I've found out that student finance for part time courses opens for applications in June, so I don't have to do anything for a while.  I'm only going to do it if I can get finance, otherwise I'll put it off a bit longer.  I've registered for the qualification, but can register for the individual modules at any time so I'm not committed to anything at this stage.

DH's car has been in the garage today for it's expensive repair, and he has also been back to work.  It's been lovely having the house to myself!  We've had the quote for the windows and it's a little more expensive than we were hoping so we'll probably see about getting an alternative quote to compare.  It's a shame we can't get the company we wanted to use as we had experience with them.  I had a figure in my head and it's about £150 more than that, but I don't know whether my figure was in anyway realistic so best to get an idea.

I had a reply from my final card today about the F&F.  Unsurprisingly they rejected the offer, but did counter offer with about a 20% discount.  Not enough for now, but it's good to know there's potential for the future.

DH's car bill was even more than expected and over £1k 😱  That's a bit painful, but it was definitely needed.

I hope you get the finance. Learning/education is always worth doing. Always a n enhancement to your life, sometimes in unexpected ways...You can lose your home or your job (hopefully not) but learning/education, is yours and cannot be taken away. Good luck with it.

Thank you all.  Ouch indeed.  What's worse is DH says it's still not right so there might be something else needing doing :(

Today I have booked the boiler service and had a tidy round.  It makes a difference having the house to myself!  I can potter around in my lunch break.  I've been doing well with the healthy eating so far this week too which is always good.  We've walked to school each day apart from today as little miss fell yesterday and has very badly grazed her knees, so they were quite painful.  Today is the first day I have driven since  Christmas, and I filled my car up for the first time since probably November or December.  It was a bit of a novelty (and more expensive) 😆
