Amazing savings sugarbaby, I'd never have thought of buying a cheap drink to get the voucher. Impressed. 😊
The LL sunflowers are still doing OK but I cut them down and put them in the dining room today. They still have a few days left in them.

Not sure why that worked as a link rather than a photo. DH bought me lisianthus yesterday. 😍

Lovely flowers Maman. And I do love the lion, he's got a great face. I cut down my sun flowers today too because the stems were getting floppy, three in one vase and then two which ended up with very small stems in a small jug. It's something I always do with flowers to try and make them last longer.I have actually got 5 different lots of flowers dotted around. I accidentally knocked one of my pot chrysanthemums over so rather than throw away the broken bit I put it in a tiny glass. Waste not want not. 😉 I also bought a potted orchid today, It sits on the windowcill in the bathroom. I love orchids and these days they are very reasaonably priced, and they last for a good couple of months. Thanks for the advice about curry goat SUgarbaby. I knew you could make it with lamb. I guess lamb and goat are pretty similar in taste and texture. As I say I have only ever eaten it in restaurants but I would like to try and make it myself, Something different. Yes I was impressed with your idea of buying a cheap drink to get a voucher too., very clever. It wouldn't have occurred to me either. You are very good at sniffing out deals and bargains. I wish we could make you Chancellor. I bet you would soon sort Britain's finances in no time. And well done you with making such good progress with your Christmas shopping. I haven't really given it a thought yet but I would like to get it done nice and early this year. I was thinking of buying DS1 and DIL and the babies an annual ticket for the zoo until I saw the price. A bit out of my league I'm afraid.Have made a start on the front garden, attacking the baked clay with a small hand tool To break up the surface and then applying that clay breaker stuff. It's very hard work and rough on my wrists and right shoulder so I will just do a small section a day, no more than around 30 minutes. It will take a month of Sundays at that rate but I'll persevere until it's done. Persistence Pays Off. 😂🤣.6 -
I love the look of flowers but in recent years hayfever is just horrible.
LL I love the idea of the seasonal changing of the cushions. It can really change a room and make it your own fast. A lot of furniture is generic and the simple additions make it pop.
Maman congratulations on the anniversary.
Sugar- you are right a small lunch is perfect to quench the craving. Sometimes the portions in main meal takeaways are too much like the 3 bears- too big, too small, and occasionally just right. I never knowingly cooked mutton (I most likely got old sheep at some point mislabeled) and cooked lamb a few times. It is so hard to get despite loads of farmers raising them- most are exported.
I once bought lamb chops in a deli and I still crave them. What is seldom is special.
Im on a big push to get more into the emergency fund I have to accumulate a little more before the end of the year. I am using a revolute card that adds up the loss change fourfold and it slowly adds up. My main bank account's debit card stopped working so this might be a blessing in disguise. I going to be very frugal for the next few months because things are better having a nicer layer of cushioning.6 -
I am getting increasingly irritated with my hair. I haven't coloured it in over 10 years and I don't have any grey but it is wavy and it seems to be getting more and more frizzy and looking in bad condition, despite using conditioner and leave in conditioner every time I wash it. I was watching a YT video about the CurlyGirl Method (I think someone on here mentioned it) and I am going to read up on it. It looks like I might be brushing my hair too much and the woman in the video put the products in her hair upside down. I've never tried that before. I try to straighten my hair as much as I can but it might be better to embrace the waves!
I'm going to do a face pack and have a bath later. It's so much nicer now it's not hot. I had a gruelling Zoom therapy session yesterday. I'm having EMDR, it is a therapy to help your brain process trauma. I am going to make sure I do relaxation exercises as my psychologist said I should do that regularly before our next session. I was feeling exhausted afterwards. I am about to go back to bed to rest.
I hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

Wednesday my DD is mixed race and has curly hair inclined to frizz, she says brushing is the worst thing to do. She also has some sort of deep moisturising treatment at the hairdressers about every 3 months, she says that is a big help. We are never happy with our hair are we, we perm straight hair we straighten curly hair, if only we could all do a swap. Mine is very fine, straight and flyaway so I'm up for a swap for a bit more volume and body.7

