I've had a shock today, I found out that my ex died of Covid yesterday ๐Ÿ˜ขย  It's knocked me for six.ย  I feel like a bit of a fraud as I've had zero contact with him for not far off 20 years, but we were together for 7 years, and although it was totally the right thing to do to split up, we had some good times together and I have lots of fond memories.ย  I was browsing a fb group that I don't normally go into very often, and spotted a post from a relative of his who's name I recognised.

I don't have any mutual friends who knew him so don't really have anyone to reminisce with.ย  We had one close mutual friend but she died a couple of years ago.ย  I feel like a whole part of my life has been wiped away now :(

Sorry to hear your news Jwil. I know from experience FB is not a great way of finding out someone we cared about has died. It's natural to grieve. 7 years is a very long time to have been together even if it was some time ago now. Hugs. I found with my friend's recent death, it was as much the shock - and the pent up grief of the whole situation - as much as about her as an individual. It puts a face to the huge statistics quoted to us every day and makes it so much harder.ย
