Thanks @another_casualty and @savingholmes
Up early and cycled to L1d1 to see if I could buy the induction hob for when they take away my cooker. I now have it
Feeling calm and chilled so the decision to leave house hunting until the NY feels like the right one.
I have been concentrating on building an EF. I'd like to have £6,000 put away one day. A few weeks ago I had £270 and set a target of £500 by the end of the year. I have that now.
I am in the highest tier and don't have enough time to self isolate before Christmas so I will be having Christmas by myself. Strangely happy to do so. Picked up some fizz this morning and I have a YS half boned lamb leg, so food all sorted.
Today I will continue cleaning and organising and probably batch cooking.
Wishing you all a good day

You've obviously made the right decision regarding the flat."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee7

Yes feeling much more relaxed. I don't know why, when the country is obviously going from bad to worse every time I dare to catch up with the news!If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

I have finally closed the Hell-ifax fee paying account. The plan is now to use one account for all discretionary spending and to build a buffer into that account too.
Doing well on the EF. It is £550 but aiming for £1000 by the end March.
Cycled to BS to close account and then popped into SM. Queues not bad. Bought loo and kitchen roll. Supplies of everything seems ok although some were massively buying loo roll.
My bike has a puncture and I need bike lights so planning to get this done this afternoon.
I am finding it harder to declutter but managed to let go of some clothes I have never worn but are no longer 'me' It's hard because it is somehow letting go of a dream of yourself (yes deep I know) and also they were expensive but never worn. I hope they do well for the charity.
I'm glad I made the decision to stay home for Christmas and planned for it or I would be disappointed now.
Soup on the stove as HM soup always makes me feel in control (an illusion obviously)

Keep telling yourself it gets worse before better and it's making you stronger as a person with each passing week. Make your plans, set your goals and it will all work out in the end.

Well done on the decluttering. I can relate to the difficulty of letting things go. You sound like you are doing well though. I wish I'd just planned for xmas at home - I would be feeling less conflicted nowAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
