the anxiety will keep you keen and honest and should ensure you keep everything moving. my one bit of advice would be don't do the solicitor on the cheap, although I see you already have that covered.
Looking forward to it happening and then the virtual house warming
I hope you checked for squirrels before offering5 -
Huge congratulations on the house, I'm so pleased for you.
Hope the process goes smoothly and isn't too stressful x

Great news DIA 😼👏
Regarding the cost of solicitor etc , one good thing is that you won't be paying for both sale and purchase this time around as you have already sold . Sounds odd I know , plus there should be a little less stress as you are going for a purchase and not a sale and purchase together which is probabky worse imho .If the survey goes well , hopefully all will be well with searches etc it shouldn't take too long . 🤞
A stressful time obviously but hang on in there ..5 -
CRANKY40 said:Moving house is one of the most stressful experiences that you can have so no wonder you feel anxious. There's so many good points to come out of being anxious at appropriate times though. You're so much less likely to be overcharged, walked all over, taken advantage of etc because you're already on high alert and being vigilant about the whole procedure. Anxiety is time consuming and tiring but I'd take it over being oblivious to pitfalls and problems any day. I hope that everything goes more smoothly than you expect.

Here’s to the housewarming.RosaBernicia said:Oh fantastic DIA, so pleased for you.It is a huge deal moving, and I also felt weird once I had somewhere - I think it's because you have all those months of endless possibility, and then they suddenly focus down to one thing that needs work! Please don't worry, I'm sure you will continue discovering why you love the house and it will be wonderfulRB xxMovingForwards said:Congratulations DIA, give it a few days to settle in your mind you've got this one. You've a lot going on and not enough mental energy spare at the moment.maggiem said:Really pleased to hear about the house and that it's in an area you want to be. It's exciting but also a very stressful time for anyone and you've had such a lot going on at the same time. True, it is only buying not selling too so at least there is that! I don't have a surveyor yet, still looking...

I’m back to frog eating, feeling a bit more settled and ready for action.
A delivery arrived of some clothes I had ordered 3 items kept and 3 sent back. Only keeping things I adore. And I need the money back in my account not on my back for now thank you!
Yesterday I tackled finding a solicitor. (FROG) In the end after asking many friends I hit on the idea of looking for local solicitors. If I am happy with them it will be good to have a local solicitor and may prove a valuable contact in other ways too. I have a few I’ve researched and I am waiting a call back from another. They are still expensive but not to the extent of my existing firm. Today I have continued this search. This must be concluded by tomorrow!
I have been adding up figures constantly and now have all costs on a spreadsheet. It is making my brain tired.
I called a company to arrange to withdraw some funds (FROG) I took out some. The result is paying a few thousand pounds in tax. Then I thought a short-term loan from the CU could be the answer. They were brilliant and will be able to give me a decision in week. If successful this would save thousands of pounds and I can repay in the next tax year. I can cancel the other withdrawal within 14 days if the CU deliver. We shall see…
I called a government body twice without getting through despite holding for a long time. Will try again tomorrow.
A nice chat with my nephew. I like that I am the kind of aunty he likes to call just for a chat.
Frog for tomorrow is find a surveyor!
I need to live on fresh air until this move goes through so I am pleased to announce a non spend day.
The acupuncturist called and my first appointment is next week. Counselling tomorrow so lots of support to help with stress. I am thankful. My sister and I will be doing a sponsored walk in the autumn to see if we can raise a few hundred pounds for the hospice.
I will stop all this and take a break soon. Walking to the hospice to save money and get some exercise. I hope everyone is ok
Updated to say my solicitors are finalised and the details have been sent to the EA
