Old Style Weight Loss 2020 - Part 1

Hope your internet and phone come back properly and soon Brambling.
I am a +1 this week which I was expecting as it's school holidays and we went out to lunch with a friend on Wednesday. The HT and I have started healthy eating again from today. As the HT is still growing we're just judging his weight by his jeans. He's gone from a 34" waist to a 30" waist and looks much better for it. He also has way more willpower when it comes to not eating cakes/junk food etc than his mother does!
Take care all of you8 -
Just a 0.5 lb loss this week, but at least it's a loss.
It was my MIL's birthday yesterday and she invited me over to have a chippy lunch with her and SIL, I had a pie and chips, then we had a creamy profiterole dessert, then cake which SIL had brought, calories don't count on birthdays do they? LOL!

Well done on the wight losses and STS xx
Im another who is sorting out and selling my big clothes Im determined not to get back to them. I went bra shopping on Friday - i feel for DH sat looking sheepish whilst the lady (who was excellent) fitted me. A new bra can work wonders!!!!
Anyway have a good sunday xx Keep positive xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.10 -

Good morning everyone. It's been a frustrating week as the internet went down late on the 13th due to trees coming down. It's still intermittent as apparently there's also a fault underground and the road has to be dug up. I didn't realise just how much we rely on it, I don't keep a phone book anymore and not everything is on my mobile!!
Just been catching up on all the postings, some good, some struggling, The one that caught my eye was the heartfelt posting by Dumpling encouraging everyone to lose weight.
Dumpling, you is absolutely right, my heart goes out to you, keep positive and keep posting. When I originally joined this thread I'm pretty sure it was you who ran it.
Now to the diet - my weighin is tomorrow,- it's looking reasonable but not fantastic,
I never have time for breakfast other than a cup of tea,
Lunch is usually soup, sometimes out of a tin but mostly homemade, followed by fruit.
Dinner is a piece of meat with vegetables, followed by a pud of some sort.
At the moment I'm watching what follows lunch as DH has bread rolls with his soup and I so love bread. Also biscuits/cake can creep onto the table.
All being well I'll post tomorrow with the weight loss and todays food

Good evening everyone
What a week it has been. I have eaten a frightening amount of rubbish and yet again, it solves nothing. You think at 50 I would have learned this lesson by now. I am determined to lose another stone so the line is drawn and all my treats that survived the munch-fest have been binned. I will give myself a week before I weigh myself as even though it is cheating a bit, psychologically it will be disastrous to see the weight I have probably gained. I am back to counting calories as that is the only thing I have found to work for me.
I bought smaller plates a while ago, actually when I came out of hospital as that was the size they used and I found it enough, but like all my good intentions they are gathering dust in the cupboard. I will start using them again as that will be a fairly painless way to cut down on my portion size. I get so mad with myself. I am not a stupid person but I make poor decisions around food due to...well, lots of reasons really, mostly sad ones. I am sure that a lot of you will completely understand where I am coming from and it really helps to know that this is such a lovely caring community.
A massive Well Done to all of you whether you have lost, maintained or gained for just being brave enough to record how you have done. A special thank you to Brambling as well for running this challenge and doing the chart. Hopefully your internet problems will resolve themselves very soon as I know how frustrating it is. I promise that I will post more often and try to be more of a support to everyone on here. Thank you for reading my wafflings especially when it is from the early hours of the morning when I cannot sleep. Take care everyone
