Happy weekend everyone

Hope everyone is well. I had my appraisal this week at work and all has gone well. I managed to address a couple of issues too which is good.
I've got the new Stephen King book today so that's my weekend sorted
It was only £3.50 as well so very bargainous. I had
some vouchers so it didn't cost me anything either.
Council tax is up £8 a month this year
Water is up a couple of £ as well. Oh well, at least it's not an issue like it's been in the past.
I did pay £10 to the mortgage today from survey money, and I've withdrawn another £10 today so will do the same tomorrow. I've been padding away as well.
I'm hoping to do some cleaning this weekend. The house feels grubby.
Have a good weekend everyone

It's such a lovely feeling having a debt paid off and closed 😁. Well done on your good work appraisal👏.
We've had a letter from the council tax but I couldn't face opening it to see how much it's gone up, I know it won't be good news though 😒. £8 a month is quite a lot to go up isn't it? What band are you in?

It's quite a bit, they've put it up almost the full 5%. We are in band C and pay over 10 months so it's £80 for the year.HairyHandofDartmoor said:It's such a lovely feeling having a debt paid off and closed 😁. Well done on your good work appraisal👏.

Ouch - mine has gone up a similar amount too. Given that all the utility bills have also gone up during lockdown it isn't great.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Yes, I agree. I'm lucky in that I'm saving elsewhere, but it's going to be difficult for so many.savingholmes said:Ouch - mine has gone up a similar amount too.
