thepurplepixie said:Wednesday if it anything like my surgery it will be locked down tighter than Fort Knox. The locked door, the receptionist gowning up to let me in, the checking I was using the hand sanitiser properly, the doctor in scrubs, apron, mask, vizor, gloves. I can't imagine what they wear if they think you have covid. It was also very quiet, I was the only patient in the building and was outnumbered 8 to 1 by the staff I could see. It was a very strange experience. Hope it goes well.3

Well I've got through the day in one piece. Thank you so much for all your support and good wishes today. I really appreciate it.The morning was truly horrible, no idea why it has been so bad year. I can only think it might have something to do with lockdown, just magnifying everything, playing with our emotions. I know lots of people are very anxious and stressed and whilst I don't feel too bad I have had the odd "low" day, days when I've felt demotivated and lethargic. I have been very fortunate in that I haven't fallen victim to depression, so many people have.I actually broke down on the phone this morning when my friend rang to wish me well. Poor thing she was so shocked and felt really guilty. I then broke down again at chiro. So embarrassing, but my chiropractor was lovely. What sparked it off was when she examined me she said "what on earth have you done". I was a bit nonplussed and said I hadn't done anything untoward, what was the problem. She said "well you've done something because your top right ribs are completely thrown backwards". I just burst into tears and fessed up it was the anniversary. She explained that it was the stress that had done it.It just goes to show how badly stress can affect us physically to the point where our muscles are so tense they can displace where our bones should be. Fascinating really.Anyway after she had realigned everything again I felt much better. The sunekos treatment went well and I even managed to pop into Aldi. Came home and was just resting when my lovely friend dropped off a bunch of flowers to cheer me up. Bless her heart, so kind and thoughtful.Wednesday.....the chiro does reiki on my feet sometimes. It's brilliant. I've no idea how or why it works but it's very effective. I can actually feel the heat from her hands even though she's not touching me. Strange voodoo. 😂. But if it works who cares.
Good luck at the surgery tomorrow. I think they are very hot on tetanus jabs. DS1 injured his hand a couple of weeks ago on some rusty metal fencing. The surgery told him to go to A@E to get it cleaned and get a tetanus jab. I was just about to go and pick him up to run him to the hospital because he couldn't drive when they rang back and said they had double checked his records and he was up to date with tetanus protection so as he didn't need stitches he didn't bother going to the hospital. DIL dressed the wound and it healed nicely.Definitely get a shot, especially as you need antibiotics anyway. Better safe than sorry.Anyway......What a day.......glad it's over. Tomorrow is another day. 😉.
no storms yet but it feels very warm, will need the fan tonight.7 -
sorry i havent been around much , I think i told you that my DD and her partner have split up , so me and DH ( Mostly me ) have had to babysit the kids a lot so she can go to work , I think age is telling on me , im shattered some days ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, My grandaughter should have had an operation , and that got cancelled so we are back to square one with that , , they said 27 operations pending and she is number 3 on the list , Its quite serious and she was told it HAD to be done within 3 months ,,,,,,,that ran out in June ,,,,,so we are a bit worried and although we dont want her to go through it , we at the same time want it done and over.
Wednesday youll be fine for the injection . , Its all timed appointments, and very safe,
Big hugs LL
Got other health issues going on here, but on the whole we are doing ok . xxxxx6 -
Good good Mornjng lovely ladies.,
Moll......I couldn't help but notice the time you posted. Couldn't you sleep. Not surprising though. You have an awful lot on your plate, no wonder you are shattered. The situation with granddaughter Is dreadful, hope it gets sorted soon. Sorry to hear that DD and partner have split up. That's a worry for you too. Take care my dear.Well I had a lovely nice long sleep. Still no storm yet. Going to take it gently today.....I thought I had booked appts for today, turns out they are next Tuesday so I I'm free after all. Feels Like a bonus day. 😁. At some point I'm going to give myself a pedicure. Did a manicure yesterday. I'm going to some online shopping later. Can't be bothered going to real shops. 😂. Although I'm going to go for a walk to the local Cheapo Almost a £ shop before it gets hot. Need to start walking again. I've been rather lazy of late. 🤫Have a great day y'all. Keep fabbing.7 -
Moll I hope the appointment comes through soon, the waiting is so hard isn't it.
Wednesday I hope the GP visit goes well, worth it to get tetanus up to date, did you get your antibiotics?
I've decided that I need to make sure I start off the day with doing something positive so my big achievement this morning is, wait for it..............I've booked a space at the recycling centre so tomorrow I'm loading up the car with all my bags of garden waste and getting rid of it all. Not glamorous but definitely positive. I've also got some online consultancy work for today so that will be £200 going into my "having a treat" fund. Funnily enough I'm more excited about getting rid of bags of waste than I am about the money but it will a fun to having a shopping trip when DD is down so that is a future positive day already sorted. I'm not sure how it works in other places, does everyone have to book appointments to take stuff to the tip/recycling centre or is it just here? I've been once and I have to say it was an improvement on the usual free for all which can result in a long wait.
It feels a bit cooler here this morning which is good news.
Hope you have a better day today LL, we can't help the low days can we, we just have to plough through them and be a bit like Scarlet O'Hara and know that "Tomorrow is another day." Let's hope it is a better one.6 -
Morning, fabbers,
moll I cant believe your DGDs operation has been cancelled yet again. I can imagine how tiring it must be looking after your grandchildren -I’m tired with my own children. Are they of school age?
helen I was driving yesterday and saw some sunflowers that had been planted next to a tree, by the roadside. Totally random and I thought of you.
Today is likely to be the last day of the heatwave for us, as rain and thunderstorms are predicted. Me and OH set up the paddling pool for the children, so they can have their final day of hot weather.
i have done more decluttering and dropped a bag of clothes off at the sup market clothes bank.Having managed to convince OH to get rid of his DVDs, we decided to sell them to one of those places that buys DVDs. We downloaded the app and found that they would only take about 5% of the DVDs we scanned. Clearly, we have crap taste in films!! It feels like a waste to take them to the tip, but unless I can find someone to take them, that will be my only option.7 -
Molly, has your daughter contacted the consultants secretary about your FGDs operation? I know that the children's hospital I work in are running 6 & 7 day theatre lists to try to clear the backlog.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

sad Moll that the operation is delayed. Our tip was appt only but that changed a few weeks ago, I believe that there is always a queue though!6

I got my tetanus jab this morning. The cab was early so I got there at 9.35 for my 10 o'clock appointment! I had to sit there in the waiting room wearing my mask. I don't know how people wear them for long shifts, especially in this heat. I got the tube back (so empty compared to normal) and then went into Coop. I think that is the first time I've been in there in months. My antibiotics were ready so I just went out again to pick them up. I forgot my mask stupidly as I had just put one in to wash and I forgot to put another one in my bag. I went in anyway as they have a screen blocking the staff. Nobody was wearing a mask in there, weirdly, not even the staff. I have to take 4 tablets a day for a week. I am going to make sure I take a probiotic each day too.
The man who did my jab today said a side effect could be a fever. I hope not as I don't fancy that in this hot weather!
When I got in my art print and my mug were delivered. I am going to go and get a frame from upstairs for that in a minute. I bought a falafel wrap from Coop and I will have that with some freshly squeezed orange for lunch as I had a craving.
My hair is horrendous with this humid weather. It's really frizzy. I can't wait for it to cool down.
