Morning everyone and Happy New Year.
Yesterday got off to a good start with a double Parkrun in the morning, so that 6 miles already done this year.
We had my parents over for lunch, so did a full roast dinner with lots of veggies and then a pear sponge for pud. In the evening we had some warm nibbles and cheese and crackers. Not the healthiest of days but fairly balanced and the running will have burnt some of it off!0 -
Yay - here we go again! :j
Please can you put me down for 20lbs this quarter, Brambling? My aim is to lose 20lb per quarter and by next year, I will have reached my goal weight.
Good luck everyone - we can do this! :T31.5/1000 -
Happy New Year All.
Brambling Thank you for setting this up again.
I will definitely try harder this year, knowing that we're going away in June and I can't currently get into any of my summer clothes will hopefully spur me on, and was tempted to put a very low target (anything that's not a gain would be an improvement on last quarter...) but I really need to knuckle down properly so could you please put me down for 21lb
It seems like quite a scary number but it's such a small amount of the total that I need to lose that I'm hoping it's doable. I'll be starting on Monday so will make that my weigh in day this time.
Best of luck to everyone xx0 -
Hello
Please may I join?
I did so well last year getting to below my pre-pregnancy weight however the festivities means I’ve gained 3kg. My girl is one in 2 weeks time and still breastfeeding to sleep so I’ve no longer got those extra calories to play with like I did before.
My aim -
Lose the 3kg by her birthday on 15th.
Lose a further 13kg by my birthday which is 10th July.
This will take me under 10 stone. I was happy at this weight and I can get there if I put my mind to it. Joining this group will help me. I’m not always great at weighing myself as I have to use the chemist scales and it all depends on my daughter but I will try to do it weekly it bi-weekly. I’ve also set myself the challenge of 500,000 steps during January. This will help me too:money::rotfl::T0 -
Sarah I have added 7kgs for your first quarter is that ok?
JackieO you're right eating in front of the TV can be fatal as we aren't given our brain time to process we're full as it's concentrating on other things, I have read we should wait 20 mins for that reason. Unfortunately like so many people who live a lone I tend to sit infront of the TV to eat. Did you want me to add you to the chart for this quarter ?
Dumpling I'm assuming custard creams are less harmful for you than chocolate biscuits or is that just wishful thinking? You're going to have to train your children to hide the biscuit tin from you. Thanks for the reminder of the PON chicken and leeks in blue cheese sauce I had forgotten about that one and do enjoy it.
Honey are you eating enough or are you fasting? There didn't seem a lot of food on your list for yesterday or maybe I'm just greedy
PatentGirl this is also my first day back in the office since the 20th although I have worked from home a couple of days, unfortunately there are both chocolate and biscuits in there which i'm managing to avoid, it's the only time I'm thankful for 6 hour meetings
Nothing to wear on holiday is always a good incentive to lose weight Izadora, I've been known on more than one occasion to panic shop the week before which is not very :money:
Work is the usual manic beginning of the month stuff and a 2 hour meeting turned into a 6 hour oneluckily I have LOs from yesterday for dinner so that should avoid the urge to pick at rubbish rather than than cooking a healthy meal later. I seem to have 2 panettones hiding under the stairs which can't come to work as one was part of the Christmas present from the manager. I'm meeting a friend at the beginning of February who will take one off my hands if i can avoid eating them in the mean time I'll just have to think what to do with the other, I don't think panettone bread and butter pudding should be part of my weight loss plan :rotfl:
B - Porridge, banana and berries
L - chicken and veg soup
D - LO Nasi Goreng with addition broccoli
S - Nothing so far but will probably be some fruit this eveningLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
I'll go and find a set of public scales somewhere on the High Street and weigh myself a couple of times over the weekend so I can check my scales at home are working properly...
Happy to say I've finished the New Year Brie. I like the stuff a bit too much.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Honey are you eating enough or are you fasting? There didn't seem a lot of food on your list for yesterday or maybe I'm just greedy :D:D I am afraid it was the entire 160g block of Cornish brie and EIGHT krackawheat. It was still only around twelve hundred calories though.
Today wasnt as good. What should have been a quick hospital appointment in the morning dragged on until 5.30, so lunch was an overdone microwave baked potato with a blob of dry tuna, no mayonnaise or butter, and a fraction of tomato, speck of lettuce and just traces of a cucumber. (though it was kind of them to give it to me)
Needless to say, when my husband picked me up at half past six I was beyond starving and dog tired, and I insisted on stopping at the chip shop for a pie dinner.0 -
B - porridge and cream
L - chicken salad sandwich
T - sausages, beans and chips
Then chocolate buttons and butterfly cakes...0 -

Me too. All cheese.I managed to put a very large reduced blue stilton back on the shelf yesterday though, when I realised that I was the only one in the house that likes it, and the use by date was the fifth.
I dont suppose it matters if your scales are wrong as long they are consistently wrong, because it will show what you are losing, just not the proper start weight?0 -
Hello all and a big thank you to Brambling for running the thread. I'd like to set my target for this quarter at 7lbs please.
I've been full of cold all over Christmas and I've self medicated with alcohol. It's a good job that I don't need a liver function test any time soon .... I've eaten all of the chocolate so that's out of the way tooI do have some roquefort in the fridge but I can be trusted to pace myself with that. My cooking mojo seems to have left the building unfortunately. I've managed to make the appropriate roast dinners along the way (which made the cat very happy - she's had a small serving of chicken, turkey or beef leftovers out of the fridge for the best part of a week) but everything else seems a bit too much effort.
Sorry that you've had such an awful day honeythewitch. I'd have had a chippy dinner too.0
