The beautician was right, to an extent, about the eyebrow tint Maddie. I did exactly the same as you and played safe the first time but have gone a shade or two darker since which helps make it last. They always try to book a repeat appointment but I never do. I just wait until tidying up with tweezers is getting a faff and then book. I must buy a new magnifying mirror though as the only downside of our new(ish) bathroom is that the mirror is no longer next to the window so the light isn't as good.
I haven't posted for a few days but I have been reading. About the only thing I like about this new site is that it takes me to the last post read so that helps.
I think it was LL that posted about how we walk giving a clue to age. I know when I joined the thread, and was feeling like a bag lady, I used to drag myself along. Now I have a real spring in my step. It's not just about being literally lighter on my feet but I'm sure my dancing, walking and the all important posture all help.
I'm still keeping up with all my fabbing routines. The latest addition is the body exfoliator that I've been using for a week or more after each shower and I'm pleased with that. I'll be wearing my new, strappy dress in three weeks time so I'll soon start using some fake tan and having the smoother skin will help.
We've booked a few days in Belfast next month as a bit of a birthday treat for me. I've been to the Republic before but never to Northern Ireland so I'm looking forward to it.

Hi all,Been a bit of a rubbish week tbh. Depression playing up which tends to zap all my motivation - disappointed in myself as the healthy eating etc was going really well and while I managed to pull it back the last day or 2 and not gain too much, then am feeling like it's been a rather wasted week. Am going to an exercise class tonight though so hopefully might give me a kick!Sorry for not commenting but am reading your posts and you're all doing amazingly x7

Hello Ladies,
Thanks Maddiemay, I had a really lovely weekend, as after visiting my older daughter and son-in-law with my younger son on Saturday, my grandson and his girlfriend came to visit me on Sunday. Good food, laughter and great company left me feeling all aglow.
Yesterday I went to another book event at Brixton Library. Tickets were free for a question and answer session with the author Kiley Reid about her novel Such A Fun Age. I really enjoyed this evening event and I bought the hardback book for only £10 rather than the selling price of £12.99 and I got Kiley Reid to put a personal message to me in the front of the book.
I had decided not to buy any new books in 2020, but I never dispose of books that have a personal message to me of my choosing, written by the author makes a great read something extra special. So I will buy a new book if I go to similar events throughout 2020 as I will treasure these books for the rest of my life.

Hi Ladies,
I hope you are all well. It feels quite mild and bright here today, maybe winter is coming to an end?...
I am feeling much better on the medication already. It's an antipsychotic, which sounds more scary than it is. It levels out my mood quite well. The only problem is that it has given me restless legs at night. I did stop taking Pregabalin (the medication I was taking for anxiety) as I didn't want to take them both together at first so I might try taking that again tonight as that is an anticonvulsant. (I obviously asked if they were safe to take together and they are).
Anyway, I have been rejigging my home a bit. I have bought a new red flower art print and I have put that up in my living room.
We moved all my husband's vinyl records upstairs as the cats keep using them as a scratching post!I thought we might need to buy more storage but I managed to move things around and use furniture we had so we saved some money there.
I have got my yoga mat out (that I barely use) and will try a very easy beginners 20 minute yoga exercise that I found on Youtube. It's called Yoga with Adrienne as I have heard a lot of people talk about her yoga videos. I hope it might help to stretch out the muscles in my legs as my thighs and hips are hurting from the restless legs.
Then I will have a bath with rose oil, shave my legs and put on body lotion.
I am going to go for a walk afterwards and listen to a podcast. I will walk up to Coop so I can buy a bunch of flowers for my living room.

good afternoon lovely ladies.....
Although I haven't posted much I have been reading and enjoying your posts. Keep going ladies, you are all doing so well and spring is just round the corner.
Extremely busy here. Can't remember if I told you, but my FIL died last week, so I have been pretty busy with telephone support to my SIL. I have booked my train to Edinburgh for next Wednesday and will be staying for a week. The actual funeral is on the Friday. I'm guessing it will likely be very cold (snow at the moment apparently) so I will need to dig out my warmest clothes.
Decorator has been coming and going, doing mainly prep work, but he has very kindly agreed to come and do the actual painting whilst I'm away. Much better arrangement. I will be out of his way so he can crack on and I won't have to suffer paint fumes. Win win. The oil based primer/stain block he used was a killer, I felt dreadful for several days. And of course, when it's the kitchen, there's no real escape from it.
Given the latest news on the corona virus I have decided to cancel my Iceland trip (I was due to pay the balance this week). The last thing I need to is to be in quarantine on a ship for weeks on end, especially in what could be stormy seas off the coast of Iceland. I can think of better things to do with my money this year, the money saved can go towards landscaping my garden, maybe even treat myself to a little summerhouse and some of those posh exterior window canopy thingies to provide shade over the seating area. (Can't think what they are called).
I really don't mind not going to Iceland this year, doubtless there will be other opportunities. And if not, well now that I'm retired I regard every day as a holiday. 😂. Actually I had been having second thoughts anyway. I feel all cruised out for now, so the virus just helped me make my mind up. I might have a mini break as and when things settle and travelling becomes less fraught with risk. Im expecting to have to visit Belgium at some point, my aunt is elderly and getting very frail......tbh we are all astonished that she's lasted this long. If I do go to Belgium then I could spend a couple of days in Bruges whilst I'm at it, it's not far from Ghent.
And I am determined to start seeing more of the British Isles, so I might start having the odd U.K. holiday. Maman - Belfast sounds great. I've been to Dublin but I've not been to Ireland proper. It's on my bucket list. 😂.

hopefully winter will turn a corner for us all soon. I have been looking after myself more, being more proactive in going to the gym and eating well. I have improved a lot since last year and dropped a dress size, lost weight but more importantly feel more fit. It feels like a better foundation to build upon.

Well done Saving for Tomorrow.
I am not doing so well weight wise - I have gained 5 and 1/2 pounds back since being on this medication.I will have to get the weight off when I come off it, hopefully it won't be too long, maybe a few months.
Brr. I went to a dental appointment yesterday and I waited for the bus instead of walking as it was so cold. That is very unlike me. I have a GP appointment today and then my psychologist tomorrow so I will have to wear lots of layers to keep warm. I might have to take my cat back to the vet as well as she has hurt her hip. She is on daily painkillers but she is still limping around.
I will have to wrap up and at least do some walking today. I have a Dr Chatterjee podcast to listen to and if I take the long way around to the doctor it will be an hour of brisk walking.
I will wear my short black dress with my new F&F blue jumper and a black cardigan over it and then my black winter coat. I think I will wear my trainers as it will easier to walk in than boots.
It is raining as well so I might take my pretty peacock umbrella with me. I hardly ever use that one.
I'm just sipping a cup of salted caramel green tea before I get ready. I hope everyone has a nice day and keeps warm.

I just saw this on Who What Wear.
The Best Buys From Topshop, & Other Stories, Arket and H&M | Who What Wear UK
I would wear that purple skirt suit or the shirt dress.
I read in one of the magazines I bought that double-denim is a fashion trend again, denim top and denim jeans, especially paler denim. That look reminds me of the band Status Quo, lol.2025 GOALS
