Oooh thats a lovely photo!  :)
  • Morning all!

Feeling a tad more human today, and outside visits can be kept to a minimum as all I need to do is take a parcel to the post office, and pay some money into my bank, then I don't have anything else outdoorsy to do.

As it stands I am waiting for our Ocado delivery, then I can hotfoot it to the shower. The sooner I have run my errands, the sooner I can just relax for the day, although I still plan to try and get some solid work hours done if possible.

OH is still feeling really poorly but can't not go into work, he is under strict instructions to take it easy and keep very hydrated or else he will be in trouble with me!

I am also keen for the Ocado man to hurry up as he has hot cross buns for me and I fancy them for breakfast lol

Thanks to having done a quick sweep of the house yesterday, only little "top up" cleans need to be done today, I have some washing in and only have a small load left to do after that, the only other real "cleaning" that needs to be done is tidying and wiping down the bathroom, other than that there's REALLY not a lot I need to do today!

    Hope OH feels better soon.
You know when I read your post about 'top up cleans' - I thought do people really do that? Oh it's that adulting thing I am supposed to do - explains a lot.  B) TBF that's why I have a cleaner. I did try and get her to come twice a week but she didn't have a slot on the right days. I am good at one-off blitzes but not on maintaining.

I'm trying to really get in the habit of doing the top up cleans, otherwise I tend to waste my entire Saturday cleaning the house, only for it to be messy again when the kids descend the following day!

All errands run, taken our meter readings, and I have dug out my running medals to hang up on the wall at last, I have some weird idea in my head that seeing my medals out on display will help boost my self-esteem a little bit haha.

I'm avoiding the bathroom until later on, though admittedly it does feel much later in the day for me than it actually is, I usually am just starting to get things done on a Saturday and I have not much left to do at all

For now, I'm resting with my blanket as the walk to & from town wiped me out a little!
  • Happy belated birthday 🎂 & hope all goes well with the ultrasound. Sounds like a good decision on the job too, you did well getting as far as you did with it which should give you a confidence boost with applying to anything else that catches your eye.
I must admit to be another one who does top up cleans around the house, it's been essential while the boys are so young. I'm also amazed at what I can get done during an ad break on the rare occasion when I'm watching something on tv 😊 but as you say it then means you don't spend a day off cleaning.

I like the idea of putting up your running medals and using it as positive motivation. Perhaps pick a weekend when the rain isn't slanting sideways to go for another run...

  • Thank you both :)

The ultrasound went well, I am now "in the pipeline" for the injection treatment, he's not 100% sure if it will be successful as he would have expected the bursa that showed (fluid sac to provide smooth movements between joints, causes pain when inflamed and doesn't function properly) to be larger after a two-year ongoing painful period and it's also next to where I feel the pain, but he said that's all that's showing up and I could just be feeling the pain adjacent to the bursa. He's recommended the injection anyway as there's nothing to lose by trying it, and it'll rule out that as an issue if it doesn't help. Based on my research and the symptoms, though, I'm fairly confident this is it. I'd been nervous about asking him to say what he could see while he was doing the scan, but he said that as they were deciding whether or not to proceed with the injection he'd tell me so I'd know what his decision would be going forwards.

He also said it's an average of 12 weeks turnaround time at the moment but that they HAVE just taken on more staff so it could be quicker, then when he found out it's been ongoing for two years he said he would try and see if he could make it a priority request. So, still on the home stretch as far as I'm concerned, and feeling positive.

Nerve-wracking drive in this weather though! :open_mouth:

  • Thank you both :)

I'm still nowhere near 100% but back at work this morning fuelled by coffee, I will be having a seriously early night tonight. OH is still very much in the wars still feverish overnight and achy, but again needs must and he is going into work today, too. I literally cannot afford to be off as I have no company sick pay, in fact no benefits at all with the current job.

My priority now is finding a better job, one that does more than the bare minimum with the pension contributions, that has sick pay, a better holiday allowance, etc.

The only trouble is going to be trying to go for interviews when the only weekdays I can get off are annual leave days which require two weeks notice, but I'll work around things in some way or another.

I have discovered we have a local milkman where we live who does the doorstep glass bottles of milk, I am thinking of changing over this in a bid to cut down on our plastic usage, I'm also going to be looking into using shampoo bars to cut down on plastic, too.

I had planned to attempt the gym tonight but I think it will be another night with a blanket and dosing up on medicine :)
