I know what you mean pixie - I have been meaning to sort out my kitchen cupboards since I was made redundant, but it seems when you have all the time in the world to do things you really can’t be bothered. I definitely got more done around the house when I was at work 😉.
That is great that you got compliments SFT - I know we do it to make ourselves feel better but it is nice when other people notice too.
Not much happening here today - weather is grey but dry - may go for a walk later and then settle down for a cosy evening in.
Have a lovely weekend all 😀.4 -
It's great to receive compliments sft, a real morale boost but it is worth doing even just for ourselves. 😊
Sugarbaby has really started something with the house fabbing. Thank you. 😊 I'm sure we're all searching for a sense of order in all the chaos. I've always found it cathartic to achieve something even if it is just tidying a cupboard or a drawer. I read the Marie Kondo book a couple of years ago and while I found it a bit 'airy fairy' in parts, there was lots of good practical advice too. I think the best tip was to find a home for everything and to order things in categories. I sorted my drawers of everyday tops and jumpers in rainbow order and they've stayed that way ever since and still give me pleasure. Sometimes you have to split the categories (evening tops are stored elsewhere) but it really does help.
I bought an expandable kitchen drawer organiser in Aldi a while back pixie. It's a bit like this one:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Adjustable-Organizer-Expandable-Silverware-Stainless/dp/B08HQSS9CR/ref=sr_1_42?dchild=1&keywords=expandable+cutlery+organiser+drawer&qid=1605962599&sr=8-42
What I like about it is that it fits right across the drawer with no spaces for bits to accumulate.
My other favourite is my spice rack. I have all my herbs and spices arranged alphabetically and it's so easy to find everything.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/CHROME-CABINET-CUPBOARD-ORGANISER-STORAGE/dp/B00G9ZLQIA/ref=sr_1_12?dchild=1&keywords=over+door+spice+rack&qid=1605962861&sr=8-12
It's dry here but dull here so no plans to go out. I'll potter about in the kitchen and do some batch cooking. 😊

Hello Ladies,
Pixie, well done on doing crochet chevrons and a teddy bear, which have turned out really well. I learnt to crochet over 40 years ago, but I never have any reason to use that skill now, although I did when my children were young.
Wednesday I suggest that you just pamper your nails with nail and cuticle cream and nail oil until they are healthier. It may also be better to leave them unvarnished until they are somewhat healthier. I hope you enjoy your online concert in early December. It is great to have a concert to look forward to once again, even though in these troubled times it has to be an online event.
Wednesday and Maman, I always ear dinner by 7pm and then usually that will be the last time I eat. As I normally do not go to bed until midnight, I sometimes need a snack of some fruit late in the evening, but mostly I do not get hungry after my dinner. So I too naturally fast for at least 12 hours most days.
Maman both the expandable drawer organiser and the spice rack look really good and are inexpensive.I have my larger kitchen utensils in one drawer and my cutlery in another drawer as there is simply too many items to fit in one drawer. I also have far too many jars of seasonings to fit in one of those racks. I get through a lot of seasonings when I am cooking, as I like strong flavours with lots of depth in my home cooking.
I have always been naturally very organised and it is not just my kitchen that benefits. Everything is tidy and has it's place in my home, so it means that when I or my adult children want to locate an item, we always know where to find it, which saves so much time and reduces stress to the minimum.3 -
I went for a walk today for an hour and a half. I wore my favourite navy blue dotty dress and my tights and skechers. Only a light cardigan on top as it is still mild here for the time of year. I wear that outfit all the time as it is so comfortable.
I'm still feeling achy from using my trampoline two days ago. I will use it again tomorrow. I am finding it quite easy to stick to eating within a 12 hour window. I will weigh myself only once a week to see if I lose or gain any weight eating this way. My stomach feels completely back to normal now which is good.
I texted my friend who has lost 2 stone eating this way during the summer (although they have some health problems with what they think is gallstones) so they are eating in a far more narrower eating window than I am.
I was watching a YT video and they were talking about self-care and how important it is, especially this year. I think that is what we are all doing on here. It is apparently self-care week this week as well they were saying.
I did order a few things from Amazon today, loo roll, herbal tea, baked beans, batteries and some picture frames so I can frame the rest of the movie themed prints I bought from Etsy.

Hello Ladies, I do not know who the author is but I thought this was worth sharing with you all as I so agree with the sentiments.
Barely the day started and... it's already six in the evening.Barely arrived on Monday and it's already Friday.... and the month is already over.... and the year is almost over.... and already 40, 50 or 60 years of our lives have passed.... and we realize that we lost our parents, friends.and we realize it's too late to go back...So... Let's try, despite everything, to enjoy the remaining time...Let's keep looking for activities that we like...Let's put some color in our grey...Let's smile at the little things in life that put balm in our hearts. And despite everything, we must continue to enjoy with serenity this time we have left. Let's try to eliminate the afters...I'm doing it after...I'll say after...I'll think about it after...We leave everything for later like ′′ after ′′ is ours.Because what we don't understand is that:Afterwards, the coffee gets cold...afterwards, priorities change...Afterwards, the charm is broken...afterwards, health passes...Afterwards, the kids grow up...Afterwards parents get old...Afterwards, promises are forgotten...afterwards, the day becomes the night...afterwards life ends...And then it's often too late....So... Let's leave nothing for later...Because still waiting see you later, we can lose the best moments, the best experiences, best friends, the best family...The day is today... The moment is now...We are no longer at the age where we can afford to postpone what needs to be done right away.So let's see if you have time to read this message and then share it.Or maybe you'll leave it for "later"...11 -
Thanks for sharing that sugarbaby, very profound. I particularly liked the line where the year is almost over. I think we'll all be glad to see the back of 2020!
That was a good, long walk Wedneday. You're so right about self care. I think, even if we don't have instant results, it's good to pamper ourselves just to have the me time and feel cosseted. 😉6 -
Sugar thanks for posting the poem. We spend our lives waiting till we have enough money, until we are this or that. No time is perfect so imperfection must be grabbed and every opportunity seized.
Thank you for the lovely words about me putting on an effort and people responding. I think is because I work with customers who are glad someone is putting in an effort. I think it makes them and me feel life is still normal.
I tried to post last night and accidentally lost all my typing. Writing on the phone is a bit hit and miss. I'm planning on doing a bit of a declutter. I spent time gathering important possessions and now trying to clear stuff out. It's so much easier to bring stuff into homes than it is to get rid isn't it what with the cost of rubbish dump and sheer indecision.

Hello Ladies,
I woke up just after 8am and decided to start the deep clean of my Living room. I store all of the glass ware and crystal glasses, vases and a jug in the sideboard, so I started on the sideboard. All of the glass ware and crystal ware are now absolutely sparkling. I also cleaned the vent high up on the wall and 3 of the framed photos on the wall. Two hours later and I stopped cleaning as I was starting to tire.
I plan to do some of the Living room each day this week until it is complete, then eventually start the deep clean in my bedroom.
I am going to have a lazy day for the rest of today. I will watch lots of television programmes and a film or two that I will enjoy, do some reading and just relax.
I hope you all have a good Sunday

Great poem sugarbaby.
My organiser thingy hasn't arrived. Was supposed to be delivered this morning but it isn't here so I hope it arrives.
I'm determined to sort out something every day, one thing at a time at soon all cupboard and drawers will be sorted. Sorting DHs stuff has come to a standstill, I can't motivate him and it is disheartening but all I can do is carry on with what I can.5 -
Purplepixie- Give him time, his motivation has waned it will return, and decluttering will resume. It comes in waves motivation and takes time.
