Old Style Weight Loss 2020 - Part 1

Morning All,
Zafiro Well done for sticking to fruit when others were having biscuits. Did you manage to get any pancakes in the end?
Brambling At least your treats were for lunch rather than as well as and it meant you had a handy dinner for getting home so late.
Blue Doggy Well done on ditching the booze habit and, while they may not be interesting, paperwork and chores are unfortunately necessary.
Molly Well done on the loss and I hope all goes well with today's scan
roblou Your butternut soup sounds delicious!! Enjoy your temptation free afternoon.
Although I'm working from home today it's unfortunately not as temptation free as I would like. I, very stupidly, agreed to make my parents and husband a Biscoff cheesecake and I tried a little bit of the filling which was left in the bowl - it is going to be very difficult to resist having any. Best I put some extra effort in when I go out to do C25K!! Other than the cheesecake food should be quite sensible, mushrooms on toast for lunch and Hairy Bikers sausage casserole for dinner.
Best of luck everyone xx7 -
Good evening everyone
molly congratulations on your good loss
Izadora Biscoff cheesecake sounds much more than wicked!I hope your parents and husband enjoy it without any leftovers for you to feel you must finish
The Keith Floyd style of food preparation hadn’t quite become a habit with me, thank goodness, but it was on the road to do so. I don’t really miss it, times I think I’d like a glass of wine I pour a glass of water to sip while I cook.

👏👏 Molly unless my sums are wrong you've hit your target 😁 I hope the scan went ok 🙂
Izadora I did not need to know there were such things as Biscoff cheesecakes 🤤 I hope you had a good dinner 🙂
i remember my mum watching the galloping gourmet I think he always drank as he cooked ? 🙂
Weigh in for me and a STS this week, does someone want to give me a kick up the bum as I'm not flexible enough to do it myself and it's needed, I've been faffing for months 😕
I worked late again tonight and have been told it will be a lot later tomorrow, I may have been slightly sarcastic to the boss on the short notice and told him it was just as well I had no plans 😡 we were meant to be doing it a couple of weeks ago but IT issues meant we couldn't but then we were given a couple of weeks. 😐
B - porridge and fruit
L - vegetable / tomato type thing from the freezer with a tiger roll as it wasn't the soup i though it was and I had no rice or pasta to go with it 🙄
D - smoked cod, colcannon and broccoli
S - grapes, plum, fibre one popcorn bar, small piece raspberry flanLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin8 -
Hello thank you for the good wishes and yes i reached my target but going to set myself a mini target of 7lbs
Scan went well thank you xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

Morning all
IZADORA - couldn't find a drool emoji but nummy!!!
Crack of dawn shopping to miss the expected snow which just worked.
B - toasted hot cross bun....too nice to resist
D - sausage pasta made with Heck chicken Italia sausies and loads of veg
T - mackerel pasta (tinned mackerel in mustard sauce stirred through cooked pasta and mixed veg) nice cheap meal
A bit pasta heavy today but that's what was fancied all round.
S - fruit and fibre one cake bar. Copious amounts of tea and am going to try to up my water in take.
Have good day all.‘It never hurts to keep looking for sunshine’ - Winnie the Pooh6 -
Good Afternoon All,
Blue Doggy I'm not sure which would be worse about Keith Floyd style cooking, the amount of wine you drink or the meals you'd have to eat. I don't know how but he always managed to make things look entirely unappetising.
Brambling Well done for the STS. I'll give you a kick up the bum, but only a very gentle one because with the hours you're working and the temptations in your office that's pretty good going. I hope work's not too hideous/late today.
Molly Yay, congratulations for hitting your target!! I miss the old applauding emoji... Best of luck with your next mini target.
roblou Well done for getting out before the snow hit and hopefully you've got everything you need if the weather turns any worse.
Well, I'd like to say that the cheesecake was disgusting (or that I didn't eat enough of it to be able to form an opinion) but I really enjoyed it
As work was busy I ended up skipping lunch so told myself that I could justify the calories and had a fairly small piece. I sent my parents home with some, put some in the freezer (which has now been promised to colleagues) and have some to take to my friends' house tonight so have done pretty well at making sure I can't be tempted to eat too much of it.
As I'm staying with friends tonight and then we're going to Dorset tomorrow, for 3 nights, I'll be a day late with my weigh in and who knows what/how much I'm going to end up eating. We were planning on doing loads of coastal walks but, looking at the current weather, I think it's much more likely that we'll stay in the cottage with a roaring fire and lots of snacks...
Have a fabulous weekend and best of luck everyone xx

Good evening everyone
Brambling well done 👍 on STS in spite of all the sugary treats in your office, just breathing the air must be worth several caloriesDo you keep a food diary (apart from on here)? I’ve started keeping one this year, and also recording my daily weight
so I can begin to see the effects of various foods. Sometimes it seems that apparently small amounts of certain items have a marked effect.
Yes, Keith Floyd (Galloping Gourmet) would get through several large glasses of wine during the course of a programme, as well as tipping wine into the dishes he was cooking. I don’t remember it seeming to affect him, and he always ended the programmes on his feet.Molly congratulations on reaching your first target 👏 and best wishes for your new one. Also very glad you had a good result from your scan.
roblou I’m glad you missed the snow!
Izadorawell done on minimising your intake of cheesecake 👏 Wishing you a lovely break in Dorset whatever the weather.
Supermarket shopping today, plus several other errands at the same time. Luckily it was dry today, and sunny, but with a bitter wind. This afternoon I decided to casserole my chop for dinner, and while the oven was on I par-baked some jacket potatoes to freeze for later, and also some YS chicken breast baked with herbs for salads next week.
So, today’s nosh
B : porridge
L : butter bean stew (second portion from Tuesday’s batch); skyr
D : pork chop with leek, carrots and peas; cinnamon yogurtS : none

Molly do you want me to add the 7lbs to your target? 🙂. I find bread can make me gain a couple of lbs over night, my sister who has a wheat intolerance can gain half a stone in a week by eating it 😐. I'm glad the scan went well
Blue Doggy I know if I keep a proper food diary I do well and often start the week with good intentions and then go off course by mid week and forget to write it down
izadora i love Dorset but I'm bias as it's where I'm from 🙂 have a good weekend and I hope the weather is kind to you
My late night didn't happen 👏. One of my colleagues decided my manager was wrong in wanting us to start at lunchtime and working late and got in at 7.30am and started, then told him her revised plan when he got in 😳. I'm sorry I missed it as I was in late thanks to a hygienist appointment first thing 🙂. I bumped into two ex colleagues in the dentist waiting room, a nice coincidence that we were all in there together 🙂. We try to meet for coffee regularly but haven't managed since October, they're both retired so busy with grandchildren and in one case very elderly relatives, I'm of course twiddling my thumbs 😁 Coffee date booked to catch up properly as the dentist doesn't offer coffee and I had to go to work 🙂
B - fruit
L - LO smoke cod, colcannon and veg from last night - probably not a good idea for the office a little smelly 😁
D - air fried chips with scampi and sweetcorn
S - grapes, orange, nectarine, kit kat

I have STAYED THE FLAMING SAME AGAIN,unfortunately. I know its good that it isnt a gain, but I am getting pretty fed up with it. It seems a huge amount of effort for a small result or no result at all.
Until recently I could drop weight easily. I dont know whats going on.6
