I feel you on the car fuel bill. DH filled my car up this week - over £52 and it wasn't even on empty. On top of that his car had an issue and wouldn't start so we had to call the breakdown people - luckily there was no charge (part of bank account). Still cars don't like being idle... I drove 100 miles the other day and my leg ached afterwardsAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I've just picked up my cat from the vets. She's hardly got any teeth left now bless her, and I'm over £400 lighter, but she's been given a clean bill of health, and no other issues thankfully! All her bloods were excellent and the vet said that's unusual given her age (nearly 15). We've been told to up her food a bit to see if that helps with the weight loss, so she'll be happy once her mouth stops hurting as she's always asking for more. She did come in and go straight up to her food bowl. 😆"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Happy weekend everyone! It's lovely and sunny out there at the moment. I'm really looking forward to the mini heat wave heading our way - just wish it was for the following week when I'm off. Today I plan on making a start on a spring clean. The house is looking grubby and worse in the sun, so time to get scrubbing.
I've shuffled the money around, and I think I'm still roughly where I was last month, even with the vet bill, so that's good. I've been dong my pads every day so still making slow progress."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". All sounds so positive @jwil - you don't realise what an inspiration you are to others and especially me 😁. Please can I ask a bit of a daft techquestion? I recently copied you & bought an iPad but not sure how to access MSE forum (I am still using my kindle to read everyone's diary but I hate using it to comment!) - which browser do you use & do you bookmark pages?
I know you aren't on holiday until next week but doesn't life feel so much more relaxed now the children are on hols? Mine have no homework so a proper break ☺ I hope you have a wonderful weekend xx8 -

Congrats on the ipad! I love mine. I've downloaded google chrome and access the forums through that. I bookmark all the threads I follow on here (it's at the top of the page) and then when I go back into them it remembers where I got to. I just leave the tab open on chrome.
Mine are still in school at the moment, they break up on Wednesday. But yes I am looking forward to not doing the school run and no home schooling even if it's only for one day before I'm off 😁
Hope you have a lovely weekend too"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5 -

Have a lovely weekend 🙂.DH's car bill went on his CC but we have plans to pay it off, so hopefully won't be there too long. I'll pay the rest of the money I owe for my car to his cc instead of the savings, and he'll shift the rest from his savings/ebay sales.

One more day at school for the kids, and two more at work for me. Lots to do though 😱
I've been continuing with the spring clean and the house is starting to look better. Still lots to do though, and I'm just trying to do a little bit at a time. The bathroom and kitchen have both been scrubbed top to bottom. If I can keep the motivation up over the Easter holidays then that should make a nice difference to the feel of the house.
We had the boiler serviced today and no problems there thankfully.
We're trying to get alternate quotes for the windows but the calls are not being returned so we are struggling. DH has spoken to an electrician today, so fingers crossed we'll hear from him soon.
