Hello lovely ladies.Well I've never looked less fab......I've just spent the last hour cleaning out the shed.😱. I'm filthy. 😂. But tonight I intend to light the chimenea to burn some scrap wood that's not fit to burn indoors so no point bathing till after. I love sitting out with the chiminea and a glass of something of an early autumn evening. The wind has finally dropped here so a good time.I was pleasantly surprised to see Just how much good clean scrap wood is in the shed so once it's cut up I will have plenty for the fire. I also have wood and some smokeless coal in the coal shed left over from last winter. So hopefully I won't need to buy anymore, I should have plenty. Just need to buy some bioethanol for the spare heater that I keep for emergencies. And of course I've got loads of candles so I shall be all set to Hygge. It's been a lovely day here today and it's set to get even warmer over the next few days, wahoo. I love the early autumn, my favourite time of year, especially when we get an "Indian Summer".7

Good Morning lovely ladies......
well I have just reviewed last months budget. An absolute disaster, my grocery bill was horrendous, as well as having to buy a new fridge freezer, tv licence and house insurance, This month it will be even worse - car tax and insurance, outside painting, some new fence panels, a new gate and a new cooker. 😱. That's going to come to a pretty penny. So that's it folks.....time to tighten the belt. No charity shop browsing, essentials only. Going to stay out the shops.Need to do a food shop today and have just ordered some Vitamins but hopefully I can stick to just food and get my hair cut this month and a couple of tins of paint. No clothes, no books, no plants. 😂🤣. I'm ok for toiletries, cosmetics and cleaning materials. Here goes for an extra frugal couple of months. 🤞.8 -
Hi fabbers,
I have had a busy few days, we have had DDs birthday, plus the children are going back to school soon, so I have been busy buying and washing uniforms. The house is a tip, so I have lots to do.6 -
Hi everyoneAll is well here (apart from my usual aches and pains😒). But I’m going to be positive as I know there are a lot of people a lot worse off. Our new router arrived yesterday after OH spent hours on the ‘phone and finally getting to speak to an actual human! So, good news, our internet isn’t erratic any more and a lot faster. Not much fabbing going on though. I spent most of yesterday in cleaning mode so that’s probably why I ache more than usual today. I need a trip out to return our old router to Virgin and will probably call at the supermarket for a top up shop. That’s about as exiting as it gets!6

Hello again lovely ladies......
Just back from my mini health MOT this Morning. No nasty shocks. 😉I had my sleep patterns destroyed as a result of caring for my husband and through all the stress of bereavement. I still get the odd restless night but I dont fret over it. Rather than toss and turn and get frustrated I just make a cup of tea and read until I feel sleepy.A couple of changes to my routines helped me get back on track......no iPad or electronic devices after 7pm. In fact I do now try to limit iPad use during the day too. Apart from the fact that it can be a huge time waster, I think it can overstimulate the brain and make it hard to switch off and have restful sleep. In fact I read somewhere that it's best not to have mobiles, iPads etc in the bedroom - something to do with magnetic fields??I also found that when I was advised to take magnesium it helped me sleep, maybe a deficiency can lead to sleep problems. And as daft as it sounds - I Think getting overtired can have a detrimental effect. I find having a short daytime nap helps me sleep better. I know it sounds counter productive and some sleep clinics advise against naps but it definitely works for me because if I get overtired I have difficulty sleeping - a bit like overtired baby syndrome. 😂. It's like I'm overwound and I can't switch off. There's nothing worse than being shattered and unable to sleep. Hope you all get sorted soon.7 -
Well not a lot of fabbing been happening here for the last few days, but an awful lot of feeding ! Had one of our GS staying with us and even though he's coming up for 10 he eats more than I do. Great exercise as it was like having my own personal trainer as I was on the go all the time, out for walks, bike rides (not me) and generally on the go non stop.
Interesting discussion about sleep and I agree that getting overtired is dreadful. I always sleep very well on the days that I have been to a yoga class, went today and it was pretty challenging so I am sure I will sleep well tonight.
Beautiful weather for the past few days, although raining now, my friend had put her winter duvet on but I'm still fine with the summer one, nothing worse than being too hot .
Seems a bit quiet on here hope everyone is ok

LL -- It is harder to find the money coming into the winter. All of the extra heating bills and electricity usage. It is important to still enjoy your self.
Next month I have to pay for the tv licence, solid fuel for the stove, car insurance and most likely car repairs. My car is starting to cost money but less compared to purchasing a new one. I am banking on the long term of some subsidy coming to help with cars next year- I am going to wait to replace the car.
I don't sleep well- My fitbit tells me that I often get 5 hours with additional restless periods but I don't feel in the day time. I cut out caffeine and it does make a difference. It is hard to give it up and the sugar.
Using do not disturb settings on the phone help where the phone goes into black and white. Exercise helps with the regulation of the sleep cycle. There is so much you can do but it is very individual and hope you find what works for you
