I decided this morning to try and get my work paper finished so it wouldn't be preying on my mind. I thought I'd put in a couple of hours, but I've spent the whole day doing it and still not finished 😱 I am going to try and finish tomorrow, I don't think I have too much more to do. I've got to wade through three massive documents, so that's time consuming. At least I'll get the time back at some point, and I'll still have the rest of this week and next.
I had a massive row with DH last night in the middle of the night as he was keeping me awake with his snoring. I had a rant about how we have a spare bedroom I could retreat to if he'd bother to empty it! I then huffed down to the sofa where I had to put up with the dog snoring instead 🙄 That put me in a grump today, hence avoiding everything by working.
I moved my car today to make space for my grocery delivery and realised that one of my wiper blades has perished, and another one is just about to go. So that's an expense I wasn't expecting. I've ordered them though and it wasn't too much thankfully. I ordered an individual leek in my shopping and they've sent me the world's biggest one. It is longer than my microwave and almost as thick as my arm! It would have been cheaper to order a multipack 😆"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Glad that I live on my own!
One of the reasons I am not the biggest fan of home delivery is some of the silly things they deliver.
I once ordered pepsi max & got nada & even the delivery person commented.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. DH's snoring must be frustrating. My DH used to keep me awake with his snoring as he has sleep apnoea, but now he has a cpap machine so doesn't snore any more and it's such a relief. Do you wear ear plugs? I used to find that ear plugs made it more bearable. I hope your anxiety improves but you seem to have techniques that help it.
Enjoy your two weeks holiday, it's so lovely to have time for things other than work and not be watching the clock all the time.

I was never a fan of home delivery either, but I've been using it the last year and I've got used to it now. I'm lucky that most of the time it's been fine, but there have been occasions where I have had problems. I'll probably stick with it until I go back to work and then reconsider then as I used to do my shop on the way in and store it in a cool box in the car. It was always nice and quiet then!HairyHandofDartmoor said:DH's snoring must be frustrating. It's very lovely having some time off work, and I like just pottering around and getting stuff done!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee4 -
Today me and the kids went out for a walk and then a visit to the playpark. It was lovely and bright out. I thought about popping into the supermarket on the way back but there was a massive queue! I then came home and finished my report for work so I consider myself properly on holiday now 😁😁 It was sunny this afternoon and it's not meant to be again for a while, so this afternoon I sat in the sun with my book. I'll try and get some stuff done with the rest of the week."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Glad you got your report done. I got fed up of DH's snoring and bought him a new bed in what used to be my study LOL. Solved that problem... although it took a while for it to dawn on him that it was a long term thing...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I got good feedback for my report so I'm happy that I made the effort"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee4 -
I've actually taken the kids out every day so far, it's the most I've left the house for a year 😆 We went out for a walk early this morning, so now the kids are playing, and I'm going to try and get some stuff done.
Junior parkrun starts up at the weekend and the kids want to go, so I've registered little miss (it's the first time she's been eligible) and DH will probably go around with her as he's quicker than me.
I'm now nearly 5lb down, so happy with thatIf I can lose just over a stone, I'll be back to where I was a year ago, so will feel like I can properly start losing weight. At the moment, I feel like I'm just playing catch up.
I've got a load of books to go so am going to look at some of the book buying sites today to see if I can get any cash for them. I've also got a couple of listings to do.
I emailed the window company we managed to get a quote from and asked them to book us in. We haven't managed to get a response from anyone else. Hopefully they will reply and book us in even if we have to wait a while. DH has spoken to the electrician who suggests June. At least it gives us time to save more.
My two debts who did not come back with an alternative offer wrote to me again asking for my I&E so they could consider my offers. I have sent it to them, and told them there's no more than what I offered. I'm not expecting anything, but if they do miraculously accept, I can still cover it.
We are due to go to Cornwall in a few weeks. At the moment it looks like we will be able to go. That will be so nice to get away for a bit. We're not likely to do much other than go to the beach and go for walks so will still be keeping away from everyone and we don't tend to eat in restaurants or drink anyway."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
