Food today.
Bacon butty.
Very large plate of spaghetti bolognaise. (I am thinking if I have a bigger dinner I might be too full for picking)
Grapes and cherries.0 -
Well I ended yesterday badly, after posting here I should have had nothing more but I found a bar of white choc in the cupboard and I "tidyed it up" all gone so cant do that again.
Today was a visit to science museum, lots of walking, standing and a lovely 3 salad lunch, dressed lettuce, cauliflower and beetroot and walnuts. Came with a pita.
Back to friends house after and had baked potato with cheese and coleslaw.
Snack a few brazils and walnuts.
Def going to bed after posting so no more food today.WL 11 st 5lb as at 050109. 160209 11st 2lb

Well done to all who have lost
I do like the idea of emergency gin! I giggled a bit at reading about your panettone Bramble - that’s exactly what I would end up doing
Don’t want to jinx myself but I’ve had a much better couple of days food wise. Just hoping I can be sensible over the weekend. I aim to make wise choices if we end up eating out.
I’m full of admiration for the couch25k-ers, and those who are racking up high step counts.
A bit of extra exercise is something I need to build into my day; I’ll tackle that very soon!
Have a good day all0 -

Well done Cranky :T I do like it when it works that way, I hate it when you think you have been really good and the scales say different
FrugalLina I hope you're feeling better today . A gin collection !! now there's a great ideaI once shocked a Texan colleague by telling her I had brought local gin in the farmers market, especially as if you want 'hard liquor' you have to go to the liquor store there, she was all for moving to the Uk if you can buy gin in the farmers market :rotfl:
Back in the office today so hopefully back on track
B - Porridge and fruit
L - HM Chicken soup

Hello everyone
I’m hoping I can be sensible over the weekend too Bfh. I find it much harder than weekdays to stay with the plan.
Brambling could you please put me down for -4.5lbs thanks.
I know most of that will be water weight.
Week 1 hasn’t been too bad, I’ve managed to enjoy a savoury breakfast every day this week though I much prefer sweet.
I’m another chocolate connoisseur and include some in my food plan everyday. It’s non negotiable :rotfl:
I also love gin :beer:though no emergency bottles here. I switch to vodka when I’m slimming which I can drink with soda and a squeeze/ squish of fruit instead of tonic.
I didn’t manage any excercise at all this week, I have lots of excuses. Need to make some effort to move more this week.
Today’s plan
Breakfast - boiled egg, 1/3 avocado, baby spinach and peanut chilli sauce. Coffee with milk.
Snack : coffee with milk. Tangerine
Lunch : iceberg lettuce, cherry tomatoes, ham and cheese, salad cream. Cup of tea with milk.
Snack: cup of tea with milk, sliver of gluten free homemade fruit cake.
Dinner: roasted veg chicken traybake with wilted spinach.
Snack: chocolate tree decoration
Have a lovely day allOld Style Weight Loss Challenge 2025

Wow, well done Cranky40 and Gingerlily on your losses this week. :T
Honeythewitch, I think a satisfying main meal will help reduce evening picking. Let us know if it helped you.
ooh, I would have had to tidy up that white chocolate too, Procrastinator, can't have messy half-eaten chocolate bars hanging around, cluttering up the place, lol! :rotfl:
Bfh, just try and move more if you can, you don't have to go hell for leather straight away, gradually increasing is much safer and better psychologically, I have found.
You are fortunate to have a gin supplier at your farmers market, Brambling. There is a wonderful shop near here where they stock some delightful gins, but I see the supermarkets are getting in on the action now. I was lucky enough to go to a gin sampling fair a couple of years ago and I learnt a lot about different processes and about mixers and additions to enhance flavours. It was very interesting and I was rather pink on the bus home.
I am still feeling quite rough with this cold, my asthma has kicked in as it usually does when I am ill, so my sleep was interrupted a lot last night.
Have a great Friday everyone! :A31.5/1000 -
Morning All
Jackrabbit I hope your visit with your son went well
Honey Well done on the loss :T, if I'd known I was doing that well I would probably have used it as an excuse to indulge in another chelsea bun
Dumpling Well done to your husband for the pie and I hope you lurked long enough to get past your cravings.
Sirens I hope you enjoyed Star Wars. I still haven't got round to going so really should try to fit it in next week.
Blue Doggy Sorry, it's My Fitness Pal. Even though I'm trying not to get too obsessed about calories I do find it quite handy for logging food and exercise. I love your idea of putting notes on snacks. I might have to start trying that.
Brambling The dangers of working from home!! I hope you enjoyed the panettone and that there are fewer temptations in the office.
Frugalina I hope you recover from the lurgy soon. It's never easy to diet but when you're struggling with other stuff it seems so much harder. I like the sound of your gin cupboard
Cranky Well done on the loss :T Good luck with running and giving blood. I haven't been able to for a while (low iron) but am hoping that eating healthily might help with that.
Procrastinator I hope you enjoyed the science museum and I had to laugh at 'tidying' the chocolate. It sounds so like something I would do.
Bfh Well done on a good couple of days and best of luck for sticking to it over the weekend. I find that I have to have planned my meals very carefully to have even the faintest chance of sticking to a diet at the weekend.
Gingerlily Wow, 4.5lb!! :T That's a very impressive first week and well done for sticking to savoury breakfasts even though they're not your preference.
I'm quite pleased that I actually managed to stick totally to the plan yesterday and no snacks or nibbles made their way in. Today's plan is:
B - fruit, yoghurt & bran flakes
L - leftover spag bol from last night
D - butternut, spinach and feta pie (home-made, from the freezer) with loads of veg
If I get time this weekend I might try to get some batch cooking done to make it easier to stick to the plan next week.
Have a great weekend everyone xx0 -
Well done Cranky and Gingerlily, thats a brilliant result, and water weight or not, its better off your hips!
I have had porridge (half and half with oat bran) marmite on toast, (lots) and a thick slice of roast pork.
Later, the plan is for chicken breast, gravy, mash and as much vegetables as I can fit on the plate, followed by whatever fruit is on offer in Aldi.
Oh! Talking of plates, I got a couple of "portion plates" from B&M the other day. I think they were only £1.35 each, and are proper plates, not plastic, and printed with quarter protein, quarter carbs, and half vegetables, which might serve as a gentle reminder.0 -
Good evening everyone
Wow! There have been some big losses! Well done gingerlily and Cranky40 :j:j
Izadora thank you. Keeping track via a log is very helpful. My notes-to-self get quite rude, a favourite is “how fat do you want to be?” but they do mostly work.
FrugalLina I hope you’re feeling better today, and managed to sleep better last night.
Honeythewitch your portion plates sound like a helpful idea!
Brambling I had similar dilemmas with pannetone and a disappointingly marzipan-less stollen. They were both considered as candidates for bread-and-butter pudding, but when I ran out of hm bread they were voted in for toast-and-marmalade duty.
I had a tussle with Senior (canine) Doggy this afternoon, he is very old and has arthritis, and will only accept being groomed in short sessions. Today I had to clean an ear and do some trimming as well, so took longer than he was comfortable with and he got very wriggly and nearly fell off the grooming table a couple of times. I had to hold him with one arm and work with the other.
Today’s menu:
B: steamed cod with fennel
L: ham omelette with salad of chicory and carrot
D baked salmon with cauliflower and green beans, followed by cinnamon yogurt
S: small nip of brandy and some olives after grooming session (de-stressor)
