thriftylynny how horrible for you. I think sometimes one person sets the tone, maybe they are having a bad day or just a nasty person, and others jump on the bandwagon. I think you could ask for it to be deleted if it helped. Hope you are OK.5

I was so ill with fibromyalgia, I had to take pain killers almost every morning as I had such pains, especially in the back of my neck. It seems common to get pain there from what I read online. I was also 16 stone and getting regular migraines and not being able to sleep although I was exhausted. I was in a total state. It seems weird that was only three years ago and how good I feel now. Now I'm 5 stone lighter too!
One natural remedy for pain relief is ginger cut up and brewed in hot water as a tea. That did actually work quite well and has the added bonus of being very cheap.
I'm quite enjoying this healthy eating. I'm sure that CBT book is responsible as usually I feel deprived when I'm trying to lose weight or eat more healthily. I'm just sipping on a cup of orange white tea and having a banana as a snack.
I sent a text to my hairdresser to hopefully get our hair cut next month. One thing I have started doing again is using a scrub on my face. My skin is looking much better already. I always used to use a facial scrub but ran out and didn't replace it. I really notice the difference. I painted my nails red to match my top for my Zoom meeting today. I love red. It makes me feel confident.
I think Maman should just get a new email and rejoin us under a different name!4 -
sheilavw said:hope Maman is back soon. I have pledged to walk/swim etc 100k throughout September to raise money for MND charity, the cruel disease that I lost my Husband too last July. His MND team usually do a walk but due to covid this is their challenge for this year so I have signed up. Yesterday I had 18.513 steps in just running round the large school that I work in. Tonight I hope to go and do my 40 lengths at the gym. I've done about 37km in 3 days so expect to reach my target in a few days.2025 GOALS

I was just sitting down to watch TV and I thought I would post some tips from the CBT book if anyone is interested and didn't want to buy the book. This is a money saving site after all.
1. Sit down for every meal you eat. Ideally at a dining table. That really makes a difference for me as I would often mindlessly graze in front of the TV and not really notice how much I'm eating.
2. Try not to have any distractions while you eat.
3. Stop eating when you feel mildly full, don't eat until you are uncomfortably full.
4. Make a list of reasons why you want to lose weight and write them on a small index card. I put things like wanting to look more like I did when I was younger, to feel more confident etc... Read this list a couple of times a day. I read mine before each meal. You could put the list on your phone if you didn't want to carry a card around with you.
5. Eat slowly and try to notice every bite.
6. Look at your food laid out on the dining table as your brain needs to visually take in what food you are eating. I have been having three plates/bowls in front of me to make it look like more food. I've been having a bowl of salad, of soup or a smoothie, another dinner plate with my meal and then another bowl of fruit for afters.

Oh yes, you have to actually follow a diet plan obviously! Forgot that bit.
I'm doing WW again but I am finding it very easy to stick to with these CBT techniques added.
I'm writing down what I eat as well in a notebook as well as logging my weight each day. I keep my index card in the book too so it's a reminder of why I'm doing this. I would like to get another half stone off. I'm hoping to do it before my night away at the of October.

Wednesday - the cbt tips sound very logical and as LL says perseverance pays off. Everyday making a better decision, continually doing the better option.
Shelia - your goal and progress are inspirational. Every step is a step closer to your goal.
I hope it all gets sorted out for maman.
I have tried typing a few posts lately and fell asleep, was interrupted by a deliver, and accidentally shut the wrong page. I am keeping up the activity and it is making the day so much easier. I remember feeling so tired climbing the stairs once. I lost weight and improved pain from the knees and feel more like myself.

Good morning lovely ladies.SFT. Good to see you are keeping up the activity and starting to see some Improvement in how you feel. This is the key isn't it - small incremental changes, Step by step to a healthier, more active, more rewarding, more fulfilling and happier life. The whole ethos of Frump to Fab Is gently does it, no punishing regimes, no injuries, no daft starvation diets. Just healthy eating, moderate exercise, an optimistic outlook and a positive mindset.I love to hear all your success stories, so keep them coming. Whenever I feel overwhelmed I like to motivate myself by thinking about the success of others and am always interested in your journeys.Wednesday you have done magnificently, losing weight, getting fit and conquering your pain. I loved your last post.I firmly believe that it's never too late to make a fresh start, even to reinvent ourselves, to become the people we aspire to be. Sure, life deals us curved balls and it's not all lollipops and roses. I believe we have to play the hand we are dealt To the very best of our abilities. When life brings us lemons, get out the gin. 😂.It's is never to late, whether its health and fitness, debt busting, saving, travelling and having adventures, even falling in love second, third or even fourth time around. 🤣.My dear Aunty S got her first passport in her. 70s and started travelling, she took her first flight to Australia when she was 75. I met a lady who married her 4th husband when she was in her 80s (she had outlived all the others!!!😂). One of my late mothers friends is 93, still wears full slap every day and loves getting dolled up for a day at the races, despite having quite severe arthritis. She swears by whisky. 😂🤣.I am just reading a book called Late Bloomers. It's all about how some people don't hit their stride until later life and how a poor start needn't be a barrier to a happy and successful life. And it's not just about money, fame or career success it's about how we are never too old to reach our potential and create happy and fulfilling lives. One of my favourite inspirational women is a late bloomer called. Ernestine Shepherd. . Quite a gal. 😂
I won't tell you about her, I let your look her up. You will get quite a surprise......
have a great weekend y'all. Keeeeep fabbing.I've got family coming today, so going to cook a feast. But first it's time to Zumba. Get that blood coursing through my veins. 😂8 -
morning all, early up and at gym just after 8am for my 40 lengths, then hair dressers for cut and blow. I treated myself to a pricey hair product that they use.Not had great days recently, feel swamped with grief, I am very tearful. I find it hard on my own, I'm frightened that this is going to be as good as it will ever get.Trying to keep occupied, got my Daugthers dogs to check in on, feed, and walk. I am going to take my Brother out for a drive, bit of tv later.Enjoy your saturday everyone6

just a quickie, Sheila to send you some virtual hugs.Widowhood sucks, that's for sure and some days can seem very bleak. I still find myself asking "is this it, is this all there is". The good news is does get easier, or at least we get used to it and we develop strategies.Hang in there sweetheart. Cry all you need. Sometimes you just have to let it out.Lots of love. Xx8
