Savingfortomorrow I pity them really, sad and stupid can't be happy.
I must get some Persil, I'm nearly at the end of my large box. Daren't run out of that, DH is allergic to most brands and Persil non bio is my go to.

what a miserable, rotten day. had two layers on, wrapped in a wool jumper and still put on a heater for a few mins this afternoon. can’t believe we were sunbathing in the mid thirties just a couple of weeks ago. I feel like hibernating and waking up in April next year! I agree with you that I also think we are in for a hard winter...hunkering down. Need to think through what supplies I need. always like to stock light bulbs, candles, matches, water, toilet rolls and tinned food. that way we can eat even if black outs. one of the worse things of losing electricity these days would be losing these forums!5

It is a gorgeous day here today after feeling like autumn for a few days. It is very bright and sunny. I went out for a long walk and did almost 12,000 steps this morning.
I am following the CBT advice of the diet book I bought. It doesn't give advice about food, just more the psychology and I am down a couple of pounds already. Really surprised and happy with that as I haven't felt hungry either. CBT really has worked for me since January so I thought the techniques could work with my overeating too. I only have two more Zoom sessions with my psychologist but I think it is enough now and feel ready to say goodbye to her.
It felt so good to get rid of the stuff to the tip yesterday! My house feels so much more spacious and less cluttered.

pixie Just seen your post. Just try and ignore such ignorant comments. There are some vile and ignorant people on this planet. They are not worth bothering about. I pity them too and wouldn’t give them the satisfaction of any response. Glad your food cupboard is stocked up again. I always feel so much happier when my cupboard is full. I’m a bit greedy too😁
savingfortomorrow As above - it’s horrible to experience those types of comments because of where we originate from. I agree totally about quality v quantity. I used to buy lots of clothes. Some were good quality but I have to admit that I’ve also bought a lot of tat in my time. You know, like going to the supermarket to get groceries and browsing in the clothes section and popping a top into my trolley. A top that I liked at the time but probably only wore once or twice - madness! Our grandparents had the right idea of make do and mend. I still have a lot more clothes than I need but I’m going to set myself a challenge and wear them all. (Well, when I lose half a stone as some of them are a bit tight).😳Wednesday Interesting post about CBT. I have never tried it. Does it help with such things as anxiety etc? I have several “fears”. One (amongst many) is not being able to be a passenger when someone else is driving and another (silly one) is that I can’t use an escalator. I freeze every time I try to go down and get a panic attack and have to take the stairs or the lift in shops. I would be interested to see how it could help with weight loss. Please keep us posted.Hope everyone is having a good weekend. It’s bright and sunny here but not particularly warm.6 -
On the subject of “fabbing” - can anyone recommend a nice nude nail varnish? Something very pale and looks like a natural nail?
maman A few posts ago when I said I was creaming my feet you asked if I’d ever tried foot socks. Do you mean the ones with cream inside? I was looking at Scholl intensive treatment masks on Amazon. The reviews are good but at £28 I don’t think I can justify the cost (you do get 6 pairs though). Any recommendations?

