Pixie - I asked the chiropodist last time if they had been closed during the last lockdown and they were for a while but were opened up again for what was classed emergency work. My feet just need a tidy up so I wasn't sure if that would be considered important enough. I can always call them anyway to check.
My nails are rubbish and don't grow very long since we adopted our rescue dogs as I have to wash my hands so much. My fingernails used to be lovely and long, people used to comment on them being nice. Not any more, haha.
You can get those hand gloves that you wear overnight with hand cream on or maybe using an oil would strengthen your nails.4 -
purplepixie - sorry to hear you had to end your beach visit prematurely. With regard to your nails, I think it depends on whether the ridges are horizontal or vertical. I have quite pronounced vertical ridges on my nails and I have been told that it just due to the nail ageing (along with the rest of me 😱). I think horizontal ridges can be caused by various factors, stress, lack of certain vitamins etc. but it may be worth asking you’re GP if you are concerned about it? I use a nail and cuticle oil on a regular basis and although it doesn’t cure the ridges, it does makes my nails and hands feel better.5

Such a shame your picnic didn't happen pixie.Good that you're keeping occupied with the crochet though. That's one craft I've never got into. I can sew, knit and embroider. Maybe I should look at a DIY video. 🤔
I can confirm about the chiropody. The new one I've been using is just across the road and it's definitely open. What I don't do is make advance appointments though as I can never gauge how far in advance my nails need doing.
Is it 5:2 you're doing or eating in a fixed window Wednesday? I have friends who have had great success with 5:2 and they found that choosing a busy day for the fast days worked best. That's not so easy at the moment though
We've had a good walk today, 8000+ steps. So far all our walks have been local but I would like to go further afield sometime. I also sorted out my store cupboard and kitchen food cupboards. It was more of a stocktake really than cleaning, just to be sure what I had. I've resisted any panic buying but I am wondering whether fresh food supplies will be affected by Brexit so I'm going to make sure I have plenty of tins and dried goods.
I saw a deep conditioner/hair mask in the blonde range yesterday but I'm doing my best to use up products and I still have some John Freida so I'll use that first. 😇
I'm not an expert on nails but mine were in poor condition after prolonged shellac. I left them quite plain, cut them short and gave them lots of attention with cuticle oil (any oil will do) and hand cream and buffing. I think healthy eating is part of it too. HTH. 😊

Maman - we are doing time restricted eating when you just eat in a certain window. I think the reason I sometimes overeat is because my husband works shifts so I sleep different hours each week and mindlessly eat too many meals and snacks when I'm awake. Hopefully this will make me stick to a specific eating plan no matter what shift he is working.
Oh yes, I meant to say we got tickets to an online concert in early December. Blossoms. They are performing at Brixton in London. I am really looking forward to it! Something to look forward to for the first time in ages.2025 GOALS

Thanks Wednesday . I think we're quite fortunate that we eat in a window from habit. DH and I used to work very long hours so our current habit of having dinner at 7. 15 pm is early for us. That means I don't want anything else and I don't have to get up early any more so I 'fast' between 8 and 8. When my brother comes to stay, he wants his 'tea' at 5.30pm and then supper later. It drives me mad! 🤣6

It has chilled down a lot here so I will skip the hair treatment as I don't fancy getting the dogs in and out of the garden with wet hair. I will do it tomorrow morning instead.2025 GOALS

Good luck with the chiropodist Wednesday, my husband's chiropodist did close last time but is open this time so you might be lucky.
Maman there are some great youtube videos on how to crochet, although I learned to crochet over 50 years ago I'd never done a zigzag, or chevron as it is really called, and am pleased I've done it. During lockdown I also crocheted my first teddy bear, I'd never done a soft toy before but I decided to make one for one of my GC and it was a success. The bonus is that it is wonderful physio for my slightly arthritic right hand and wrist, I've done so much that I have hardly any pain now. The downside is I've probably spent too much money on wool but I'm spending so little on other things that I'm OK with that.

I really tried with the hair and makeup this morning. I got compliments on the skin and clothing today. It really makes a difference to put in the effort daily.6

SFT it really is worth making the effort every day. How lovely for you to receive compliments on your skin and your clothing. Keep up the fabbing. You are so worth it!6

It is hard to be motivated when you aren't going out or seeing anyone. I've vowed to have a long soak in the bath tonight, have a face pack and foot pack and do my hair. I've started a kitchen deep clean, yesterday I defrosted the freezer and sorted contents out and cleared out and reorganised a cupboard. I intend to do a cupboard a day, I want to do each one well and not rush through them. I'm ordering a new organiser thing from Amazon to sort out my cutlery and gadgets. I've lost motivation in the last few weeks but today is a new start.6
