Hello :hello:
I hope everyone had a good weekend!
I finally tackled the route for my future cycling on Saturday, albeit later than I had planned as I napped, but I muddled my way through the 12/13km route in about 2.5 hours, though if I'd known what the paths would be like I probably would have worn my walking boots :rotfl: still, I'm confident I'll like it as a cycle route, though I'll stick to going in the daylight in future.
Ocado have kindly sent me 5 weeks worth of money off vouchers, so I think I will utilise those whilst they are there, and free up some of my time at the weekends.
My weekend was mostly spent tidying, I finally fixed the window switch on my car that I broke when I fixed the handle cable :rotfl: gave it a quick clean with the waterless wash I picked up ages ago, definitely worth purchasing IMO, ten minutes to get the car looking lovely with a quick once over when it's parked on the drive, great if you're on a budget or it's too cold to wash properly lol :rotfl:
Don't think I'm getting the £75 switch bonus from HSBC, I got some T's & C's in the post after inquiring on their live chat which mentions you need to use the CASS, I got a letter to complete it manually, so not sure it qualifies. I will phone up and ask, though, before I switch that account for the TSB referral bonus.
I managed to log a few hours work over the weekend, not much else got done though as my legs were a bit sore after the walk. OH wants to go to the gym tonight, so I will try and keep it to low-impact stuff as I'm still a bit sore.
I've come to realise that my weight gain can probably be attributed to the implant in my arm more than anything else, which means (I think?) I will probably have to work a bit harder to lose the weight as it is not just from over eating. As per usual, once my foot is fixed, it should drop off when I can get back to high-intensity workouts and runs!
Will catch up on diaries a bit later today, catching up some work this morning. Happy Monday! X0 -
just another note on the keeping off phone on morning,
i use it as an alarm, as many, but being android, i can set the alarm to:
go off, and then it turns the normal tones on / DND off, then it plays a podcast, and i listen to that as i lay and "come round".. so im not on the phone as such, and it's set to do the routine by itself, which inevitably saves me time, as i would have opened the apps myself and probably read news or fb as its playing!0 -
Hi MSE :hello:
Just quickly showing my face again, ploughing through work at the moment, on the home stretch to payday on Friday. Had to ask OH for a little bit of petrol money this morning, my fault for not reading the email properly about my first Sky bill, paid some money a few weeks ago then another direct debit came out yesterday, so that ate up the last of my money to tide me over! Thankfully, all I need is a few days' worth of petrol.
YNAB all primed and ready for next month, just waiting for the 1st of Feb to know how much I can factor in for my SE work, and work out what I can allocate where. Not going to be a lot at all as it has been a quiet month, but looks like it is picking up slowly.
Had a letter from HSBC yesterday saying they couldn't complete the switch as the information was (apparently) wrong, so I'll phone them and first just clarify whether all of this means I won't be eligible for the bonus. If I won't be, I won't bother, I have a TSB referral link to use to get their bonus instead.
Heading to my friend's for our weekly catch up tonight, as they are busy elsewhere later on in the week, but that's fine as it gives me a chill evening later on in the week when I probably need it more :rotfl:
We didn't make it to the gym, OH got caught in some really slow, heavy traffic, so by the time he got in he just wanted dinner and to relax.
Right, that's enough of a break for me, time to get back to work!0 -

Got a call from the HR department of the police call handler job I applied for, they confirmed I've been shortlisted and were seeing whether I could make an assessment day tomorrow as they have had someone drop out, politely thanked them but explained it was too short notice, so she will be in touch when their next dates come through
I know that's not a guarantee of anything as I'm sure it's perfectly possible they will fill the job(s) from the assessment day tomorrow, but good to know I have been shortlisted!0 -

Continuing the good news, the date for my ultrasound scan came through and it is next Sunday, so I won't need to lose a holiday day, and it is at the hospital nearest to me, so less travelling to do. It is at the crack of dawn (half 8 in the morning) so no lie-in, but to save a holiday day, I do not mind one bit.
Fingers crossed this is the home stretch, I anticipate needing an appointment with the woman from the hospital who referred me, then a separate appointment to have the injection treatment if this is indeed the best course of action.
Getting closer to pain-free!!0
