purple pixie I loved your post😁 and agree that we should have been given three sets of teeth!Sugar Wow! You certainly were one sporty youngster. I wish I could say the same about me😒 What is bashment? It sounds really cool. I love soul music too by the way.6

Hello Free,
Bashment is a particular type of reggae.
None of us had any choice but to be sporty at my particular South London secondary school. It did mean that we were all as skinny as rakes and very healthy despite having delicious, stodgy school dinners not to mention gorgeous calorie laden home cooked meals.6 -
Brrrrrrr!!!Where has this come from.....Feels like autumn is here today. 😅6
-
It seems like I started my winter prep just in time as it feels like autumn here too. I'm glad of the warm duvet on the bed last night.
We are taking another load of stuff to the tip tomorrow. I think next year might be too much of a rush to move house but it's always good to get rid of stuff we don't need or want. We have gone backwards on our savings too as we had two expensive vet bills and we seemed to spend a lot more in lockdown as we kept having to buy cat litter, loo roll and just various trips to local shops when we couldn't get supermarket deliveries.
I am about to have a bath and then go for a walk. It's raining here again!5 -
go you sugar baby! I have great images of you skateboarding down your local high street, headphones on listening to your reggae music🤣🤣🤣. you put us all to shame😎6

Looking back, I think that part of the attraction of skateboarding was that it was a male dominated sport, so I was around a lot of teenage boys. Even though I was a real skinny teenager with spots and I believed I was not particularly fanciable, I was deemed attractive by more than one of the teenage boys on the skateboarding circuit, even though I never really mastered skateboarding.5 -

On a miserable note we had a flood yesterday. Torrential rain for about an hour and unknown to us the drain at the front of the house blocked and water was pouring into the garage, we had no idea until water started seeping under the door that connects the kitchen to the garage. Now I've told you my husband is a hoarder so you can probably imagine what had to be sorted out of a flooded double garage. Then there was the matter of the drain, well if any of you saw a woman in her 60s lying on her drive with her arm down a drain well that was me. I was soaked to the skin and filthy muck up my arm but I did shift the blockage.
Then the sun came out and we had a beautiful afternoon, of course I'm probably brewing bubonic plague or something similar which will make covid look like nothing. I wonder if I'll start a pandemic and then Trump can talk about the English virus, concocted in a drain in Devon.8 -
Oh pixie.....how awful. I don't envy you. We once had our integral garage flood, It was horrible. Dirty filthy drain water. I had carpeted It out because we used it as a gym. The carpet had to be thrown away, luckily the gym equipment was ok and everything else was stored in lidded plastic crates on industrial steel shelving above the water level. Even so it was a mammoth clean up operation, I remember using copious amounts of disinfectant.Just back from Aldi's - again!! Three times this week.😱😂. DIL and DS have invited themselves round again tomorrow, as well as yesterday, and I forgot it was bank holiday on Monday so thought I'd better stock up a bit. My grandson who is now 2 was in "eating mode" yesterday. 😅. I had forgotten how much toddlers can eat when they are having a growth spurt.SIL and niece have also invited themselves down in a couple of weeks so I made a start on buying a few extra bits for when they come, save me rushing round like a lunatic when the time comes. I might do some cooking and freezing next week in readiness. My niece has quite severe digestive issues so catering for her requires lots of menu planning and forethought. The more I can do in advance the easier it will be.Miserable morning here and the garden has taken a battering. Luckily my son helped me stake up a couple of the saplings yesterday which were leaning a bit but I should have done the hollyhocks as well. I'll have to nip out and rescue them when it dries up a bit.3 sets of teeth....yep I'll vote for that. 😂. There is a lot of research going on with stem cells. Apparently one day we will be able to grow replacement teeth.😁.7

Yay to replacement teeth, at the moment wearing masks would make the "gappy" stage more bearable (I say looking at 6 year old GS who has no front teeth!)
We've had a dehumidifier running all night so it all seems a bit more bearable today. No signs of bubonic plague just yet.5 -
purple LOL about the plague. OH has had to do his arm down the drain thing before and I told he’s never ever to come near me again with that arm!!!
helen enjoy your family time. I can’t believe DGS is 2, where has the time gone?
wednesday I know what you mean about having to buy more expensive stuff from local shops. I spotted some surface cleanser in my local shop for £2.99, the shop bought it in Lidl for £1.50 🤣
don’t know if I posted this already, here is my cleaning stash, which I have been building up over a few month. I don’t want a huge stash, but just enough to see us through a few weeks if needed. The washing up liquid was bulk bought from Costco in a 6 pack on offer (otherwise, I wouldn’t have bought that much).I got a new ear piercing today, my forward helix. I have been thinking about it for a few weeks now and I was passing by the shop today, so I thought I would get it done.6
