harz99 said:AC, we're just pleased to hear from you, going food shopping 2 early mornings a week just about kept me sane during the past 14 months, but since Monday we've been in a pub or bar every lunchtime as we're determined to resume a normal life. Just keep on going as you are, and try not to overthink things along the way...
Being on my own , it's easy to overthink things and you I guess you know I do 😸
Being on my own is a choice which most of the time I'm happy with , but Covid 😷is something I can blame as it has thrown more or less every responsible person off kilter .
There are things where Covid 😷helped me which seems bizarre .Thankfully I had my music to fall back on 🎼🎹🎸
Glad you are coping ok also 😼5 -
You're doing great AC.
I hope you enjoyed your catch up with your friend x3 -

Yes great day . It's weird really . I've known him ( and most of my others ) since 1985🙀😸
We can always pick up where we left off .A book📕 ( or more than one ) could easily be written 😸3 -
The best kind of friendships, I have a few like that too

Yay AC is back posting
I know what you mean about the weather, feeling stir crazy and the Meh(ness) of lockdown. However, you are doing great throughout. Keep doing what you are doing.
I also had a catchup with a friend. Hopefully the weather will improve and we can do this more often. If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Thanks @doingitanyway😸you are all keeping me motivated by being here in my diary .
It is very much appreciated and motivating .So where am I?Last night I managed to start watching series 2 of the killing again on the I player👁
I never had trouble watching the subtitles , where I was struggling last year . Odd !
Went to bed 🛌after another neat shot of Jack Daniels 🥃.
Bizzarely it took me a couple of hrs to actually fall asleep . When I woke up around 5.30 am , I had a hangover effect . Having said that , my symptoms 😷🤒seem to have gone so the Jack Daniels is back in the cupboard and will remain there for some time .
I will do something later 🏋️♀️On the program .Regarding my over worrying and procrastination of late ( best summed up together for now), my kitchen is finally clutter free again . When proper or almost proper movement is allowed , my friend will relocate wardrobe if it's able and James can box in the pipes of new boiler . If not, somebody else will . I will touch up the walls in the musicroom and should be able to gloss some door frames . I will get / hire carpet cleaner in 5he summer
Once I know where I am situated with clothes and a couple of bulky items that need to be chucked, I will get someone ( maybe James ) to do a rubbish run so flat is decluttered once and for all . Then get flat valued for peace of mind . Obviously won't listen to great expectations but the minimum to expect .The lease on my flat is approx 104 years , so imho I don't have to panic just yet .The family who have been here for approx 7/8 months are moving stuff into their flat this week . So far they have been very good 🤞. As for the others , nothing to say .I think the best way to summise this situation is to keep calm, get my home in order and just have other options at the back of my mind . I'll leave that there .
As for everything else , that can wait till my next post . I do go on 😸
I'll leave it there ...😼⛅️💦3 -
Slept okay last night 🛌 ,although the bone pain in my legs is back again for last coupl of weeks .I still have a high temperature🤒 , but considering the last couple of weeks nothing to mope about .I was in 2 minds whether to go for walk this morning . Very windy 🌬which I like . However, it looks too cloudy and rain is imminent 💦💧so I'm staying put . Tomorrow is supposed to be the worst day for rain 💦💧but I'll play it by ear 👂
I tidied around . I just did another exercise session 🏋️♀️and will be messing around with the musical equipment later ,via headphones as per usual 🎼🎸🎧
I'll leave it there ..🌧⛈2 -
I may regret this post , then again it's part of my diary of my new life :
On Monday evening just as I was having my dinner, my intercom buzzed.
I heard a group of what seemed like screeching young girls telling me they've " come for the viewing " . I questioned them through great difficulty , and let them in .What happened next was surreal ; the lettings agent arrived late . When I opened my front door , there were 6 or more young chavvy girls in tracksuits. Obviously , I'm horrified .
The lettings agent looked sheepish . I questioned which flat they were enquiring about .
When I was told it was the flat the nice Chinese family were in my heart sank.
Obviousky caught unawares, I mentioned that they were great tenants and I'm now worried about the noise . I then let him proceed .
Another couple of viewings after that, and I'm not keen on what I saw .
Obviously now , I have thoughts about have I made a huge mistake with my life change/ upheaval . Having said that, the listing is still on there 🤞that there will be a better couple to move in and my mind will be put at rest . I was out for less than an hour yesterday , and didn't see any viewings . What I did see though was what looked to be one of the associates of the druggies from the other flat on his phone outside my window smoking away . Non spliff related . He saw me looking .This morning I took a chance and made a decision , which may / may not have been the correct thing to do . I made up a note which incorporated the headlining of the managing agents . The sign says " Parties will not be tolerated in this building " in bold type . I was going to alter it , but my iMac update proved problematic and I couldn't put in " to all lease holders "
Anyway, we'll see and I'm understandably on edge .
As for the rest of the stuff : Breathless on Monday . Speaking to him on the phone , he commented on it . Breathless yesterday . However, I did go for a walk 👣to get my hair cut at long last . The barber asked me if I was sure if I wanted a no4 . I told her that this has grown too much but not in the right places but she seemed to think I should have kept it
Although I was breathless I still exercised 🏋️♀️, and will be " seeing " mr trainer later on 🥵
So plans now : gloss doors / paint hallway and music room / get friend to move wardrobe/ see if James can build cabinet for boiler / get flat valued / try to be calm
I'll leave it there ...⛅️1 -
Having had a chat with mr trainer 🏋️♀️After a good workout 🥵I took down the sign
It seems my best option is to move . Having been here 4 years already 🙀, I'll have to weigh up options as to what way to proceed .I'll leave it there ..⛅️1 -
Its a difficult one AC, but I think this is always going to be an on-going problem when you live in a flat, especially if other flats are rented out. Over 30 years ago I lived in a flat in London, none were rented out, all owners, but I made the decision and it was "never again". The neighbours were great, I was lucky, but I could still hear "stuff" and I myself, was very conscious of any noise I made.
Having said that, you can still have troublesome neighbours if you have a house. I have to say that touch wood, I have always had good neighbours.Debt free and Keeping on Track3