Yes, it's strange as I try to straighten my hair by brushing it and it just seems to get so tangled and frizzy. I just read a few things online and then ordered some products for wavy/curly hair that were recommended. It's Amazon and it will be here tonight by 10 pm so I will try the new method tomorrow. I read that frizz is just a curl trying to get out, lol. It's annoying as I prefer straight hair. I used to have perfectly straight hair as a kid and I hated that too. Never satisfied!4 -
Good morning lovely ladies....Hair!!!! 😂. I'm not really very pleased with my latest cut. I was tempted to nip into a local salon and see if they would do me a Judi Dench style pixie cut but I've decided to wait another few weeks and then go back to my usual stylist. I'm not blaming him. I asked him to give me a longer bob but with hindsight I don't think it's right for me. Something a wee bit shorter with some blunt cut layers to make it appear thicker and fuller.Gave myself a face pack this Mornjng. Still got a slight bit of bruising from the Sunekos treatment but when I go out with my mask on no one sees it. Masks hide a multitude of sins. 😂.Have just spent a good hour or so in the garden breaking up the earth and applying the claybreaker stuff. I wanted to get the worst patch done in case it rains today. Doubtful. Wish it would, the ground is parched. I have just one bit left and that is the easy bit where the soil is slightly better. Going to have breakfast and a rest and then see how I feel. Either this Afto or tomorrow. Wont take long then I'm done - at least for the first go. Leave the claybreaker to work it's magic and then give it a second go in a month. It will be much easier next time.Ordered a new fridge freezer this morning because mine is on its last legs, but I've had it 8 years so it doesn't really owe me. Nothing fancy because at some point Within the next 5 years I will either move or have a new kitchen.....Once I have finished the rough work in the garden I will give myself a manicure although my hands are bearing up quite well considering how I torture them. I might have silly baby fine hair but at least I have good strong nails.Right I'm starving......Time to eat. A full English this morning, Healthy version. That will see me through till dinner. Not lost any weight this week but I'm not surprised, I always struggle to lose when it's hot. But the good news is my blood sugar levels are coming down nicely. Getting there.Very sore and stiff this morning. Ribs, shoulder and neck giving me gyp. Don't suppose I help myself with the heavy work in the garden but I'll be blowed if I'm going to pay someone £££ when I can dose up on pain killers and do it myself. I can always have a sofa day, eat simple ready meals and watch movies if I need to take time to recover. 😂🤣Have a great weekend y'all.7

It's strange how nobody is ever satisfied with their own hair. Mine isn't curly but it's not straight either so to have a smooth bob I have to blow dry it which makes it rather high maintenance. I've never been able to go to the gym or pool, have a shower and just wash & go with my hair so I've always had to factor in blow drying it afterwards. And I have to do it with a decent hairdryer, not those you find in changing rooms and hotel bathrooms. On the plus side, I'm happy with the colour which is basically mouse that I have highlighted. It costs me but I think it's worth it. 😉
Today the regulations are changing for some beauty treatments. I really want to get my eyebrows waxed and tinted but the bar I go to isn't opening until next week. I'll keep an eye (no pun intended😉) on the website but I have signed up to be alerted when they're taking bookings.
Everything ended up running late yesterday so I didn't get my shopping done or my fake KFC for dinner. ☹ I'll go to Aldi's this afternoon and just hope it's not busy because the sun isn't shining.6 -
I think I ruined my hair by getting perms when I was a teenager. It never went back to being straight after that. Colouring it dark did make it look in better condition but I got sick of dyeing it every month.
You are supposed to dry your hair with a microfibre towel instead of a normal one if you have wavy or curly hair. You have to scrunch the gel through your hair after conditioning to set the waves. I will see if I like the result tomorrow.
I was just catching up with YouTube videos. There was one about what 10 basics you should have in your wardrobe. I didn't have many of them.
I think she (Jenny Mustard) said a black tee, a white tee, a pair of jeans, a blazer, a black dress, a white vest, a solid neutral jumper, hmm, what were the other things? Black smart trousers...
