Old Style Weight Loss 2020 - Part 1

Morning all.
Enjoy your trip Izadora, sounds perfect. Honeythewitch it is so annoying I have been through that myself. I often find I am a week behind, it's like my body needs time to catch up with the changes. Although I weigh every week I now look at my progress over the month. I am not saying that it always works out but more often than not it can do. I found doing it that way took the stress and pressure off a bit.
Grub today is as follows...hopefully!
B - porridge
D - pork chops, roasties done in air fryer, cauli, carrots, Swede, cabbage and gravy
T - HM Butternut squash soup
S - fruit and fibre one cake bar
Managed a long walk yesterday but heavy rain forecast so hopefully, cross fingers will try yoga today.
We live in hope.
Have a good one all. X‘It never hurts to keep looking for sunshine’ - Winnie the Pooh6 -
Yes please Brambling another 7lbs we can but try xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.6 -
Afternoon all,
It would be lovely to have a calm week for once but I will be waiting a while I think...!!
Never the less it's been a good week for DS , he went for an interview to the city for a place at collage at the beginning of the week , it's two hours away so we were driving in snow, some very strange looks entering with a snow laden car in to a sleeting city!! He was there two hours so DH and I had a coffee, only to be told by the farm next to us don't come home stay over as no one is going down the road and the tractors stuck, so we did just that, all ideas of healthy eating went out the window when DH suggested Tapas! We got home safely the next day after the plough had been through, it ended on a good note by DS being offered a place which was wonderful! We are still with a fair bit of snow, and fingers crossed the electricity is behaving !!
I for some unknown reason have been able to loose 2lb this week ( probably all the worry of DS!!) I'm trying again at skiing so my legs don't half ache but I'm not falling down as much!! I keep having to think it's doing me good...
Izadora, Well Done for your loss and smashing your stone Xx When I find it difficult to sleep I put soothing music on my (actually DS but on long term borrow!!) Ipod and earphones and that gets me to relax, sleep and not disturb anyone. The Biscoff cheesecake sounded out of this world! I daren't ask for you to share the recipe I maybe shunned and black listed from you all, but it would only be for relation purposes only you understand!!
I love the idea of your Tea bread Toonie, and it's lovely having something home made so much better than brought and you know whats been put into it!
Brambling, I hope that's the end of the dentist for 6th months and you aren't in any pain any more. We have treats on Fridays which are very difficult to walk past at work! I'm glad your line is up and running, You know how I feel when it comes to no internet and lecky!!
Blue Doggy, I would be the same as you with ginger biccies, I love them!! If it was me I wouldn't of stopped at 6..!!
Roblou, Peanut butter on granuary rolls are my down fall, I also love peanut butter, the crunchy the better!!

I don't drive when it snows unless I have to get home. Good news re your son getting a college place
Honey I feel your pain on the STS, all we can do is keep plodding along

Food today..
Chicken vegetable and lentil soup.
Ham and pickled onion butty.
More soup.
Pineapple and yogurt.
Marmite on toast if I am hungry later.
My goodness the rain was bucketing it down today and the waterproofing on my down coat is well and truly gone! I had a three mile walk in the rain and it was like wearing a giant sponge. My Persian is currently sitting in top of my sopping wet hat and gloves. I have no idea why, it cant be comfortable.,6 -
Good evening everyone
honey do you think your Persian is trying to stop you going out in the rain again (probably for nefarious feline reasons 😹)? How disappointing to STSDon’t let yourself give up or get downhearted, the weight will come off if you keep on doing the right things.:)
Molly That’s an interesting observation. There are several things to look at with your reaction to baked beans. As honey suggested, it could be water retention because of salt (in which case you should be able to lose it easily) and/or change to a low salt/low sodium brand; it could be sugar - some brands have more added than others, it’s worth checking. Do you always eat the beans with another carb (toast? potato?), and do you find the same gain with beans without other carbs? If you eat them with potato or toast, do those foods without beans cause you weight gain?
There’s so much to consider, I find myself thinking either “oh, how interesting!” or “It’s all too much, I’m losing the will to live!”
Roblou those are very wise words about looking at your progress over the month and taking a lot of stress off.
jackrabbit congratulations on your weight loss 👏 and also congratulations to your DS 👏 on gaining his college place. I’m glad you got home safely in spite of the snow, fingers crossed 🤞for the continuance of your electricity supply.
Brambling how lovely that your colleague “dealt with” the bossand you got off the “late working” hook.
Brrrr, cold and wet today. I had a bit of pre-Spring cleaning today, and tacked a chunk of the kitchen, rearranged some worktop dwellers (microwave, knifeblock, bread maker etc.), and rehomed some “stuff”.
Menu for today:
B : porridge
L : 2 tangerines, apple, skyr
D : haddock stir-fried with leek, carrots and sprouts; cinnamon yogurt
S : apple“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

Morning everyone, it's chucking it down with wind a plenty so won't be going far today.
I managed to do my yoga yesterday...yay. it's been about 18 months since I last had ago and I am now 2 stone heavier than I was so it wasn't easy. So I am almost starting a fresh. I was only ever a beginner and struggle a bit with knees and shoulders but I did find that over time it did help with my flexibility and balance. Plus he helps my stressy mind.
Eats today
B - bacon rolls
Then we have a card night at the neighbours, usually we have a pizza or something but we are having homemade Chilli with jacket potatoes or rice. I'm not sure what time we are eating so not sure about the rest. I will have some cold chicken in the fridge once they are cooked up so could just nibble on that.
Have a lovely day wherever you are and whatever the weather.‘It never hurts to keep looking for sunshine’ - Winnie the Pooh5 -
Hello
Can I join you please? Molly told me about you after she read that I want to lose weight before my 60th birthday on 1st September having been fat at forty and fat at fifty. I'm finally getting my house in order thanks to my flylady friends and I think now is a good time to start addressing my weight issue. (It will take a lot longer than six months to get it all off - but I can make a start.)
I'd like to lose 7 lbs by 31st March. Is that how it works? I've got around six stones to lose - but I'm guessing that you break the weight-loss down in to quarterly targets? Saturday will be WI day - so I'm going to get weighed now and begin. (I'm assuming you said I can join you)

Hi Roundtuit 👋 and welcome any friend of Molly is a friend of ours 🙂. I'll add you to the table with a 7lb target until the end of the quarter. Losing six stone is like eating a elephant one small bite at a time 🐘.
Have a good day all, I'm off to get my hair cut which considering the weather will be a waste of money 🙄 but at least I'll get a good gossip with my hairdresser and his husband and a decent cup of tea 🙂
