🥵. Was not as breathless as I expected .
I decided then to take the bull by the horns and tackle the wall in the music room where the old boiler was . Unsure whether to do the whole wall .. then a text arrived from my local friend " fancy a coffee ?"  This meant that I managed to give the area one coat of paint .
That coffee changed to a Guinness x 4 🍺🍺🍺 🍺.  So no more painting today .
When I got back , I saw the nice Chinese tenant who is leaving . It was nice to have a chat and to thank him being a good neighbour etc. Difficult at times with my speech impediment , his slightly limited English and me having 4 guiness's .
He said he was leaving because the landlord didn't address the issues he has with the toilet . Plus they were going to buy a place in 12 months but they have had to one speed things up there . They were here since sept .

My attitude is changing regarding the others in the building . I will no longer accept their deliveries etc and will keep myself to myself . Best to avoid getting into false talk etc and keep myself to myself . I will take in the junk mail/ pizza delivery silps etc and keep the area tidy . Getting involved with strangers is best avoided .
I forgot to train today 🏋️‍♀️But to be honest I'm not too concerned and will hopefully do something tomorrow . Having spoke to mr trainer 🏋️‍♀️, he still can't work out how I "walk through brick walls " etc and he thinks that I can conquer my latest issues a lot easier than I think .  We'll see .
    I'll leave it there ..🌞

  • I am now sunburnt !🥵
I chose the wrong time for haircut , and I am the walking beetroot . Arms are red in places also .
I finished painting / touching up of the music room . Surprisingly , most of the paint went in the correct places it was supposed to . One annoying thing is that the 2 tubes of filler both dried up, and I'll need to get some more .
Upon leaving for my walk a while ago👣, I noticed the "Let" sign outside my window area .
Annoyed that they never put a "to let " sign prior to this I removed it and it now lays flat horizontally . I may not be technically allowed , but if the flat is let out I don't see the need for it to be there . Still, I am pontious pilate ( spelling ) and know nothing if challenged .

This being bank holiday weekend ,I expect the druggies upstairs may start their antics today / tomorrow and if they behave the way they did last year, they'd probably be swinging it around my windows anyway . There is a slim chance they may not do anything due to the complaints last year . We'll see . 🤞

You can tell it's bank holiday weekend , due to the increased amount of traffic .
We got lucky with the pub yesterday, and being on the coast everything will be mega busy
I plan to do some more painting / touching up in the hallway .
I wasn't so breathless walking today 👣or painting . What I am getting over the last few days , is the motor neurone signs when moving round or not .
Having said that , I'm still improved since I kicked the prednisolone into touch .
    I'll leave it there ..🌞

Good to read you are less breathless.
Don't forget to keep the room aired if you are painting.
    Have a good weekend :)
