Oooh oooh ooh - can I run the market stall, please? I promise not to compete with Lisa's craft shop directly. My supplies will be off the back of the finest lorries, offered in a selection of easy-to-close-&-scarper suitcases, coupons not always needed if you happen to have a pound of sausages going spare...Angie - GC Aug25: £207.73/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)7

CraftyLittleLisa said:Here is the dolls house. The ground floor is the shop/workshop. The room on the first floor on the left is the sewing room/office. I'm not good with names so all I can think of is just Little Lisa's. Open to suggestions.2023 Fashion on the Ration: Start with 66. Nightdress - 6 = 60 remaining.5

Well the village sounds delightful!!!
Could I request a hobbit style house on the outskirts, near the river?
My agoraphobic hippy little self will come out to town periodically, with a basket for goods that I've whittled from local wood, and other such things.... and the children will refer to me as the local witch, with my strangely coloured hair - harmless but a little weird

Hmmm...could I find a house near water (preferably salt water, but I'll manage with a lake or river) with big windows and plenty of counter space for cooking? I'm a bit worried about wintering over in a place that's much cloudier than Texas - I've never lived somewhere that wasn't regularly under drought conditions with bright sunshine in the winter. Well...there was that 4-month stint in New Jersey, but we don't talk about that much.2023 Fashion on the Ration: Start with 66. Nightdress - 6 = 60 remaining.7

Rest assured, Little Mending on the Borrow is nothing like New Jersey - well, going by that incident last year with that GI. Didn't they say *he* was from Noo Joisey? Hmmm.... *::nods knowingly::*
And the house has very large kitchens - I believe at one point they took in P.G.s - paying guests - and had an extra-large kitchen fitted.
We'll look after you, don't worry. Plenty of firewood to keep you toasty and warm, and some lovely walks in the autumn leaves and then the crisp frosts will keep you all perked up and cheerful - Little Mending is perfectly situated for having proper snowy Christmases, as well as its lovely warm summers...
(Gosh, this is becoming more real by the day - by Christmas we'll actually be standing in the square singing Christmas carols, won't we?! )2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

I have been thinking about the name for the local newspaper. My dad and his chums always referred to the paper for here (L*dlow Advertiser) as the L*udlow Liar, the one for South Somerset/West Dorset is The Western Gazette, but often re-named the Western Gusset, so I think whatever we come up with it should defo be a Gazette/Gusset.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. @maddiemay - well, its offices are over in Much Mending, and you know what *they* can be like, so it's probably called something ludicrously grand for a tiny local rag! "The Much Mending and All Borrows Clarion Tribune and Gazette" os some such daft name...2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

I have been reading along about the village of Little Mending on the Borrow 👏 and thoroughly enjoying it. How about Lisa’s Loopers or Lisa’s Looping. Buns Bakery, Granny’s GreenGrocers , Little Mending Marauders for the ladies cricket team. Does the bakery include a tea shop?By the way - are men allowed into our cluster of villages? How about ‘Milk & Muddy Bottom’ for the local Farm? What a wonderful dolls house 😃 I remember owning a two storey dolls house with electric lights 🥳 No idea what happened to it ☹️Anyway I shall wander off to the village pond & feed the ducks 😉Be Kind. I think we should just call it the Mended Gusset. That'll put them on their place. If we're having dibs on houses, I'd like that nice little cottage, not too far from the Post Office. The one with the walled garden at the back. I could manage provided Old Bill Wot Does could do the heavy stuff for an hour or two a week...A budget is like a speed sign - a LIMIT not a TARGET!!

Away from Much Mending on the Borrow.... My Intended goes off tomorrow morning first thing, and we hope he's home again on Wednesday, possibly even Tuesday, with the surgery all being successful.
I am sitting on a sack filled with the Octopuses of Panic and every time I think I've got them subdued, a tentacle gets out and grabs my guts and squeezes hard and I have to wrestle it back into the sack and sit on it firmly.2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:
