{{{Hugs}}} Laura, and best wishes for a smooth operation and an easy recovery.

In the meantime, I have A Dilemma; the plan B dress for DS2's wedding (in "Ruby Rose Pinks & Cream" in a sort of floral pattern, & floaty, with matching silk bolero) has arrived, fits well, & the family have decreed that that's The One I should wear. So the hunt is on for headgear, footwear & a suitable bag, but in the meantime - coupons or no coupons? It was advertised as "used - in lovely condition" (which it certainly is) so I was thinking not, but it does actually have its original Jacques Vert tags attached, which look as if they've never been removed. Off the back of a lorry, perhaps...? Is it "new" or does it count as secondhand?

No coupons - if it isn't bought from the shop which sold it as new, then it is second-hand even if unworn. And not-buying-new is the aim for the rationing coupon system, then as now.
