My hours at work have really built up, so I've booked 4 flexi days over the next couple of weeks. Today is my first. The kids are in school and afterschool club so we've got the whole day to ourselves and getting on with stuff. DH is taking the opportunity to tidy the extension where my 'office' is, so that will be nicer if he manages it.
He's also pulled out of the garage some stuff to go including a massive box which is just full of nothing else but plastic bags! It is something we inherited with the house. Why the hell it wasn't gotten rid of years ago, I don't know! I didn't know it was out there. A huge box, full of rubbish taking up space that can be used by something we actually want to keep 🙄 I despair sometimes!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Normally I would but they are not carrier bags, they are assorted size plastic bags, from small food bag size up to about A4. I don't think I can offer them to anyone realistically, as they are likely to be very dusty and impossible to clean. (In all honesty, they are probably degrading too as they are likely to be donkeys years old, we've been here nearly 11 years, and they were probably here for years before that)!

DH is making an effort, it helps that he's furloughed, so he's got the time while the kids are at school. It's definitely nice to get rid of stuff before Christmas, and nice to have a good clean too before putting the decs up!

We've got rid of a fair amount of stuff today, hurrah! I've been tidying too.
I joy checked my bookmarks 😆 who would have thought that could be a category. I got rid of 26 and still have a huge pile. The ones I got rid of were very worn and tatty, and I don't see the point in keeping those when I have lots of nice ones!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". A box full of bags!? Bet you want to check every box in there now. As you say 11 year old bags aren't good to anyone. That was an easy win.

We would normally use them for our ebay stuff, but on this occasion they will have to go sadly. It does make me feel a bit sick to be honest. I don't like throwing stuff away, and even though they weren't ours, it's just so shockingly wasteful"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". No one would consider you wasteful jwil. And I think its positive you know when something is beyond repurposing. Plus its good hes seeing just how useless it is to keep things so long. XxxLoan 1 £5200/£8000

I must say I've been guilty of keeping stuff because I don't want to put it in the bin too. I do now realise that there's no point in using my house as a landfill site if nothing else can be done with the item!
