Good idea on some sort of tablet.Sarahwithlove said:Have a look on amazon I got my ipad air the older version on there for less than £200 and it does all of above and has a good screen size.astrocytic_kitten said:I got a refurbished iPad mini on eBay a few years ago, I think from Argos. I love my traditional kindle but I use the iPad heavily for library ebooks, newspapers and magazines. My local library has a brilliant selection and it’s probably paid for itself just in books I’ve read for free. I also read using the kindle app on the iPad a lot more than I expected, I thought I’d stick to my kindle for that but it’s probably more like 50/50. I use the iPad for so much that I hardly ever use my laptop now (which is just as well because it’s so old it practically runs on steam 😂).Parkyp said:I bought a refurbished iPhone on Envirofone came with a 12 months warranty, there was not even a scratch on it. They also do iPads/tablets might be worth a look.
Ooh thanks for the advice everyone, I'll have a good look around and see if I can get anything cheaperbeanielou said:Or look at Amazon warehouse.

Thank you. One down, one to go. Little jwil looks much better, but hates having it done so it's not easy!savingholmes said:Well done on the surveys. Both haircuts done, and they both look much better now!
We've done a bit of baking today, and a bit of tidying but not much else.
I have splashed out and bought the ipad 😱 I had a good look around everyone's suggestions, and eventually purchased an ipad and a case from Amazon Warehouse and got both for less than the ipad price, and even better a second discount appeared when I checked out
Thank you @beanielou
Both are new, but damaged boxes.
So now I've just got to hope I get some birthday money
I had £8 in vouchers on my account, I've got £10 in PA and £25 on the way from One Poll. DH says he will contribute, and I might get some cash from my family. So hopefully I'll only have had to pay around £100 from my own money. I'll see what I can earn back to get my savings back up before the end of the month
I'm very close to cash out on You Gov, so it would be fab if I managed that, though they've stopped sending me surveys very often. "Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5 -

You've saved me some money
I wouldn't even have looked at Amazon without Beanie's suggestion, the ipads were showing as out of stock and I was just going to use argos. I love this site for exactly that reason, all the suggestions people made gave me lots of different optionssavingholmes said:Fantastic Jwil on the IPad discounts - I should have done that with my DD! Well done on the haircuts.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone
💖
I was hoping to tackle the patio again today, but it's raining, so I might have a go tomorrow instead. Thankfully it's several degrees warmer today, long may it last.
My folks were due to have their vaccines today, but the snow is bad up there, so not sure if they will. Hopefully they'll get them next week if not. They are still working so it would be good to know they are done.
I've started the task of putting the money back for the ipad. I have withdrawn from PA, and will try and save some on my groceries this week, as I want to start using the stash I built up last year. I'll use up what's in the cupboards and then replenish it again to make sure nothing gets forgotten or wasted.
I've got some listing to do as well, so will crack on with that.
Have a good day everyone."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5 -
