It definitely helps ensuring all the savings are moved at the start of the month.

Happy payday! I've made all payments, and most of the DDs will be out tomorrow.
We're not doing much today as I have several parcels due to arrive. So we've started on the great declutter. The kids have already decided that they don't want to keep their trains, so that's two boxes gone. They are currently making birthday cards for DH.
I've caught up on surveys and redeemed a £5 amazon voucher. I'm going to transfer the £5 in cash to the mortgage. I don't always do that when it's a voucher but as it's payday I won't miss it.
I've just had a phone call from the window company with a date for the kids bedroom window to be done. Hurrah! So much for not spending so much in September thoughIt will make a big difference though. I guess we should have another go at finding an electrician then we could get that room completed. I'm not sure I'm up to the challenge yet though given that we've had so much trouble so far.
Hope everyone has a good day"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5 -

Finally, I feel like I've achieved something today. For the first time in years, there are no kids toys stacked on the floor in the middle room! Hurrah! They are all contained within the boxes or the cupboard. It looks so much better out there, I actually have a floor. We've got 2 bags of stuff ready to go, but it can't go yet until I sort through all the storage boxes, as there are some bits missing.
There's still more sorting and tidying needed, but at least it's all contained now. Next job is to tackle their room again."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee4 -

I signed up to one of those fundraisers that are often on FB, this one is walking 50 miles in September. I wasn't intending on publicising it, and was just going to make a donation myself. Whilst I was trying to figure out how to remove it from my timeline, someone sponsored me. Now I've actually got to do it
Oh well, it's a good thing really
The kids want to go to the park today and I've got to go and pick up my prescription. Hopefully I can knock off a mile or so
Most of the DDs have come out today, so I can see where I am for the rest of the month. I'm definitely going to try and spend less this month!
DH has shifted the two bags of toys and moved them out of the house, so at least they are not hanging around.
We've sold two items on ebay and have bids on a few more ending later, so some more stuff will be going"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3 -
I took the kids to two parks this morning, so they were happy. I also picked up the prescription. I haven't quite knocked off the mile, so I'll count 1/2 mile if I get desperate
We'll go out for a proper walk on Saturday and Sunday.
When we came home I tackled the kids bedroom. Again, it still needs a bit of sorting, but I've got everything tidied away and the floor is almost clear. I hoovered through upstairs and dusted in our bedroom. I need to sort through their bookcases as well. I got the kids to tidy their desks and clear those. The house is looking much tidier and it feels so much better. I think we're getting towards 'very cluttered' rather than 'hoarded' which is a huge thing!
I haven't spent today apart from my prescription, so that's good too
DH has sold 13 items this evening, so lots more to go, and it will clear those items and some of the boxes that we've been storing as well.
I'm feeling shattered, and because the house is looking pretty tidy, I'm hoping to have a lazy day tomorrow and just snuggle up with a book. I will need to go out and get some wrapping paper for DH's birthday gifts and a cake as little miss won't let us get away without one!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