Hello lovely ladies.Pixie. Sorry to hear about your unpleasant experience with racist yobs. . I agree - try to ignore the perpetrators. They are beneath contempt and Just not worthy of your attention.FTD Not tried special cream infused socks. I just slather my feet in any old cream, the thicker and gloopier the better and then put On some old socks. I find petroleum jelly works best of all. Even better if you can do it overnight.I’ve spent most of the morning putting the house back to rights after a visit from the human tornado yesterday. (Grandson😂) Shattered now. Did a bit of gardening earlier but it’s gone cold again so I’ll call it a day. Just do my Zumba in a bit and cook a nice easy dinner. I know it’s not Exactly WW friendly but I fancy oven baked chip shop style fish and chips. Just bung it in the oven whilst I do my exercises. Job done 😂 Then a cosy evening with a film.Watched “Death Comes to Pemberley”. A murder mystery As a sequel to Pride and Prejudice so of course Pemberley is actually Chatsworth. It was shot on location, both inside the house and in the gardens and grounds. It was fun playing “spot the room”.SFT. I am definitely going to start buying better quality clothes now. Whilst I was overweight I went for cheap and cheerful but really they were more like cheap and nasty. Like you say - Half the time just popping stuff in my trolley whilst at the supermarket. But now that I’m happier with my weight I’m going to start going for quality over quantity.
When I do my autumn winter Wardrobe switch over from summer wear I’m going to have another purge. And I intend to be ruthless. 😂. I am going to keep only the best. Then I am aiming to treat myself to some nice “1 mile clothes” for wearing at
home. Preferably - nice And warm And cosy. Just because I live alone and no one sees me doesn’t mean I have to slop around in tatty worn out paint spattered
clothes. And I fancy a “new look”. Time to do a Madonna and reinvent myself. 😂🤣 And it would be nice to bring some fun back into clothes shopping. Make it more of an occasion rather than just loading up clothing along with the baked beans and washing up liquid. 😂The other thing I’m finding is that it seems to be getting harder to find nice quality clothes in the charity shops. Maybe I’m not looking in the right places but there seems to be an awful lot of tat around. But then so much clothing nowadays tend to use cheap Inferior fabrics which don’t wash well and which seem to look tired and shabby very quickly. The clothes I’m seeing in our chazzers here look pretty exhausted. The odd exception but on the whole not much takes my fancy these days.4 -
I hit the gym this morning- 6 days this week. I mainly swim but I do a gym session at least once a week.
Freetodo- I used the stocks with the acid in them. They caused my skin to peel like a snake and were sore the first few days.
I dislike escalators. I can go up easily but balk going down. I nosedived before and had a good bit of bruising, and several stairs- I prefer avoiding them. The difficulty of getting your food on the moving metal- it’s like trying to sync with a moving train. My dislike is due to the knowledge that I’ve hurt myself before. It’s part of the reason I really dislike the underground in London but can use stair based systems in other countries.
Wednesday- I am intrigued to know if the cbt techniques would work for the eating. It is a strange thing eating- if you bare with me. I know the scientific rationale of the metabolism- can even draw out the pathways and name enzymes, but putting that knowledge into reality is hard. I still think of food as a treat sometimes, not a fuel. If only food was boring it would be easier.
LL- I went to Tesco to look at the clothes. Nothing grabbed my attention except a bright red swimsuit and had to get the matching hat. I have more swim gear than is normal but I enjoy the fashion show and joy of wearing something fun. It can be dull to get up early and all the bright colours and hats motivate me.
I buy quality on eBay mostly- i stick to a few designers that served me well. I lost a lot of weight slowly and sensibly. Looking at the wardrobe I have good brands that were classic and well-cut that i kept despite them not closing on me for ages. The fast-fashion items are a pain. I’m at the point I prefer to risk buying off ebay and not fitting compared to tossing items from Primark.
LL- I think a lot of people are holding onto the good stuff, also a lot of charity shops have less volunteers at the minute and can’t get through the stockpile. Generally, the better the area the better the stuff however, some chain charity shops move stock around. I generally think you get a good spell and a bad spell- it will improve just keep popping your head in and looking.

Thanks for all your suggestions about foot cream. I will do a bit more research and find out what might work for me. My feet aren’t too bad i.e. not much hard skin and I don’t want to use an abrasive cream that will tear the skin off my feet. Maybe LL your suggestion of just lathering my feet and soaking in socks overnight might work.SWT Thank you for your comments about escalators. How awful that you nose dived one!!! You must have been terrified! Now, I’m really going to stay away from them as that’s what’s scares me most!
Wednesday Thank you for your helpful post about CBT and your suggestion about EMDR, I will certainly check this out. As Wednesday has said, please keep us all informed if CBT helps with weight loss.
Let’s keep “fabbing” everyone. x6 -
My sister got me onto foot socks from poundland, I have found them great. you wear them to bed for one night, then about a week later ur skin peels. you don’t do anything. lots of lovely new soft skin. great for hard heels. and at a pound, you can’t go wrong.
woukd love to know the name of yr cbt diet book wednesday, after my huge success with sleep on the cbt sleep programme, I would be very interested to read this.5
