Lots of positives going on jwil. I lost 3lbs but it was my first week. I find snacking the hardest thing to overcome especially in the evenings. I bought a cross stitch kit to keep my fingers busy.
Lighter mornings and evenings are coming and a bit of sunshine, like today, seems to lift the spirits.
Have a good week.1 -

Well done, that's brilliant! Good thinking about the cross stitch kit. I can't wait for the lighter mornings. Loving the sun though.savingholmes wrote: »Hi JWIL - good luck with digging out your pensions paperwork and making a plan.

I haven't posted for a few days, my mood took a real dip.
I have decided to ditch SW for now. It's not happening for me, I've given it a good shot for over a year, but I've just not got any motivation. It's not doing my mental health any good sitting there every week knowing that I've not achieved anything yet again. I went to a different group to see if a change of group would motivate me, but that made me feel even worse as there was a 3.5lb gain, even though my own scales were saying a maintain/loss.
I'm going to focus on improving my habits and try to eat like a 'normal' person who has what they want when they want (within reason) and self moderates. That is what that appetite doctor book is about, and I've been looking at a few other books on intuitive eating.
So, instead, I've booked to do aqua aerobics. I used to go 20 odd years ago and used to love it. A work colleague of mine asked if I wanted to go with her, so I jumped at the chance. The money I was spending on SW will go towards this now instead. The exercise will also help with my mental health. It will also free up the time for me to walk to school on the Thursday, which will be another hour's exercise benefitting both me and the kids.
I'm not giving up on trying to lose weight, I will loosely follow the SW principles at home, but am ignoring syns. I'm just going to focus on building heathier eating patterns and trying to break my emotional eating habit. I will keep an eye on my weight at home, I don't want to put on what I have lost, but that is not my main goal at the moment.
I can't wait for next week and payday! It's seemed a long month.
DH has been continuing to sell stuff, although he had 2 non-payers on bulky items which is annoying

I think you've made a sensible decision, especially if you're now able to go to a weekly exercise class.
That's a shame about the non payers, hopefully they'll resell quickly. Hope you have a good rest of the day.

Sorry to hear thatIt's so demoralising seeing no movement on the scales. I feel much better for stepping away for now. Are you still going?

We took the kids back swimming yesterday after their lessons, as little jwil has now started swimming unaided and he wanted to practice :T I was looking at the membership plans online, and I might consider it if I do commit to regularly going. While we were at the pool, there was a sign up saying that discounted membership is available to those whose children are having swimming lessons. I'll see how I get on and might look into getting that. It's no contract so there's no worry about signing up to anything that I'm tied into.
DH sold a few things over the weekend and I sold an item overnight :T
Not much else to report, a quiet weekend really.
Hope everyone is well x"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney1 -
I'm not the best person to advise on dieting but a common theme I find (including for myself although I'm not what you would class as "normal") is: everything in moderation. If you want a white bread sandwich, have a white bread sandwich, just don't have 10 white bread sandwiches. If you want a chocolate biscuit, have a chocolate biscuit, just don't have a whole packet. Etc, etc, you get the idea. It's easy for me because I am in control of what I eat, I make the meals, I do the shopping and it doesn't hurt me to put on a bit of weight if my boyfriend cooks something rich and creamy. I know it's harder for others but it's not really about what one eats, it's about the volume of food. Smaller portions is good. For some reason people think they have to fill a plate with food (looking at my mother here
) but actually, that is not necessary. Getting smaller plates can help. When your body gets used to eating less it doesn't need as much.
I really hope I haven't offended anyone with what I've said here. jwil this was not all directed at you either, it's just what I've found from chatting with various people over the years.
I love swimming as exercise, it's my favourite. It's the weightless floating, you don't realise how much effort you're actually putting in.
I hope you enjoy the aqua aerobics as much as you did beforeMortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
