Another Christmas over. I had Christmas alone but I connected with friends and even had a 2 hour catchup with my best friend on the otherwise of the world. I had decluttered away my large pan so was forced to use a vintage roasting pan with lid (1950's enamel white with a blue rim) on the hob. I cooked a stuffed chicken and root veggies in it and it came out brilliantly. I made up a chestnut, pomegranate, quinoa and orange zest and thyme stuffing that was particularly successful. No pudding just dark chocolate and tea (also a present). A nice day considering...
Today I made a broccoli and potato soup in the new soup maker. A success! I already make soup but this will increase my soup consumption. It is a lot less messy and quicker to use than my previous method.
I hope everyone out there has had a Christmas with some moments of happiness, peace or bothIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Thank you DIA - gad it all went well.
We missed our relatives but our household is 6 adults and young adults so by this year's standards a veritable crowd!! We had a later main meal than usual as DS GF was working. Although the meal went well, and I really enjoyed a lazy morning - having the turkey at 7pm seemed to consume the whole afternoon and when we were done, it was almost bedtime!! I think I am a little jealous of your self reliant and delicious menu
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long

Glad you had a lovely day. The food sounds scrummy. Sounds like you are making the most of the peace - and still catching up with friends - even if it is virtually. We had a good day with wider family. A few tears were shed as none of us were sure whether the rug would be pulled away at the last minute. Restful day back home today.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
