You've made a start on lots of your targets, well done :T

I've read a lot of Harlan Coben books, how are the netflix series?

I really enjoyed "Safe", OH's teenage boy sat and watched it with me, too, and really enjoyed it.

I've watched two episodes of "The Stranger", this one I've read but can't really remember but it's good so far, got some well-known faces in, as has Safe :D
  • Good morning world :hello:

It's always so much harder to get up & go on a Monday than any other day! I can't complain too much, I'm only working four days this week as I have booked my birthday off, in hindsight I could have booked off the following day also and had a 4 day weekend, but I will probably need the holiday days for any further foot treatments

Our tumble dryer turned up at 7:30am, by 9am I had our first lot of washing in and drying. I must admit it's nice to have a quicker turnaround for bedding etc to be dry, it'll mean I can actually get all three beds washed and re-made over a weekend without having to do a constant shuffle of what is on the radiators. OH's shirts also seemed to come out much less creased, too, so that should make the ironing a bit easier.

As I had hoped, because I paid two sky bills in one month, my £50 cashback is coming at the end of this month now, and not the end of March :j

The main focus on this month is going to be sticking to my YNAB budget as closely as possible. I've already been slightly hindered by the fact I had to pay a service charge for the holiday we booked well in advance, I though I had more time as it's months and months away, so that was £75 I had to pay over the weekend else the holiday would have been cancelled. Thankfully, I clawed a few more hours work last month than I had expected, so I can re-balance the budget mid month. On a positive note, I got our weekly food shop on budget for the first time in ages, been getting a bit slack with that recently.

I also pay my last monthly car insurance payment this month :j :j
I am looking forward to seeing what my quotes are with my first year's NCD!

When it comes to paying the car insurance, I'll also look to pay my road tax in full, too, so that everything for the car in the legal sense is already paid up for the year.

Right, time to get some work done, and also look over my 20 things list and work out a way forwards with some of the ones that haven't got off to a good start yet :rotfl:

You're making loads of progress on your 2020 list and money goals. A decent tumble dryer makes the world of difference - glad you are enjoying yournew one.

    Thanks, I'll have a look :)

Great news about the tumble drier. I can't see how we managed without ours now. It's so nice not to have washing draped everywhere.

  • The tumble drier is indeed a godsend, a much quicker turnaround now with the washing and less chance of things smelling damp before they dry. We only really have three good-size radiators which isn't enough for a full load of washing. I got some of those airers that hook on the radiator but they're only really a little better than a normal airer, I find. At least now I only need to put the odd thing that can't be tumbled onto the radiators :)

Had a result yesterday, where I changed my number without much notice, it messed up my Airtime Rewards account as my bank card was then linked to two accounts, and only showing the transactions on the original account under my old number. Anyway, I raised a query and they've merged the two accounts, checked and I had accumulated around £23 in cashback which is waaaay more than I thought, so redeemed £20 off my phone bill for next month, and will probably get up to the next £5 before the cut-off.

I am going to TRY and get up tomorrow morning and do exercise in my time I now have free where I'm not sat on my phone in bed, not sure how well it will go but the intent is there at the moment :rotfl:

Good news re the tumble dryer - our old one broke a few months ago and its awful trying to cope without one, I think finding money in budget for this needs to be looked at lol. Also like the look of 'strange' so going to hopefully watch this over the next few days.

Good luck with trying to convince your morning self to get outta bed to exercise :rotfl::rotfl:

  • I'm not gonna lie, it didn't happen :rotfl: I got up with barely enough time to leave the house on time for work, then sat in traffic for over an hour and was late anyway :rotfl: good start to the day! I've given up stressing when accidents on the motorway make me late, sod all I can do about it by the time I'm in the traffic :o

I was just exhausted this morning, partly because 2 or 3 nights a week OH doesn't get in until 10/11 from work, and if I don't stay up for a bit to say hi, I just won't see him. It probably doesn't help that I know I'm off tomorrow, either.

On the shortlisted job front, they called me one more time and gave me two days notice for an assessment day, I reiterated that I can't do things on short notice as I work in the week anyway, the only way I could have gone would be to call in sick and go to the assessment day. However, as I work by myself here, that's not something I could have done, it gave me serious anxiety just thinking about doing it. I think in the long run it's better, as I think on the weeks I was on night shifts I literally wouldn't see OH or the kids, or would undoubtedly get woken up by the kids whilst trying to sleep in the day time, so probably for the best.

So, one long day to get through today, off tomorrow for my birthday, back in Friday then it's the weekend at last, and my ultrasound for my foot on Sunday, could be a worse few days :D
  • Ooooh, new forum! This will take some getting used to...

Just a flying visit, OH and I have both been off work today poorly both awake through the cold night hot, cold and achy so neither of us went in today which is extremely unlike both of us.

Not much has been done at all in light of that, I've just had a quick tidy up of the house whilst he has gone to fetch the small people but even after just a small bit I'm back on the sofa having a rest, not ideal but there you have it. At least it means less will need to be done tomorrow if I'm still not feeling 100%.

I have still managed to do a few hours SE work, and will try to get in a bit more later on but I suspect that it is going to be an early night for this household tonight, especially as OH wants to get into work early tomorrow to catch up anything he has missed today.

It has taken me nearly two days to change the account that pays into my LISA, it takes weekly payments rather than monthly and takes a few days to be taken out, so I figured it was just easier to use a separate account after having paid in the money monthly out of my normal budget, then it can just do its own thing whenever it needs to.

Missing the little emoticons I usually litter my posts with, but sure I'll get used to it eventually
