  • Aw you lot are truly lovely, amazing, beautiful people. I can't believe how many of you have taken the time to reply to me - it is really, very much appreciated,
I confess to just being exhausted. Not emotional - just absolutely shattered - still a bit in disbelief if I'm honest, and now worrying and looking for excuses and reasons for things to fail now. So I'm now worried about whether or not I will actually get a mortgage now that I've run up so much debt - I filled in an online form for L&C and asked them to call me, but I assume I must be a bit of a lost cause because they haven't called me. I don't know much about mortgages if I'm completely honest - I was duped when I was pregnant with dd into one of those N0rthern R0ck mortgages where you could borrow 100% of the house value, and then I couldn't get out of it when I was in a dmp and they went bust. L&C helped me to get the mortgage I currently have - so f0xh0les, if the offer is there then I may just be asking you to explain mortgages to me in very simple terms. All I'm thinking now is that I have too much unsecured debt to get a mortgage, but even if I add the debt into the outstanding mortgage balance then I would be asking to borrow less than 2x my salary and less than 75%LTV - so I thought it might be doable. I will remain hopeful that L&C will ring me back. I'll get some more detailed figures from my current mortgage provider in the meantime.
It's been a long day today - I'm very tired indeed. My poor Year 10 class who have missed me the past 3x I've been in court gave me cheers and a round of applause when I told them I wasn't going back again. Hopefully I can actually get on and teach them now.
I still have over 100 papers to mark as well and less than 3 days to mark them so I'd best get on. I will be back on properly and joining in by the weekend so I'll catch up then, but I just wanted to thank you all again for being so lovely.

I would suggest that you go to a mortgage broker if no joy.
    Hope marking goes well :)

75% and 2 x salary should be very doable, so chill, mark like crazy, have a weekend of relaxation and realisation that it is finally over then think about the mortgage and financial organisation afterwards :)

  • Subscribed threads - that's what I'm missing. I want to find out how everyone is doing.
I am getting an email every time someone updates a thread I'm subscribed too, but it's not the same.
    I don't like change either.
